This is more of a AirBNB. I assumed I had booked a normal hotel, imagine my surprise when I arrived and was locked out because they had emailed me some access code that was required for everything including the door to get into the building. After tailgating someone into the building I was able to finally meet someone. There is no real attendant just some guy behind a podium more than a desk that hand bombed my credit card info into an ipad not convinced this has any sort of security. Room was clean etc. but basic tv is not included you get a smart TV where you need to use a personal account to log into your own Netflix, Prime or YouTube. Honestly, I have travelled all over the world and this was by far the least service I have ever received for a price comparable to everyone else in downtown Ottawa. I won't use any Sonder Hotel chain again

Check in and check out were easy as we needed to do the verification process before the stay. However, the sofa bed was terrible as the mattress on top of the spring coils was so thin that one could not sleep on it. We were supplied with 2 comforters to cover it after complaint but it was still not comfortable at all.

The location is excellent! Very walkable. Apartment was nice. Very comfortable bed and large sofa. Only complaint would be the floors were not very clean in the kitchen and bathroom. A lot of hair on the bathroom floor. Toilet seat is loose and shifts every time you use it. I like the amenities closet in the front entrance to get more toilet paper etc if needed.

I was offered a $15 voucher for food and beverage...when I got there I was told it did not cover alcoholic beverages. I pointed out that that was not what the advert said and that they were misadvertsing. There was no apology and so i asked to speak to the manager. I was told he would call me...they didin't. I then spoke to marketing and they said they would raise it with tehir manger and tehir manager would call me. They didn't either. The misadvertsing continues. I will never stay in a Sandman again and am considering a class action law suit for a blatant disregard of advertising standards.

Beds were comfortable, but layout of suite was terrible, and furniture was less than ideal. Couldn't properly see the TV from the sofa - had to rearrange furniture to watch it. Beside tables in MBR were small and short with no drawers. Bedside lamps in bedroom were not proper bedside lamps - far too low to shine light on a book. No dresser (or TV) in MBR.

Although the hotel is great (location + facilities + clean), the first day I slept there I was freezing. The rooms only work on AC or Heating/Furnace but not both. The day I arrived was warm but there was a temperature drop at night and as much as I was cranking up the thermostat in the room, nothing was happening. Next day I found an employee and gave me a portable heater. Note: this issue is usual in hotels in Ottawa, not a condition only affecting Sonder. Additionally, I also didn't feel happy giving so much information to "persona" for the "virtual verification", but I guess this is the way we are going into the future. Not sure how old people or non tech savvy people would do with these type of hotel systems.

Well the place is nice. However the experience was not the best. This company falsely advertised the units. We booked a 2 room suite with one room queen bed and the other a king bed. When I got there the unit we got had 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. They had no other unit available to offer us. The lady was very nice and really tried to help. However we ended up having to book and pay for another room in the vicinity at a reduced price. I payed the additional amount but I don’t think they handled it properly. I shouldn't have to pay to get what I originally payed for. Quite disappointed. A company like this should not falsely advertise. The units are nice and so is the property.

Great property and the room is clean and bright. One recommendation is to please turn off the elevator chime and somehow it is very loud and I can hear it clearly inside the room even with the TV is on. Anyway this is a great property and highly recommended. Thank you.

Lovely hotel, it’s close walking distance to all the sights. staff was wonderful. Parking is attached to the hotel but owned by a different company. The parking lot is a bit creepy.

This is our second stay at a Sonder property. Suite could've been a bit cleaner - marks/residue found on a few pieces of cutlery, dust and a few hairs found on a few locations on the floor. Parking was a nightmare in the garage below the hotel - the garage should be redesigned to have one way out and in and spaces should be a bit bigger. Despite the above, would stay here again (without a car). Thank you.

Our room 1208 (really a one bedroom apartment with kitchen) was very spacious, modern and well equiped kitchen/bath (including dishes, pots, cutlery, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, paper towels ...) Perfectly clean and comfortable. Excellent air conditioning. The attending staff were wonderful and very attentive and helpful! Self serve parking ($25 per 24 hr.) and self service entry and checkout were efficient. One bug-a-boo maybe, was that we paid extra for a balcony equiped suite. To say the the room had a balcony is a bit of a stretch. The balcony was an unfurnished slab of concrete (approx 3 X 10 feet) enclosed with birdwire offering a view of the opposing office buildings and their rooftop HVAC systems. Not really useable. Pictures on the room listing might have helped with our choice. ;-) But this didn't really affect our enjoyment as we were really there to enjoy Ottawa centre which the location provided exceptionally well (tourists). We would highly recommend this hotel for quality, service and value.

The unit was clean and spacious, I appreciated the little touches like the laundry facilities with no additional charge, as well as the security features within the building. Safety is something this location excels at with no access being granted to the main door elevator or your hotel unit without a security code or digital key. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This was our first time at a Sonder as we usually stay with hotels. It was like having your own apartment in a convenient location. Bed was very comfortable but no broadcast TV and the air conditioner was too noisy to leave on. Area across the street was a bit sketchy but we had no issues.
