About this house rental
Stay at River Song House - your own private waterfront hideaway with 5 bedrooms / 2 full bath and a relaxed, designer vibe. Private grounds slope down to a waterfront deck, a patio, a fire pit, 10 seater outdoor table and direct frontage on the banks of the Esopus Creek! Perfect place for couples, friends, or family get- togethers.
Living area with river views & comfy couches, hand-made 8 seater local wood dining table, side deck with seating, full kitchen with butcher-block island, bonus open mudroom/ meditation/yoga/work space!
Central location - close to Woodstock, Rheinbeck, Kingston, Saugerties, hikes, shopping & more !
River Song was originally built back in 1930, as a fisherman's cottage. We're NYC photographers and fell in love with the house & property the first time we saw it. We decided to expand & renovate the house, as our vacation getaway. We had a curated, chill, Zen- meets- rock'n'roll vibe in mind. We hope you like it !
Original music photography & 1950's movie posters decorate the walls - a nod to the rich musical and artistic heritage of the Hudson Valley.
Check out the water views from the living area with cathedral ceiling, vintage leather couches & a dining area with an 8 seater table made from raw-edge Catskill Pine. The large kitchen has everything you need for cooking meals plus a butcher block counter window to sit & chat with whoever is making the food.. or mixing the drinks.
Most of the house in on one level, including Living room, Kitchen, Dining area, 3 of the bedrooms, & the 2 bathrooms plus a sunroom room with designer lounge chairs and a desk & chair, if you need to work.
THE BEDROOMS
#1 The Primary Bedroom has a luxury KING size bed, double closet, 2 nightstands dresser & TV
#2 QUEEN size bed with large closet, dresser & 2 nightstands
#3 FULL size bed with large closet & 2 nightstands
#4 & #5 Upstairs there are 2 small bedrooms - both have moveable screen doors. One has an original 1930 built-in single wooden bed, the other has two single beds & river views.
Outside there's a back deck with built-in seating & chairs for morning coffee , plus a table & chairs for alfresco dining & a gas BBQ Grill. The gently sloping yard goes down past a boathouse shed ( not in use), to a waterfront patio area with 10 seater outdoor table, multiple Adirondack chairs, a separate fire pit area and your very own dock / deck directly on the water !
Things to Note:
- No smoking or parties, events or large gatherings are permitted
- There is off street parking on the driveway and free street parking too.
- The front of the property has a one bed apartment with its own entrance, which is rented separately and not included. You may see another car on the driveway.
People with children or mobility issues please note that this is a waterfront property and is bordered on one side by the Esopus Creek, with a sloping yard down to the banks of the Creek & deck/dock open to the water. At the front of the house, on the other side of the street, there's a train track with a slow-moving freight train that will trundle past, on no fixed schedule, from time to time. It's not especially loud (some folks say they love the sound... but be aware if you think that would bother you! )
River Song House is a magical, beautiful spot to gather, relax & unwind... and sit sit by the beautiful Esopus Creek and watch life float
