About this house rental
Welcome to the Salty Air Retreat! This home is an open floor plan, 4 BR 3 Bath home featuring a family room, formal living room, breakfast nook, power reclining sofa and loveseat, our most favorite spot - the pool and outdoor dining area. The master bedroom has a very nice walk in closet actually located in the master bath, nice master bath with a stand up shower and there is an entrance doorway directly to the outdoor lounging area from the bedroom. At the other end of the house are the other three bedrooms. The 1st bedrooms has both a futon and twin over double bunk bed and a smart TV - perfect for a kids' room. The 2nd bedroom has queen size bed and a smart TV. The third bedroom can also double as a master as it has its own attached bath and small deck. There is also a smart TV in this room.
Let's talk about the kitchen and dining areas. There is a formal dining room with seating for six and just off the kitchen is a breakfast nook area that seats 6. The kitchen features a lot of little extras including a Keurig Duo (you can choose coffee pods or a standard drip coffee), lots of coffee cups, a great spice rack, plenty of wine glasses and lots of storage containers for leftovers. The outdoor dining area has a teak table that also seats 6.
The family room and formal living room are great areas for gathering. The formal living room is really nice for conversation featuring a large plush sofa, two arm chairs and a monstrously large, oversized chair that is even more comfortable than it looks! The family room has a sofa and loveseat both equipped with power reclining features and a swivel chair as well. There is also a 65" smart TV.
And then we come to the glorious outdoor area. A gorgeous heated pool, lots of lounging seating and a storage box with pool noodles etc. You will find yourself drawn to this area even if it is raining because the dining area is covered. It is simply a great area to gather and have a great time swimming, lounging, floating, conversing, playing or reading.
You know, while we're at it, let's talk about some of the hidden creature comforts that come along with this home - an elevator, covered parking area, a grill (Weber Genesis), outdoor shower for washing off when you come from the beach or before you get in the pool, a kitchen island with barstools for grabbing a quick snack, three (3!) ovens and two (2!) refrigerators. Whew! That is a lot!
As most homes on the island, we were affected by Hurricane Ian and we are still taking care of some things around the home namely bringing our landscaping back to its original glory. UPDATE: You can see that our pool cage has been restored - complete with No-see-um screen to keep those critters out while you enjoy a a wonderful rest by the pool.
This home is only a .4 mile walk to the beach which should only take 7-10 minutes so come enjoy a trip to Sanibel. You will not regret it. The Salty Air Retreat is ready to welcome you in with open arms!

We definitely would have rated this property a five star except we didn’t have use of the pool for 6 days due to construction of the pool enclosure, the host was in contact throughout this process.
The home itself is beautiful and just what we wanted. It has a lot of room and all on one level. The elevator is a cool touch😊
We would love to stay here again.

House worked great for our party. Walk to beach location was fantastic, elevator was key for my elderly parents & Kevin always responded in a timely fashion. Would rent again.

I rented this house for a refrigeration company that worked on the island doing a remodel and repairs from Hurricane Ian. Their options were limited to either a hotel off the island or a house on the island. This house was ideal, it's on the island, it had multiple areas for relaxing, great lay out, close to everything and very convenient. I would definitely rent the house again.
