About this house rental
Welcome to our 1959 Mid Century Modern house on a tranquil canal in sunny Apollo Beach, Florida! Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a friends' trip, this house will add retro flair to your experience — with an unforgettable view.
Lounge on the deck, dock, or in the hot tub. Hop in a kayak and explore the canals. Enjoy one of the local beaches or take a day trip to Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Sarasota, or even Orlando.
Your vacation options are endless here!
The space
The canal view alone will put you in vacation mode, with a private outdoor space including a deck, hot tub, dock, and access to a paddleboard with paddleboard and two kayaks equipped with paddles, plus life jackets. (The jet ski pictured is not available for use.) But you are welcome to bring your own boat/ jetski or have a local fishing charter pick you up right from the dock.
The house itself offers a spacious living area and three bedrooms, with classic, bold, and whimsical details throughout. Enjoy speedy wi-fi and a 65” smart TV with access to local channels and apps like Amazon Prime, Netflix, The Roku Channel, and YouTube (accessible with your own login to those apps).
You’ll have everything you need, from fresh towels and premium bedding, to hotel-quality pillows, and a kitchen fully equipped with everything but the food and drinks for cooking and eating at your home away from home. Or, enjoy a char-grilled meal on the charcoal grill (charcoal not included) and a relaxing evening sitting around the fire table.
Note on the carbon monoxide alarm. This home does not have any fuel burning appliances, only electric, which do not produce carbon monoxide.
Guest access
This entire home, yard, deck, hot tub, dock, and canal are yours to enjoy.
You will receive instructions on entry access prior to check-in.
The laundry and second full bathroom are detached from the main house (across the breezeway). You will have access to these areas as well.
The backyard is fenced in; however, there is no fence along the seawall of the canal and no barrier to walk on the dock.
Other things to note
Hi y’all! We are John and Jayme from Tennessee. Jayme used to live in nearby Sarasota, FL, and we have family nearby, so the Tampa Bay area feels like our second home.
We enjoy traveling as much as possible and bring along our Old English Bulldog whenever we can.
John flips houses on the side, and we fell in love with this 1959 Mid Century Modern home on Flamingo Canal in Apollo Beach. Rather than flip this one, we decided to renovate and turn it into our own short-term rental, keeping the Mid Century character, of course. You won’t find a Florida beach house theme here!
We look forward to hosting you, and we value your helpful feedback.
The best we can hope is that at the end of your stay, you won’t want to leave.

Wonderful home to stay at. Our host John was very nice and was very communicative. The place is exactly like the photos. Very comfortable and spacious. The home had great amenities. The attention to detail was on point. Great for a short trip or long stay. Grocery stores are easily accessible and just a few minutes away. 5 Stars.

This was our first house rental and the experience was very good. A beautiful view of the causeway was a big plus for me! This house was an excellent base for our family visit and activities.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this fun retro house. The views are amazing and sitting on the dock was probably the best part of the trip and the thing that we made a daily routine of. We enjoyed sitting out during sunset and watching the fish jump in the canal. Very peaceful! The house had everything we needed including beach towels and plenty of space to stretch out. The hot tub was also a perfect place to sit and relax after dark. We have some friends that live in the area and they came over several times to enjoy the views as well as grilling out on the back deck. We plan to return to Apollo Beach and when we do I plan to book it again. John was very accommodating and reached out several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you John, and we look forward to coming back and staying again.
