The room was poorly lit light switches hard to locate The bathroom light was faulty and the shower door would constantly slide open After checkout multiple unexplained charges to card on file

The staff was nice. The room not nice, musty air, damp air, smelly water, electrical outlets tripped off, and we had no water for several hours.

Property misrepresented on Hotels website. Be sure to get room in main building. First room was not clean upon check in; promptly moved to another room; property very average at best. Junky grounds; not maintained; ice machine not working; poor water pressure in shower. I’d suggest staying elsewhere to be honest. There are hotels not listed on Hotels.com I’d recommend checking with to see if they’d suit.

Not that great. There were a lot of flies in the room mostly dead/some alive. I think because of the very hot, humid, rainy, weather. I think housekeeping sprayed insect killer because they were mostly in one area on the floor near the window. But no one cleaned them up off the floor.The beds were very comfortable. Pool was nice. There is definitely not enough help at this hotel as we asked for towels but none came—we had to go get them ourselves. Also no pool towels.

Absolutely terrible! One of the worst experiences I have ever had traveling. To start with, the hotel looks nothing like their website. I found out I was not in the main building, but in another near the pool. I was fine with that, but when I went to the pool it was filthy! There was leaves in it and a beach towel! Won't eat at the hotel restaurant either, horrible reviews! My room was mediocre at best. For the price not very impressive and I requested a single queen bedroom, not this extended stay one. But being that they put me in it, theres hardly any cook ware or utensils to make a meal. Whoever owns this hotel is a cheap bum! The entire property looks run down and in disrepair. The GM is a bunch of laughs, this guy can't even dress or act professionally. Every time I saw him he was covered in dirt and filth and wearing a t-shirt. Apparently he was helping with construction, even through apparently the hotel is owned by a local construction company, ridiculous! As if this all wasn't bad enough, I was over charged for my 2-night stay. I was originally quoted $318 by Hotels.com. When I got there I was told that I'd only be charged $50 for " Incidentals", and the then the remaining balance when I checked out. Yet 1 day into my stay, I'm charged for more than that. I was told it was refunded, but my bank told me they reversed it. Upon check out, their useless GM try to argue with me about the charges, saying "they'd disappear". Such a load...WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!

The bed was bowed and very uncomfortable. The floor in the room was so dirty you got black stains on your feet. We cut our vacation short. Never again.

It seems, that peolle do not really care about problems in the rooms. In our room the mirror light was permaneny flickering and the door to the bathroom couldn't be closed. Very noisy fan in bathroom.

Hotel Manteo has been a great experience. VERY clean and comfortable room, close to fishing, parks and scenic Old Town. Firetender restaurant on site has a wonderful breakfast and full bar.

Stay was great! Quiet location. Close to food and coffee shops. Stayed 4 nights. Pool was beautiful! (Just need a garbage can at the pool) Lindsey at the front desk was just the most pleasant and lovely person! Will stay again.

Lindsey at the front desk was wonderful! I had a very nice room with a pool view - lights were strung across the pool area so it was really lovely in the evenings. Nicely equipped room with great bed and pillows. I came in at night and the parking lots were a bit dark and confusing to navigate - the hotel is spread out with 3 buildings. I think where your room is can make all the difference in the feel of your stay. I was very happy.

Hotel like a motel - most of the rooms had the door facing the outside. Our room - the door was kind of hard to close so had to shove the door closed. Beds were nice. The shower was not as clean as expected. Parking lot could use some work. Front desk check in was easy and representative was very helpful.

The lobby and pool were nice. We really enjoyed the restaurant on the property. Unfortunately, our room was awful, including a moldy smell, dampness, ridiculously dirty mattresses and towels, and broken light fixtures. The shower had not water pressure and there was virtually no decor to warm up the room or make it inviting.

Everyone was so friendly and eager to help or get anything you needed . The room was so clean and comfortable . The other guests were of the same mindset and great fun . I certainly will be happy to recommend . Expedia was excellent to work with as well . Everything was so simple , easy and smooth sailing .😁👍👏👌

Even though the room was updated and the bed comfortable, the general property was not super clean. This was advertised as a recently renovated boutique hotel, but it's really just a glorified motel.

Loved this place and our stay here. We had a wonderful room and enjoyed the large pool on a very hot day. Front desk was super helpful, and the restaurant pizza was excellent. Will def be back!

Check in was perfect, room was fine except for the TV screen was dark in places, there was condensation above the bathroom door that dripped on you. When we were getting ready today the water shut off and we were unable to take showers or brush our teeth. We went to the front desk and they were very nice and were trying to check in out to see what was the problem, they were unable to remedy the situation before we left.

Inside of the hotel was clean and looks like newly remodeled, beds are very comfortable and pillows are soft. The staff’s at the front desk during check out very friendly and helpful. Outside both garage cans were over flowed and garbage on the floor need to empty and clean the area . Hallway to the room very clean and bright with lights. Putting 2 bottles of water would ensure guest satisfaction it only cost 20 cents at Costco . I would recommend having that .

The hotel seemed to be recently renovated. Hotel lobby smelt very nice. The room was large. But it wasn't as clean as I had hoped. There were some taco carryout bags left in one of the drawers from the last customer. The glass shower doors were full of soap scum. There were stains and clumps of hairs in some of the "fresh" towels. But other than that, the beds were comfy and sheets were clean.

The property has recently been updated and is absolutely beautiful although the cleanliness could be of a higher standard and laundry facilities would be nice. The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and super helpful. The restaurant was beautiful, the breakfast was Delicious. The breakfast menu could use a few more options and a coffee upgrade as it was almost not drinkable, but that's obviously personal taste. The pool was lovely. We had a room up front and had to deal with the noise of the traffic which at times sounded like a race track. All in all it was definitely worth the money.

Housekeeping needs improvement, left maid service on door, got back 6 hours later, had 2 towels, need some the next day. Staff was nice. Room was getting cluttered with towels and trash overflowing. But it was a good stay

The view our room faced was not good. Did not feel very safe. I would have felt alot better staying in the main building but our room was in the very back of the property.
