About this cottage rental
Ellesmere is a terraced house near the top of a very steep hill in New Quay that is full of happy memories. For more than half a century it has been owned by the same family and three generations have enjoyed playing on the beach, messing about in boats, or simply escaping from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The house has been refurbished and tastefully decorated, making it a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. Enjoy a barbecue or picnic lunch from the garden with views of the sea or relax in the sunroom looking out over the town. Ellesmere is just a 5-minute walk from a sandy beach in the pretty multi-coloured seaside town of New Quay, which was once home to poet Dylan Thomas.
There are 3 sandy beaches, making it perfect for families. Dolphin-spotting boat trips can be taken from the harbour and there is a water sports centre where you can hire boats, boards, or kayaks. There are shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants close by. From New Quay it is easy to explore Cardigan Bay; the spectacular beaches of Llangrannog, Tresaith, Penbryn, Aberporth and Mwnt are all within half an hour. Walkers will love the Ceredigion Coast Path which passes through the town with miles and miles of stunning coastal scenery, dramatic cliffs and spectacular wildlife to discover.
