About this lodge
Forest Cedar Lodge is a stylish lodge and is the perfect base in the heart of The Forest of Dean, where you can walk or ride your bike through one of the UK's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge is close to all amenities but also tucked away giving you a peaceful retreat in which to relax. If you love outdoor activities, cycling, walking or just want a break from the bustle of everyday life then this lodge is perfect for you.
The space
The lodge has a contemporary living area and kitchen combined, with a bathroom located on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including a fan oven and induction hob, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, dish washer and a washer drier. The bathroom has a huge walk-in shower and is bright and modern. There are electric radiators throughout the lodge, and an electric fire if extra heat is needed.
On request I have a high chair, baby bath, changing mat and a Hauck Sleep & Play travel cot/crib bassinet (please bring your own cot bedding).
Upstairs there is a large tranquil bedroom with a double bed, desk and chair, an reading chair, a set of drawers and clothes rail to hang clothes.
Outside there is a table and chairs where you can sit and relax. The lodge enjoys the sunlight all day in the summer and from the lodge you can see the Welsh mountains on a clear day. WE HAVE A COVERED SECURE BIKE STORAGE AREA FOR 4 BIKES, plus other outdoor gear (Please bring your own bike chains). The garden has the added security of cameras which will be in use throughout your stay. There is also an area for washing off bikes, so mud isn’t a problem.
The lodge has Wi-Fi and a smart TV (guests can log-in to their own Netflix/ on-demand accounts), sofa bed and in the kitchen, there is a table with chairs. There is a selection of retro board games, playing cards and books about the FOD for you to browse. I have also made a guide which is in the let informing you on lots of information about the area which includes places to eat/takeaways and local watering holes as well as local attractions.
Fresh bed linen, towels, tea & coffee to be provided on your stay.
A well behaved dog is very welcome and we offer a dog sitting service, see 'other things to note' below. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DOG'S BEDDING. Two dogs are the maximum I can accommodate and I charge £25 per stay. DOGS MUST NOT BE LEFT ALONE AT ANYTIME IN THE LODGE.
There will be a 'welcome' gift on arrival. If you wish to have a shopping order delivered to the lodge that's fine to arrange either prior to arrival or for once you are there.
Please do note that Forest Cedar Lodge is located within the back garden of the owner’s property and within close proximity to neighbouring properties.
The lodge is close to all the amenities of the forest including Go Ape, Puzzle wood, The Sculpture Trail, Beechenhurst, beautiful lakes at Cannop and Mallards pike and the cycle centre also at Cannop. Clearwell Caves (which has the most magical Christmas event), a must for children and adults alike, and Symonds Yat rock are also within a short drive.
The lodge is located on the bus route to Gloucester should you wish to visit. Here you can visit the cathedral, where scenes from Harry Potter was filmed. You can also visit the quays where you can shop in the designer outlet and eat at one of the many restaurants, cafe's and bars.
