Reasonable value for money.
The owner is very kind and helpful.
A hundred-year-old house: authentic stay in Strood.
Separate tap for hot and cold water.
Very difficult to set the temperature in the shower.
The bath is under the stairs (only one half can be used standing in the shower).
The walls are thin: you can hear the noise of the neighbours.
The apartment is in Strood 2km away from the center of Rochester.

I arrived late and had trouble with the code and when I contacted I was helped immediately and the lady I spoke with was brilliant.
We came home late and we’re surprised to find tea and coffee plus plenty of milk sachets for a cuppa and bottled water in the fridge, brilliant as we hadn’t had chance to stop and pick up anything.
We couldn’t work out how to put the heating on (could have just been us on our late arrival home after a party) 🤣

I love the neatness and the serenity of the environment.
I love the interior decorations.
I love everything about the accommodation

Location was perfect. Close to the train station with easy commute to Rochester and Chatham
The entire apartment was spotless with excellent facilities provided
Will definitely be staying here again when I'm next in town.

It was roomy and clean. It was also warm
The WiFi wasn’t great so difficult to call a cab and it was too far to walk into centre of Rochester

Loved it. Easy check in, entire place was very clean, tidy and cozy. Certainly home away from home.
5.0 / 10.0
The property was nice and clean.
The cookware was brand new and good quality.
There was water and some sauces in the fridge for us, which was a very nice touch.
The bed was comfy.
The curtains were lovely and thick and did a great job of keeping the light out.
The property was in a really nice, quiet road, and was close to shops and Strood station. It was also convenient for walking over the bridge into Rochester.
We were given the wrong pin for the key safe, and couldn't get hold of the host because she was on a flight. Luckily the downstairs neighbours were very helpful and contacted someone who knew the code, but this delayed our entry to the flat.
It's a no smoking property but someone had clearly been smoking there recently because it smelled of smoke, and the bathroom smelled of damp.
The cooking facilities are 2 hot plates and a microwave, and when we made a quick meal (a stir fry), this set the fire alarm off (presumably from the heat, because we didn't burn anything). We had all the windows and the back door open, but this wasn't enough. The property really needs an extractor fan to enable guests to use the hot plates.
In order to wash up after ourselves, we had to make a specific extra trip to the shops to buy some washing up liquid because none was provided. There was also no hot water in the kitchen sink, which was not very hygienic when washing up after eating.
Although the property can sleep 4, there are only 2 chairs at the table.
There were 2 of us staying but towels were only provided for 1 person.
The sofa bed has a deep groove down the middle, which isn't very comfy.
No bedding was provided for the person sleeping on the sofa bed, so we used some pillows from the main bed, a thin throw and a sheet we found high up in a cupboard, but there was no duvet.
The ceiling light in the lounge is incredibly bright, and the only lamp in that room had a failing bulb which didn't shed any light, so it wasn't at all cosy in the evening or when trying to get to sleep.
I had a bath, but there wasn't enough hot water in the tank so it started running cold before I'd realised, so I had to have a very quick, unrelaxing, lukewarm bath.
Overall, it felt as though the owner had made the property look nice, but not stayed in it themselves to work out any of these little aspects.

The design and interior were great. Very stylish and cosy. It suited our needs exceptionally well and was in a great place to get to where we needed to go. Would certainly stay again.
The shower could have been a little easier to work. It doesn't cator to those who are taller and the temperature is very difficult to balance.
