Very nice property in a perfect location overlooking the lake
Nothing it was perfect

The hotel is situated with an unobstructed view of the lake from the indoor and outdoor bar/dining areas- moored sailboats bobbing. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was updated with heated floors, the young summer staff were super friendly and eager to please.
Some of the staff were, let's say, set in their ways. Most were patient and friendly. Some, not so much. The food here was good-to-very-good. Much better than at a couple of other "Inn Collection" meals we've had elsewhere.

This hotel was so much nicer than what we expected it to be! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The enormous lounge/restaurant/cafe etc is something I wish every hotel in the world would have, so relaxing. Room was nice, not very modern but that’s hard to find anyway. Parking on site. The lake just across the road is beautiful. Make sure yiur booking is for the Waterhead, there is a seperate building on the hill.
For people that don’t like dogs, you will be seated in a vey warm corner of the restaurant.

Location overlooking the lake
No lift , not good quality coffee for breakfast

Wonderful location, we opted for the classic lake view room. Amazing staff, all of them.

Lovely hotel, great value for money compared to others in the Lake District.

All very good- very helpful in giving us a quiet room- thought evening food a little expensive for what it was- seafood burger not much in it!- breakfast very good- staff very good
Seafood burger not great not much in it - expensive
Better evening meals elswhere

Good location
Evening meal was awful (albeit paid for separately). Took an age to come ; soup was like like warm watery gruel with a metric tonne on pepper with two lank - cold - pieces of toast; vegetables with main must have started cooking when man first discovered fire; the pie was warm (just) and the potatoes in it were not cooked; then the cheese was, frankly, rubbish - grapes shrivelled and 3 pieces of very average cheap cheese. TBH it would have been fair enough at a Toby Carvery but the menu ain’t exactly budget at the Waterhead.

First impressions last, the check in was excellent and we were even shown to our room. The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. And our room was excellent, huge thank you to the hotel beauticians that make the rooms so beautiful for our arrival. We will definitely be back.
There was nothing we didn't like.

Lovely location on the edge of lake Windermere and only 15 minutes walk into Ambleside. Excellent facilities with friendly and helpful staff and on-site parking . The breakfast was very good with a good selection of hot and cold choices. Our room was very comfortable and had good views across the lake . We didn’t eat in on an evening and found a good selection of restaurants and bars in the nearby town.
There was no lift available and it was quite a trek to our room with bags. I think this could prove difficult for anyone elderly or with disabilities. It didn’t particularly cause us any problems and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
4.1
Room excellent if been a lift and not so far from main facilities breakfast tables not cleared lack of essentials no sausages no eggs no brans? Dinner food quality good except ordered at 7 pm two items not available on the menu all the above issues need
All the issues in last question

The location by the lake is wonderful and very peaceful. The hotel is recently refurbished and is modern and clean.
The breakfast service was very disorganised and we were kept waiting for items on the buffet that had run out. The lift was not installed and we had to carry heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs. Fortunately staff were available to help.

Hot food was brilliant on the first morning, not so hot on the next two days. First day there was no fresh fruit, but some on the others mornings
Stairs, lift out of action. Lack of light and small window in the room, didn’t open the window as it was next to an extraction tube, room got a bit warm at night.

Staff and the hotel were lovely
Nothing, I thought everything was great in our short stay

Young barman/waiter (Thomas) held the place together. He's wasted here, could work at any 5 star hotel, such an asset to any business. Dealt with customer complaints (which there seemed to be a few of at dinner) efficiently & discreetly, without making anyone feel uncomfortable.
Breakfast was excellent.
Beds were comfy.
Location of the hotel goes without saying, prime position.
Dinner was awful (2 nights running) chips seem to be cooked in dirty oil.
Menu description didn't match the food served, eg Thai red curry, we were served chicken in what seems to be a tinned tomato sauce. The cook really needs to get a recipe book this is such an easy dish to make! The Chicken & Chorizo pie was like a brick, the filling was like a curry sauce (maybe it was confused with the Thai curry?), the side of relish was odd.
My desert was lovely but apart from that we wouldn't eat there again, we only ate the 2nd night as we'd been visiting relatives and were tired.
We paid over £400 for a lake view, which was superb & the room was pleasant (if you ignored the gutters pouring outside, but the restaurant standard needs huge improvement when there's so much competition in the area for great restaurants.

The views were stunning.
Really enjoyed our stay

Fabulous location, pleasant helpful staff, room spotlessly clean with excellent facilities & sundries

Nice room, with balcony and lake view. Cafetière in room. Steak dinner.
Limited car parking. Limited dinner menu choices.

Breakfast was very nice great selection
The cleaners room was opposite our room and they made a lot of noise on a morning when we were trying to lay in.
4.1
location and comfortable bed and a little view of the lake
the room was noisy early morning as room over the car park and early morning deliveries woke us. used to be table service but had to help our self to tea, coffee and make on toast and by the time you are up and down your breakfast or tea is cold. was disappointed about this for the price.
4.1
The facility was in a good location, clean and the floor staff were friendly.
The dinner was over priced. The manager(s) were less then friendly and quite frankly seemed indifferent to communicating with guests.
4.1
Our room was lovely and clean and we had a perfect view over the lake, breakfast was delicious with both full English and veggie option too! All staff were very friendly and helpful.
My evening meal of seabass salad was disappointing, the rocket leaves were drenched in balsamic vinegar rather than a glaze so spoilt it and the seabass was rather small for the price of £17.
4.1
Great location right next to the lake, good size rooms.
King size bed had a large dip down the middle of the mattress. Our room had no view of the lake and seemed to back on to the top road. Not the best sleep.
4.1
The location of the hotel is excellent, right by the water and with a lovely view. The staff were first class, very friendly, helpful and extremely hard working and efficient. The hotel was very clean, both the room and public areas. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast.
Parts of the hotel were a bit tired and needed updating but as it is due to be refurbished this is understandable. Our bed was a bit lumpy but again I’m sure they will be replaced as part of the improvements. We felt that although our cooked breakfasts were excellent there could have been some better cereals or granola on offer with dried fruit as we’ve had in other hotels. Also perhaps grapefruit segments with natural yoghurt would have been welcomed.

Style and decor. Rooms well equipped. Food good
Poor parking facilities

Breakfast was fine with plenty of choice and accommodated my husband’s desire for 2 boiled eggs!
Location good people came and went. Lovely first thing in n the morning and evening.
All the stairs within hotel as my husband has some mobility issues. Car parking lack of as we arrived in the evening.

Worth the price
cant say a very good place to live for those who dont own a car
4.1
Large junior suite, perfect for our family, with a sofa bed and an additional bed so our kids could finally fall asleep in different beds
Cute, comfortable, great location, lovely staff
Good dinner/breakfast
A little struggle to park as we were some of the last to check in on a full day
