About this house rental
This accommodating, year-round destination provides you the flexibility and freedom to create an unforgettable vacation. A custom-built, craft-style home sitting just a few steps from the water is situated on 1.5 beautiful acres on the northeastern shore of Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, Maine.
SUMMER LIVING: Slow down, connect with nature, and find peace and tranquility in the tree-lined back yard. Ducks, loons, and other wildlife are no strangers to this isolated and quiet place. Take a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard to explore the nearby brook for a different perspective of the area. Or enjoy a swim off the dock or rocky shoreline.
If you’re looking for a more fast-paced and exciting stay, this property also has a dock to moor boats or jet skis. Or utilize the spacious outdoor areas for grilling, games, and entertainment.
At the house you’ll find private as well as community spaces, hi-speed WIFI, a spacious kitchen, a dedicated work/office space, a game room, stunning views of the water, and multiple porches where you can witness the best of life on the lake, and the captivating beauty of Maine’s sunrises and sunsets.
WINTER-TIME*: Winter in Maine provides a variety of unique experiences. Once the lake has frozen over a whole new world opens up. Spend some time cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, snowmobiling, or ice-fishing. Or enjoy the soft and quiet serenity of falling snow and peaceful walks through local hiking areas.
YEAR-ROUND: Even though you’re tucked away in a quiet and secluded area, you’re less than 15 minutes away from restaurants, bars, shopping, art galleries, walking and hiking trails, night life in Downtown Hallowell, Augusta and Winthrop, and much more! If you’re seeking specific experiences, day trips, or if you’re looking for ideas and recommendations, we’re happy to help provide you with information on local offerings.
PRIVATE GYM: Located in the two-bay garage you'll find a variety of equipment at your disposal. This includes a multi-function squat rack with a bench, dumbbells, aerobic step, yoga mat, and an inversion board.

Great Lake front property, ideal for grilling and yard games

Our stay in Manchester was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled on the serene shores of Cobbosseecontee Lake, this vacation home offered a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and nature’s beauty.
The house has breathtaking views of the lake, which were even more stunning than the pictures. The house itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated, with every amenity we could have wished for. The living area was spacious and cozy, providing the ideal spot for family gatherings.
The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances, making it easy to prepare meals. We particularly enjoyed dining on the expansive deck, where we could watch the sunset over the lake each evening. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, with plush bedding ensuring we had a restful night’s sleep.
One of the highlights of our stay was the easy access to the lake. We spent our days kayaking, and swimming right from the private dock. The crystal-clear water and peaceful surroundings made for a truly relaxing experience.
The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive, providing us with great recommendations and ensuring our stay was perfect.
In summary, this Manchester house on a lake is a gem of a vacation home. It provided us with a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I highly recommend this lakeside retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious getaway. We can’t wait to return!

Great stay, amazing house and property!

The house was so much more than we expected. The shared living spaces were great to watch movies and play games together. We were able to have a fire outside while others skated on the lake. Great bed rooms to ensure everyone felt comfortable and had their own space.

We stayed here on our wedding weekend. It was great to stay with both our wedding parties and their +1’s all in the same place. The whole house is massive and beautiful. The kitchen is big an open. The house is literally feet away from the edge of the lake. Comfy beds, more than enough bathrooms and towels, multiple rooms for social gatherings, and nice add on amenities like a grill and fireplace.
The driveway was a bit tricky to navigate at times with people coming and going, but we made it work and the landlord was communicative throughout the weekend as things came up.
The only other thing that we were not clear on until we arrived was the layout of the carriage house. Maybe we just misread the listing, but there were 2 advertised bedrooms here and upon arrival we discovered one of them was a part of the downstairs living space (studio style setup). The other less than ideal element to the carriage house was there only being a half bath and therefore needing to come into the main house to shower.
Certainly not a deal breaker for us. The place was still perfect and we had an amazing stay.

