Lovely village but parking impossible! Two pubs neither food for food but nearest nice for drink. Beds ok but a bit soft, biggest not a king size as advertised, second bedroom tiny no proper hanging space.
Cottage nicely furnished but very difficult stairs with grab rails and poor outside space, badly maintained with very steep stairs up to it.
Not value for money as too many things were a problem or missing , e.g. half size kettle, one cup caffe tier, mini freezer compartment iced up . Would not recommend booking with Bolthole Retreats as very unhelpful.

The Cottage is in a quintessential village, perhaps more remembered for being the location of the filming of Father Brown, than it’s history as one of the many mill villages.
Streets are very narrow, parking is difficult to find and there are no street numbers! The Red Lion Cottage is a wonderfully converted building that makes the best use of the space. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked. It would have been nice to have a Nespresso machine, something other Bolthole Retreat locations have.
There are many amazing country walks directly from the Village, which is also very central for touring other unique Cotswolds villages. The local pub is well run by Sri Lankans serving British and ethnic dishes. There is also a very good Village Hub coffee shop serving coffee and food all day.

Lovely stay, a great location and a clean warm , welcoming house . A small point, the back door did not open to access the bin and there were no clear instructions for discarding rubbish, which I think could be made clearer for future guests . Thank you
