Overall, we enjoyed the weekend away from the town, but the resort is in need of a refresh. Our room wasnt cleaned properly, the sheets were dirty, the curtains didnt completely close for full block out and we had to request additional glasware and to top it off the sink had a large cip and several cracks int it. The day spa was the highlight as it is always. Fantastic service, very tranquil and relaxing and amazing tea! There is a little sheltered area on the back of the island that would make an amazing private beach "no kids" which would be fantastic for romantic picnics and sunset dinners, just needs to be cleaner.

Area around the property had a lot of debris. Bottles, plastic and paper washed in from the tides. It did not give a good impression of the resort.
They have to ensure that the debris are cleaned regularly around the property

A beautiful, safe haven only a short boat ride from the coast, and airport transfers included. From the moment we stepped off the ferry, we were impressed by the beauty of the resort and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Plenty to do to keep us happy for 5 days - walking, swimming, dining, relaxing by the pool, snorkelling, kayaking, day spa, and capturing photos of the amazing sunrises and sunsets. We absolutely plan to return!

Had a wonderful time. Room was upgraded complimentary (thank you)!
Pool was really nice and clean.
The footpath around the island needs upgrading too. It’s a lovely walk around the island if you get a chance but the rocks are a little hard to navigate.
My room was exceptionally clean and the view was spectacular. The ferry transfer was really prompt and the check in and check out process was efficient.
The entertainment on Independence Day was second to none, a real PNG cultural experience! We really loved the show.
All staff were very friendly especially the hotel manager, he really engages with the customers.
My only criticism is that the wait staff could have brought out drinks a little quicker. Had to ask for table water a few times, and I would have expected a higher standard for an upmarket establishment such as this. Or alternatively have the water bottles on the bar so we can just grab ourselves when it’s busy.
Other than that I really enjoyed visiting Loloata and can’t wait to come back.

Great Location and opportunty to get away from Port Moresby for a break. Unfortunately service has never been great at Loloata and contnues to be that way. The menu has been the same for years, they ran out of the wine we were drinking (on a long weekend) on Saturday night and the breakfast was very average with most stuff not available after 9.00am. On the plus side, the staff were friendly.

Loloata is undoubtedly a stunning resort, especially being so close to Port Moresby. But there was such a breakdown in service this trip that I can’t leave a 5 star review.

Loved it!
The only thing I can think of that would make it better is a beach area that didn't have sea grass and rocks. Didn't spend any time swimming in the ocean as I personally don't care for those conditions. BUT, because of the location/geography around the island probably nothing you can do about it. I know the resort offers snorkeling at another two nearby islands though and so that is an option.
The pool was lovely. The rooms were lovely and the people were lovely!
The expense makes recurrent frequent trips prohibitive but for an occasional indulgence it was great!

Check in is 14:00 hours.
I was advised by reception to come to the counter at 13:45 hours to check in. when I went to reception I was advised the room wasn't ready, come back in half and hour. this process happened till 16:00 hours when the room was eventually ready - why wasn't I told the room would be 2 hours instead of waiting. during this time I was not offered any form of compensation. The management needs to do something about customer service unfortunately it doesn't excite at this resort.
Trying to get served by waiting staff in the restaurant - the staff stand in huddles and talk amongst themselves, management need to be on the floor instructing and guiding staff, if you want to charge top dollar, provide top dollar service.

As always it was a very splendid stay. I highly recommend their Spa. As bringing food is strictly prohibited they should offer more choices for dinning as well as for snacks. Sorry but except for the spa, their management are not client oriented.

For a recently established private island resort, it’s got a lot of pluses and the activities to do once you’re on the island are plentiful and I have no doubt will be added to in the near future.
