Staff were great, but the fireplace was broken, which was the reason we paid extra for that room. There was a lot of other issues, including problems with door, shower, and toilet.

The property has not been kept up to date. The water at the sink wouldn’t even get luke warm and the handle on the shower broke in two when we tried to shower, water went everywhere!
The breakfast was ‘a bit to be desired’ as the saying goes.
And did I mention it is located about 50ft away from a working train rail that runs ALL night long!
The best thing this property had going for it is the view, but not enough to entice us to stay again.

Staff was amazing, a little sad that the pool and restaurant were closed. Location was excellent and both my daughter and I slept better than we normally do by a ton. I t was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. However, this trip was not the best. The pool was closed and filled with green algae. The sauna was closed because it was broke. The hot tub was not working correctly and obviously not well-maintained. The room, however, was cleaning comfortable. The view is always amazing. Staff was OK, but definitely not the friendly bunch we experienced in the past.

This place must have been great ( a long time ago)

Positive: complementary breakfast we didn’t know about, extremely friendly staff, right on City Beach and with great access to the lovely downtown of Sandpoint.
Negatives: very limited staff, rooms are extremely small and rundown, bathroom is even smaller, rooms are extremely outdated and need many repairs, ran out of towels one evening, pool was closed.

Very walkable to downtown.
Nice lake access.
Pool and sauna out of order.

Parking was nonexistent when we checked in. The hotel had let all the restaurant people park in guest room parking and when asked where we could park they side across the street. Which is very hard to do when you have all your luggage. Plus I had my mom with me and she is handicapped. The hotel also does not have enough handicap parking. Which makes made our check in even harder.

The hotel was very old and smelled very bad. The carpet was nasty and dirty. There was no elevator to the room and we had to climb stairs (my wife and I are in our mid 60’s with bad knees). My wife got nauseated from the smell after just an hour and we actually had to leave the hotel, and stay at another hotel in town. The hotel looked very little if at all like the pictures on the internet. We felt like the website was very deceiving. Perhaps the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.

Beach front location was excellent, with all units facing the beach. The patios/ decks are wonderful. The building is old, dated carpets. Pool was not functioning and the hot tub is not in great condition.
Staff are very good.

If you are planning to use the pool, call first and ask if it's open! It was a big bad surprise for us. The lake is very cold and they don't allow you to bring out towels, good luck dipping in the alternative to the pool, (that the hotel suggested... with no towels). The jacuzzi was alright until some guys came in with a big bucket filled with beers and nobody had a thing to say. But when you try to beat the crowds and go early with your kids, again surprise it's not open until 9 am, and the jacuzzi gets quite full. So, no swimming kids, on a trip intended just for that. My guess is we're not coming back. On the bright side, they're pet friendly, but the beach is not, so again... Think it twice, and call the hotel before making reservations if you have doubts.

Restaurant not open as advertised and swimming pool closed. For the price guests should be able to eat on property.

Location can’t be beat here. However it’s very pricey for just an old regular hotel.

Great location and staff. The hotel itself is old and run down, no upkeep has been done for a long time and not on top of cleanliness.
The worst beds, so old and uncomfortable.
Pool was green and was still open for the first half of our stay. Then they decided to close it. Housekeeping only available upon request.

Somebody left us a surprise in the toilet. The bed sheets weren’t clean and full of someone else’s hair. There were cobwebs everywhere including all kinds of dead small and large mosquito eaters. The fridge was not clean, we found old moldy cheese and turkey someone left in there not to mention a large pink drink that spilled and dried all over. The staff was very nice but I will never stay there again. Especially because we paid over $300 for one night.
