About this house rental

Kainani View allows you to enjoy all that South Hawaii Island has to offer, without the congestion, heat and ridiculous prices in Kona.
Instead of staying 2 hours from everything you want to do on the island, consider our 1400 Sqft new home as base for all your adventures.

You'll be located in the middle of the island, within range of South Point, Na’alehu, South Kona and Volcanos National Park in addition to unique Hawaiian beaches: pebble, black sand and green sand beach.

NEW custom home features a custom kitchen with quartz countertops, modern bathrooms and all new memory foam mattresses. 5 beds, sleeps 8.

When our family is off-island we like make our home available to allow others to experience all that the South side of Hawaii Island has to offer. The home is 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. A large kitchen with island is setup for entertaining you and your guests during your stay.

NEW as of March 2024... an outdoor shower, usable by all guests. Enjoy a unique Hawaiian shower experience surrounded by native lava rock harvested from our property and built by an authentic Samoan fire-dancer/rock wall builder.

*MBR is King bed, 60" smart TV, and has an on-suite bath w/ shower & laundry.
*BR2 is a Queen bed with a 32" smart TV
*BR3 is normally setup as 2 twin beds, but you can pull these together to make a King (we have both twin and king bedding), with a 42" smart TV.
*Living Room sofa is a Queen size pullout bed.

Dining table is set for 4, there are fold-up chairs in BR3 closet that an be added for 6 at the table, plus 2 stools at the kitchen island. (seating for 8).

The kitchen boasts quartz counters and custom cabinets. Oven with range, full size fridge, dishwasher, toaster oven...well stocked kitchen with utensils, cookware and dinnerware.
For coffee we have a drip coffee pot, a french press, a pour-over, aero-press and a bean grinder and espresso machine and a hot water pot...lots of methods to choose from. There's nothing like a good cup of Hawaii coffee while watching the sunrise.

Wifi is available and is very fast for if you have to do any work (while trying not to be distracted while staring at South Point and the ocean.)

Message with any questions about the hale (house) or about the area.
Mahalo Nui!

You will have access to the entire main hale (house) during your stay.

The front Lanai of the house is a shared space and can be used by both hale and ohana guests (the ohana is listed separately on Airbnb, but both can be rented together if an additional bedroom is needed.)

In the traditional Hawaiian style, there is no AC built into the house. The temps at 3600' elevation range from 55-85 degrees F all year long... and there is normally a breeze.
SO, if it's HOT: open the window.
If it's COLD: grab an additional blanket.

(Note: there is a small heater unit built into the wall by the fridge, I've only ever used this once. If you do turn this on, please ONLY USE IT when you are in the main area, and turn it off when you leave. Energy is VERY expensive on the island.

All toilets are modern and have a bidet, we do ask that you not flush any toilet paper or personal products, please put all paper products in the small cans and empty those as needed to the large can outside.

Most of Hawaii Island is on a catchment water supply, rainwater collected and run through a series of filters and a UV light system. So the water at the tap is highly filtered, clean and fully drinkable. Enjoy!

We've stayed all over Hawaii island before we purchased our home...we loved the South side of the island the most.

We price LOW ON PURPOSE in order to encourage folks to find and enjoy something different, away from:
*Kona Heat
*Hilo Rain
*Overcrowded with people (kona and hilo)
*Ridiculous vacation rental prices (our prices are nearly 1/2 to 2/3 less than Kona prices...and our house is brand new!)

If you choose to stay with us you still have access to grocery stores (less than 5 miles down the hill from the house), gas stations, coffee shops, Ace hardware and a few restaurants...and crazy awesome views of the ocean as far as you can see!

Distances to popular places on the island:
Kona -55 miles
Hawi - 95 miles
Hilo -80 miles
Volcanos National Park - 38 miles
Captain Cook - 25 miles
South Point - 25 miles

Please note: This is a legal and registered vacation home rental, Hawaii GET & TA Tax of 17.96% will be collected as part of the booking.