4.0 / 5.0
If I️ could give 4.5 stars I️ would, but this place falls just short of a perfect stay due to a few small things. First the positives:
1. The house is exceptionally clean and well maintained.
2. Towels are plentiful.
3. The gym in the garage is excellent
4. The game room is a nice touch and it was fun playing ping pong and foosball with friends.
5. The house is literally a few steps from the water, with excellent views of the lake.
The reasons this isn’t a 5 star stay:
1. Three night minimum is archaic.
2. There is no Bluetooth speaker on the entire property, really? It’s 2023. There’s also no easy way to connect a phone to the home theater system. This property is for events, Make it easy to play music!
3. No welcome gift or treats. I’ve stayed at many a rental property and the best hosts provide some sort of welcome gift, snacks, or treats, especially at this price.
4. The list of chores for guests to do before checkout is tacky.
I’d def stay here again, fix these few small issues and this is a perfect stay.
P.s.
The “no shoes in the house” rule is a weird flex but I️ respect it.

This house was amazing, we stayed here with our large group of friends during our wedding weekend as it was located less than 10 mins from our venue. This house was set up with large groups in mind, everything was so thoughtful and immaculate and all of our needs were met. With so many different activities during downtime, between the lake, kayaks, and game room, everyone had a blast. We recommend this place!

We loved this house. Great spaces and decor and the house was immaculately clean. The proximity to the lake was amazing and we look full advantage of the kayaks provided with the property. Communication was great. Would definitely stay again!

We were first drawn to this property because of its proximity to our family's home near Hammond's Grove, which was a big plus for us as we could simply boat over and back for visits (much shorter than driving!). The home and carriage house are so well designed and thoughtfully provisioned. It not only looks beautiful and modern, but there are important little touches, like well-lighted closets, tempurpedic mattresses, and sumptuous bedding that you would expect in a five star hotel. The grounds and gardens are expansive and beautiful. We used the outdoor BBQ and kayaks and felt a little bit guilty about not working out in the well-appointed gym. Our grandkids loved the game room. We loved this property and will be back! Dan, the property manager is friendly and quick to respond.

We rented the house for the bridal party and both families - for a wedding at a nearby venue. The house was spectacular and Dan was so accommodating. It had absolutely stunning views and plenty of room for everyone. Something for everyone from the game room to the workout room to the views and sitting areas. There was only one issue - we just didn’t have enough downtime at the house over a very busy wedding weekend! Already talking about coming back in the future for a reunion with the bridal party so we can simply enjoy each other at this beautiful home.

Excellent modern home with all the essentials, right on the water. Close to town but feels miles away. Large property. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms. Good dock for our 22ft pontoon boat. Really appreciated the air conditioners. Propert manager/owner really easy to work with.

There were 15 in our party. The check-in process was easy, and Dan answered any questions that we had. The property was the cleanest that we've seen, and we have rented many properties over the past 20 years. Also, there was plenty of room for all of us. There was something to do for everyone! The fishing was great, and the kids had a blast on the kayaks! The location was good as well. We went to Freeport one day and Bar Harbor the next. Truly a great property for a large family! I highly recommend it!

Beautiful property, each room is tastefully decorated, the cottage is adorable and private! We brought our boat and used the dock, it was ideal. Dan the property manager is AMAZING. Anything we asked for, he made it happen within 30 minutes. I would 10000% rent through him again. The house was amazing, huge, room for everyone. We had 14 people and we had extra beds. Don’t want to leave out the landscaping too….felt like I was in a private resort. Definitely recommend, and I am a picky renter.

Beautiful property and the property manager Dan went out of his way to make it a great week. Plenty of rooms/beds for our large group of 16. The kitchen was well stocked with everything, so many extra touches to make it comfortable. Comfortable beds and pillows. The game room and gym were a huge bonus and best of all the fishing was great.

The stay that 14 of my close friends and I had here at the house exceeded all expectations. The house is beautiful and along with the entire property, it was perfect for our stay. We were able to sleep a large group of friends, the property is very fun. The grill and picnic area is perfect for lawn games and having dinner out back. Would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great time on a beautiful lake. Doesn’t get much better.
Dan the property manager is amazing snd easy to contact in the process of renting the property. Very easy to get along with and extremely helpful, he showed us the entire property before settling in.
