This hotel has its pros and cons, but it’s a place I’d happily revisit.
The location is fantastic—central and convenient for exploring the area. However, the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The only options were a sandwich or pancakes, and unfortunately, neither was enjoyable. If breakfast is important to you, I’d suggest planning to eat elsewhere.
We ended up staying in two different rooms due to a change of plans. Based on this experience, I’d highly recommend booking the modern Japanese room or a higher-tier option. Avoid the universal room if you can; it felt much less appealing in comparison.
The laundry facilities were a bit of a letdown. While the washer was fine, the dryer didn’t work well at all. If you need to do laundry, I’d suggest using the washer here but taking your clothes to a nearby dryer for better results.
Despite these hiccups, I’d certainly stay here again. The location and the charm of the modern Japanese rooms make it a worthwhile choice, and hopefully, they’ll have improved the breakfast by then! But if not, the local market is a fantastic option!!

The front desk are really helpful. I had problems with communications on my car bookings and Takayama tickets. They were so patient in helping me.
If you are a foreign guest , this hotel is great.
The rooms are spacious.
The soft jazz music in the lounge is lovely.
It’s location is great.
Lots of good eateries nearby.
Check out Cafe Basque for a lovely small restaurant with reasonable good Spanish food with good vibes. Prices are decent.

Enjoyed our stay. Rooms are awesome. Their onsite sauna was a let down as you have to make a reservation 2 hours before so they can get the sauna going…

The hotel's location is good but some time is spent to find the way to park the car.

Wonderful stay here! Stayed in August, air conditioning worked perfectly. Easy check in/out. We had luggage delivered to the hotel from Kyoto, easy to pick it up from the front desk. Staff were wonderful.
Hotel room felt newly renovated. The kids loved the bunk beds. Adequate facilities to prepare food- the kitchen area is very nice! Bathroom facilities were lovely- my husband loved the shower pressure, the kids loved the deep bath.
The area is right next to the train/bus station, but we were not bothered by road noise. The 2nd floor has laundry facilities, I was able to use them twice during my stay. We drove to Takayama, there is a car park across the road, and we were lucky to get a space all times bar one. We parked in the station (on the other side of the tracks)- it's cheap overnight. We then moved the car back to the normal car park in the morning before the price shot up.

- No info showing on the official webpage there is no staff in the hotel after 22:00
- No pin provided and there is no staff in the hotel, so we cannot get into the hotel, we have to wait outside of the hotel and call the hotline for asssistant for 1 hour at least
- Expedia reference number cannot be found by their system, so we cannot self check in

Communication was difficult, check in was a pain. Staff was a bit rude no gym some asked if we could walk the stairs (which are locked) and they wouldn't let us do that either They would not lock our bags in the morning (although the locked baggage area was empty). They said it was only for guest checking in. Room was nice and close to train station

A very convenient location within walking distance of the town centre. Very spacious and beautifully appointed apartment style property with a great hot tub.

Check-in is strictly at 3pm so if you are early, be prepared to leave your luggage first and talk a walk around the area. There are only 4-5 parking slots available within property so be sure to check-in earliest possible.
Plenty of amenities available in lobby for you to take, including bath robes and eye masks.
Rooms were big and the tatami area was comfortable to relax in. Beds were a little hard but still acceptable. It is like a serviced apartment where there are stoves and cooking utensils available, including microwave, spatula and tableware.
Housekeeping is only done every 3 days and this date is agreed during check-in. If you accidentally hung the DO NOT DISTURB sign on your door, you will have to wait another 3 days for housekeeping. This is non-negotiable and it happened during my stay. The night staff on the 3rd night agreed for housekeeping to be arranged on the 4th morning but it never happened. Reception staff even tried to downplay the miscommunication and bargained to not provivde more towels as it is 2 pax staying in a 4 pax room. Even if DND sign is out, staff is supposed to change towels and clear the rubbish but this did not happen. Reception staff again tried to dismiss this thus both my friend and I are thoroughly disappointed in this matter.

Just 2 mins walk from Nohi bus station. New & modern. I booked a superior twin room but they upgraded us to Executive Bunk which my kids loved the bed layout with single bed on upper deck. The room is spacious and clean.

This hotel has rooms with kitchens, which is great for a long stay. Our room was spacious and clean. The entrance of the hotel is cafe.
The young male receptionist in the morning looked unhappy to interact with the guests.
The hotel does not take any cash for the payment. Also, the hotel does not keep the luggage for the guests before check in/after check out as there is no space for it.

Kids loved the bed layout (single beds on upper deck). Room was wide, spacious and clean. Thoughtfully laid out room plan. Even had humidifier in room for winter!
Downside: cleaning of room only done after 4th night if staying longer than 3 nights.
Shout out to F&B staff Miyako-san who was most friendly and accommodating. Also spoke great English that made communication easier.
Thumbs down: young Matsumoto-san at reception that wasn’t very approachable and dismissed issues instead of finding solutions (I thought humidifier wasn’t working and informed him. Response was too bad s they can’t exchange it!).

Perfect place to stay in Takayama. We got a tatami room for 3 persons. Place is spacious with a nice balcony overlooking the city landscape. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Right next to train station and bus terminal to shirakawago. There is a kitchenette . The place is so clean and so comfortable. Morning market and ancient town is within 10mins walk. Highly recommended for a nice stay in Takayama.
