A very pleasant, suburban, tranquil stay.

Sondra, the host was very friendly, sociable, professional and a great cook. Her hospitality was above and beyond. The breakfast which she prepared was out of this world delicious. I especially liked the reindeer sausage which I’ve never had before.

The location is a little far out to on the east side of town.

Perfect

It was great staying at Sunstar! We originally booked one night only but immediately decided to stay the whole trip here after arrival, Sondra is an amazing host and takes good care of us during the whole stay. I have tried different breakfast everyday and all wonderful!

Melhor café da manhã e excelente hospitalidade

Sondra é excepcional, com certeza você vai comer o melhor café da manhã de Anchorege lá. O quarto e o banheiro são fantásticos, a casa é linda e super limpa. Mas com certeza a melhor parte do local é a hospitalidade da Sondra. Treinei muito meu inglês, tivemos ótimas conversas sobre nossas culturas, ela nos ajudou com passeios e sempre garantiu que estivéssemos seguros. É notável que Sondra faz o que ama, pois faz tudo com dedicação e brilho nos olhos. Nos com certeza voltaremos para o Alasca e nos hospedaremos novamente lá. Agora temos uma amiga no Alaska!

Best place to stay... We want to come back soon

The place is warming and cozy. Details are alla around to make you feel at home. Sondra is a beautiful person. Her recommendations make our stay unforgettable. She is very kind and attentive to help. Of corse, her personalize breakfast while talk about great Alaska is priceless.

Our best B&B ever!

Nice rooms, great lobby lots of stuff provided and super friendly homeowner who will make your stay superior. The homeowner cooks fresh breakfast as you like and even juice and fresh fruits were included. All in all was this our best B&B stay so far.

The whole package! The host was very helpful and kind. She also responded quick if we had a question. The pictures say it all. Perfect! For us, the cherry on top was the sublime breakfast!

Superb

Sondra was an amazing host. She was well organized, helpful and super friendly. She provided all the necessities one could ask for, plus she cooked us a fantastic breakfast! I highly recommend staying at Sondra’s when you first arrive in Alaska because she’s a great source of information and tips!

Sondra is an amazing host! She knows what you need before you know what you need. Her cooking was great, I had breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, avocado, tomatoes on her homemade bread. Her latte would make Starbucks weep with pleasure! Thanks Sondra once again for a great experience. I’ll be back.

That she didn’t have an opening for me to stay longer.

The home was in a residential neighborhood which was quite, had a nice view and great neighborhood. The home was very clean and updated in a pleasant comfortable setting.

Lovely place to stay with a super friendly owner - recommended to stay!

The owner made us feel very welcome, she is very helpfull and acted on everything we needed. The place is modern and clean. The breakfast is outstanding, a lot of choice and delicious.

It is a bit far located from the center, although it is easy to order a taxi.

Both a wonderful place and B&B host.

We had such an incredible stay at SunStar! The home is beautifully designed, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable… and I’m completely blown away by Sondra’s hospitality. She is such a gem and by far, the best B&B host! She made an amazing breakfast (and latte!.. move over Starbucks). She upgraded our room when one became available.. gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Anchorage. She definitely went above and beyond to make our stay (and our entire Alaskan vacation) a memorable one.. and she did! I recommend staying here 10000%! (Just stop searching and book here, you’ll be happy you did!)

The lady who runs it is very nuce and si helpful and welcoming you into her home. She fixes you whatever you want for breakfast. I wanted chocolate milk and the next day she had it. Snd even made us to go cups and left them in the refrigerator for us the morning we left. You will love it there.

Exceptional

Sondra is an exceptional host! She has thought of everything to make her BnB feel like home. The best thing about our stay? The breakfast! As a vegan, I often expect to make/find my own food when traveling, but Sondra had me covered. She made me a wonderful oatmeal, fruit spread, and sweet potato hash that was the best meal I've had on my trip so far. She also made a great breakfast for my non-vegan family. Would definitely recommend SunStar to friends and family!

Bed and Breakfast atmosphere with hygge family home-like feel!

This was an amazing way to get transitioned from the hustle and bustle of real life to my vacation! Sonja was in contact multiple times leading up to my trip and greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm when I arrived. She even made me a bonus snack to save me a late night trip to the store. The home is beautiful…very comfy hygge crossed with clean lines and contrast. Then breakfast in the morning was next level! She made it to order based on our chat the night before and engaged me in trip planning and pointers while I ate. She welcomed me in the living room space after check out and held my luggage until my ride could arrive to pick me up, allowing me to take a little walk around the nearby park.

My only complaint was low water pressure in the shower.

Fantastic place to start your Alaskan adventure

We had a great time staying at SunStar Alaska. The rooms were fantastic, the breakfast options plentiful and cooked to order, and the host a great guide who knows the area and what's happening. Our hostess was well versed on the local area and can recommend dining options, activities, and sightseeing locations. She even know the local trails for hiking and running. Lattes on request at breakfast along with a good selection of fresh fruit. We had a great time and plan to return next time we're in Anchorage.

More options for cutting out the light at night. When it never really gets dark in the Alaskan summer, this can be an issue. We chatted with the hostess and she's exploring blackout curtain options in addition to the blinds.
