The initial receptionist was ‘cool’ towards us on arrival. Other staff members were great, and on leaving the female receptionist was so helpful and friendly. It’s a great place to stay. Our bathroom still had previous occupants hairs in the shower, and there were clearly sewerage issues. The room itself was light, airy, and simple, buy comfortable. Had it not been for the initial check in, and the hairs in the bathroom, a definite 5 stars. It’s still great value, and don’t let a cold receptionist put you off, nor some hairs. Punta Brava is a great area 20 minutes from Puerto de La Cruz which is delightful.

Overall a good hostel with a nice rooftop terrace and very close to a beautiful beach. It was a bit odd for a 30 year old guy to share a dorm (6-bed) with women in their 70s, 50s and 40s, which is what happened to me.
Also I was a bit concerned about the security - the entrance door stays open during the day and anyone can come in and then enter the rooms.
Also the bunk beds are the simplest on the market e.g. not great - you feel every movement of the person sleaping above you. Also I’d prefer to pay a little less and sort out my own breakfast, the one provided wasn’t great, especially for a vegetarian.
