About this house rental
Perfectly situated 3 miles from downtown Knoxville / UT campus and less than 30 miles from Pigeon Forge / The Smoky Mountains, is this home. It's a beautiful combination of modern and cozy with an open vaulted living space off of the fully custom kitchen in addition to the dreamy living room with wood-burning fireplace. But why limit yourself to inside? Walk out the new french doors to the magical back patio that includes furniture and a custom outdoor grilling area that you won't want to leave!
Yeah! You found us - the best little rental in South Knoxville! Our family just spent the last year working (read: blood sweat and tears) on a transformational custom renovation for it to be a space where we can rest, play, and adventure together. We had so much fun putting care and attention to all the details to create a fresh bright welcoming space. It’s a clean, modern, yet cozy home with the ability to host friends, families, game day fun, baby showers, biking trips, hiking trips, quiet retreats, activity-packed vacations, work trips, social trips, sports trips, winter or summer trips, and quite honestly, really any trip you can imagine.
The two king bedrooms were designed with rest and comfort in mind - with as many pillows and puffy blankets as you could ever want, as well as spaces to read, write, and work.
We wanted the third bedroom to accommodate guests of any age or size, but with an intentional focus on offering a playful space for kiddos with toys and games and books galore.
We love to cook (indoors and outdoors) and so we designed the custom kitchen to be someplace that we loved to spend time in, stocked with everything you would want or need while you stay. But because we are nestled in the heart of South Knox, if you don’t feel like cooking, all the best restaurants are just a short drive down the road (check out our guest book for lists of our personal restaurant recs).
We spend most days out in the yard. Green rolling hills and huge shady trees fill both front and back yards - so, please, do yourself a huge favor and make sure to venture out to the patio in the cool of the morning to cook breakfast on the grill and watch the sunrise. Make time to sit under the lights to watch the nightly firefly show on warm summer evenings. Rainy days still do happen, but honestly, we love them too! With a 1920’s piano, chests full of games, and stacks of books, there is enough to occupy guests of any age during any chilly evening or wet afternoon (usually accompanied, of course, by batches of muffins, a steamy pour-over coffee, and a crackling fire).
Even though we could stay here all day, there are SO many crazy awesome things to do right out the front door. Countless mountain biking, hiking, and running trails are the heart of Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness and miles and miles of them are located just across the street! You can load up your bike and be at a trail in 3-4 minutes. We have taken our two young kids hiking throughout the Urban Wilderness but there are many trails that could challenge even the most avid of bikers. (Reach out if you are interested and we can share a map of our favorite hikes to do with littles).
And if all of that isn’t enough - we are close enough to downtown to hear the roars from the Vol’s stadium on game days from our yard. But we can also avoid crazy traffic because our favorite route into Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park starts right outside our neighborhood (we have a locally recommended route we can share to avoid traffic on the way into the parks). We can pack up and drive the 25-30 miles and be deep in the heart of the mountains or go sight-seeing in the most touristy of the tourist traps - all in less than an hour.
I know, so much to choose from, right? Life is full of hard choices, but choosing the right rental home isn't (wink wink). Fair warning though, once you experience it here, you might end up wanting to stay longer or come back again soon (we usually do!) From our family to yours - enjoy!
*Disclosure: we do have an outdoor camera monitoring the front entrance to the home. We respect your privacy, and do not have any cameras inside the home*

We enjoyed everything about our stay! The weather was icy and freezing but Tyler had the driveway cleared of all ice and snow. The house was perfect for our family (including 3 little kids). Everything was clean, organized and very cozy. The ability to use the fireplace was a huge plus as well. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Knoxville.

Need some dressers for clothes and mirrors in the bed rooms.
Otherwise very nice.

Property was ok. Not the cleanest in terms of spider webs and typical dusting not done. One bathroom makes it tough.
However real problem is with the owner trying to charge $200 for a very dilapidated bench that we so called damage is ridiculous.
It was a problem since we got there and we should have said something then versus being charged now.
Its very evident the bench is very old and been repaired before and owners needs a new one
We would be repeat renters but not at this expense.
Owner clearly trying to take advantage of the situaton.

Very good clean property. Location is excellent for getting to downtown yet very quiet. Also close drive to mountains and other attractions. Very well appointed house which made for a nice relaxing stay. We actually extended our stay.

Beautiful place with all the amenities we needed for our trip! Great area! Thanks for making our stay so memorable! We will be back!

We spent a few days for Spring Break. The location was great and my favorite touch was the book that gave all the instructions and ideas for things to do and restaurants to visit.
