About this house rental

This unique historic home was originally a dependency to the grand Coor-Bishop House located a half block away, where President James Monroe stayed in 1819 while touring the South.

The home contains two large bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and new King beds with new mattresses. One King bed can be converted to two Twin XLs upon request. The house
is newly updated with fresh paint, new furniture, luxury linens and amenities and a new gas range in the well-appointed kitchen.

Walk to the riverfront, Tryon Palace and historic downtown and its many restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. Relax on the screen porch. Cruise or kayak the Neuse and Trent Rivers. Take a short 45-minute drive to Beaufort, Oriental, and the beautiful Crystal Coast beaches.

Sorry, but no children under 8 years of age. Infants are welcome but we do not provide cribs or playards.

PLEASE NOTE: The home is situated on a raised basement with 12 steps from the street level to the front door. All bedrooms are on the second floor.

Stayed with co-workers in this house for a conference. It was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The owner was awesome at communicating and would definitely stay here again! The neighborhood was precious and quiet. This house is well-maintained and a great place to enjoy New Bern.

We were delighted with the town, which was charming, quaint and just the right size for a truly enjoyable experience. It reminded me of my years in Boston and New England. The house was perfectly located in the historic center, very close to the waterfront. It was an easy walk to restaurants, shops and everything the town of New Bern has to offer. Our host was very gracious and helpful and recommended the best restaurants (we enjoyed the two he recommended very much). ! I have family in the area and would definitely stay in the lovely and adorable little cottage again. It was comfortable and provided everything we needed and more. Our stay was June 28 to 30, 2024

The house is the perfect walkable distance to the downtown New Bern area. The beds are very comfortable - firm but not too stiff (mattress comments are always what I check for in reviews). I had the BEST mornings on the screened in porch, drinking coffee and watching the beautiful bird and butterfly gardens. So peaceful! You won’t regret booking this for your next trip to New Bern! But bring an eye mask if you like to sleep late. Beautiful high windows in this historic house let in all the morning light 😊

Everything about our stay at this lovely home was perfect. Dan and Chris provided everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay and they are a pleasure to deal with. The property is in walking distance to everything New Bern has to offer including the Riverwalk, gorgeous historic homes and lots of great restaurants. We stayed for six weeks and were not bored one day!

We had a wonderful experience. The house is in a quiet, historical neighborhood within walking distance to downtown New Bern and the waterfront. The house is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The beds are super comfortable, and the towels are plush. The hosts are terrific too. We would definitely come back and stay again.

We absolutely loved this home. Extremely clean, well furnished, with lots of thoughtful touches. Thick towels, extra toiletries, and well stocked kitchen. Coffee, tea, sweeteners. Bottled water as well. The location is perfect, residential neighborhood, half a block to the water, a quick 5-10 minute walk into the town and restaurants. The owners were very responsive.

Beautiful and convenient location within the heart of downtown/historic New Bern. Once we arrived and parked our vehicle, everything we wanted to do for the weekend was within a pleasant walkable distance. Our stay was so nice and relaxing! Not only is the property just a few steps away from the waterfront the location provides a quiet relaxing experience that allows you to truly unplug and step away into historic New Bern. The owners were very helpful and communicative, the house is absolutely adorable and perfect for a stay where others can come visit you. My husband and I fell in love with this property the moment we stepped inside. This charming home was tastefully decorated, roomy and immaculate. This historic property is immaculate and located just steps from the waterfront and a short walk to New Bern's downtown shops and restaurants. The property owners included many unexpected extras that made for a very pleasant stay. The host is extremely responsive. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property.
