Moose on the Loose is a beautiful, custom built, true log cabin located in the Cobbly Nob neighborhood of Gatlinburg, TN. It has everything you need to enjoy your trip including a fully equipped kitchen and resort amenities like 3 Community Pools, and Pickleball and Basketball Courts. It is semi-secluded, nestled into the trees with a view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park right across the street and just minutes to downtown Gatlinburg.
The space:
You will be given a code to access to the cabin
There are 3 bedrooms (1 of which is located in the Rec Room) + 2.5 bathrooms that sleeps 8. You will have 3 levels with 4 decks (3 covered and 1 uncovered)
First floor:
- Queen over Queen beautiful log bunk beds (Bunks are located in the game room)
- 3-in-1 Pool / Air Hockey / Ping Pong Table and Foosball table
- Theater seating with 4 recliners and a 75-inch TV with streaming and surround sound. You can also stream your favorite music through Bluetooth over the surround sound system with subwoofer
- Covered deck with 5 person Hot Tub with color changing LED lights and a wooded view
- Several board games and puzzles
- Wine cooler

I stayed here with my family and we could not have been happier with everything! The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed. The drive up to the cabin was not treacherous, by any means, and did not stress us out. We’ve stayed at other places in Gatlinburg that we were absolutely terrified driving up to and would make sure to be in before dark, but this place was great. We could easily drive in after dark without worrying. We saw a bear and her 3 cubs twice! But at a safe enough distance that we never felt threatened in any way. The owners were so great! Quick to respond to any questions and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it!

This cabin was absolutely gorgeous! Very quiet, clean, & my favorite part was seeing momma bear & her cubs almost every single day there! The host was great & super easy to get in touch with! I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to ANYONE!!

Our family has been coming to the Smokies for more than a decade. We’ve tent camped and RV camped in the park, and have stayed in a few other cabins in the area. This trip we needed maximum rest and recovery with minimum stress. This cabin delivered! It had everything two teens could have wanted. We didn’t even leave the cabin for one whole day because we were all having such a good time. We loved the convertible pool table, watching movies in the theater area, and moving in and out of the hot tub. Everyone had space to come together and gather meaningfully while having privacy when they wanted. The three decks afforded different views and experiences. We spied a bear on the front deck as he crossed the street. And then another one down the road as we headed to the pool. And then a mother and cub came up to the back deck and stayed to dig at a tree stump. It was an amazing encounter and we were safely tucked up and away. The kitchen was easy to cook in and keep clean, and was well-equipped. And the location feels like the best of both worlds: mountain and forest views, tucked far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg without being too far from anything.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. The kids stayed busy with all the game selections that were available. Our highlight was when we got to see a mama bear and her cubs right outside the cabin (watching from inside, of course). It was precious.

This was an amazing property. Lots to do with decks, game/movie room, hot tubs and neighborhood heated pool..We loved our mountain views and watching bears from the decks. The cabin was immaculately clean and the owner was responsive.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The location was a little further from Gatlinburg than I expected but was ok after you got used to it. The only thing I would success is to replace the fry pans and get some potholders. All in all, our visit was very enjoyable and would stay here again.

This was truly an exceptional cabin. We loved our time here and have no complaints. The cabin, views, atmosphere, and ambience were exceptional, as was communication with the host. We are looking forward to booking with them sometime soon!

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Moose on the Loose cabin. The game room/movie room was great for everyone, as well as the hot tub! Very clean, comfortable, with great cabin décor. The views from the front of the cabin were lovely as well. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, breath taking, loss of words! One of the most amazing weekends I've ever had on a vacation. I can't wait to be back. Watching the Bears play out in the front at night from the front balcony is something I will never forget.

Moose on the Loose cabin is everything as described plus more! Stunning views, close to everything we planned, great communication, extremely clean and came equipped with everything we needed! The mattresses were amazing, we all commented how well we slept. So many details that Amanda added to make it even more special. We traveled with two seniors, two adults and two teens for spring break week. The game room and hot tub were perfect. The teens didn't want to leave; many great memories for all! We even saw bears on two different occasions walking along the timbers and later right along the driveway. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you Amanda!

Perfect getaway ! Very comfortable and cozy home feeling! Loved all the blankets and the amenities provided. Awesome for families with older kids ! Our boys loved the downstairs game area and theater chairs. We will definitely be coming back to stay here! And so close to everything but far enough away from all the hustle and bustle .

Great house in a great location with a very nice view of the mountains. The road getting there was worrisome at times but that added to the adventure and is to be expected with a house in the mountains. We enjoyed the hot tub, hike theater, and game room very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and no one was ready to leave! It's located just outside the center of Gatlinburg, so just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The roads inside the community are paved but steep and narrow in places, but then again you are in the mountains. The house was very clean and cozy throughout. The lower level game room/theater room with queen over queen bunks was major hit. Amanda was always checking in and very helpful!

“Moose on the Loose” was an ideal cabin for our family holiday visit to the Smokies. Our daughter’s family and our son joined us for end-of-year relaxation. Over the last 25+ years we have rented many cabins in the Cobbly Nob area and the family agreed that this was one of the best rentals that we have had. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate all of the support from Amanda, our host.

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was even ready early! Amanda sent us a quick message letting us know it was ready early and we were welcome to check in early, no extra charge. Amanda was great and keep in touch, making sure everything was ok and our stay was enjoyable. Cabin was very clean and well stocked. There were plenty of blankets and towels. We even had 4 bear encouters that was very exciting!

This cabin was one of the best I have ever had in my life. It was perfect, and we have 4 kids. The host checked in if i needed anything and to see how we were doing. We were fortunate to see wildlife, but we also took the proper safety precautions. The view was breathtaking and we are pleased with our stay.

This cabin is beautiful! It is very clean and has everything you need. I have a family of 6, and we all had room to spread out and be comfortable! My kids loved the pool table! Close to downtown Gatlinburg, but far enough away that we saw 3 bears near the cabin! Owner was very easy to reach and responded right away! I will definitely book this cabin again!
