About this cabin rental
Experience our magical yurt tucked under the tree canopy overlooking our spring-fed mountain brook. This yurt is accessible on foot (a 5 minute walk uphill). We provide garden carts and sleds in winter to bring your gear into the yurt. The yurt does not have solar power, running water, or wi-fi. We provide oil lanterns, tea candles, 2-burner propane stove and heat by wood-stove.
Stay in an off-grid yurt and retreat in Maine's Western mountains and lakes region at Nurture Through Nature Eco-Retreat Center and return to balance.
There is no running water at your yurt; however, we do supply you with jugs of pure mountain water, and a compost toilet nearby. There is no bathroom in the yurt. There is a warm shower at the top of the access road, where you can refill your jugs for drinking, cooking and dishes. This is about a 2 minute hike. We provide the yurt with a propane camping stove for your simple cooking along with dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc. We provide wood to heat your yurt and you light the wood stove to keep you toasty!
IMPORTANT NOTES: You need to provide your own linens/towels and pillow and we recommend a 20 degree F. rated mummy sleeping bags in fall, winter and early spring.
Mosquito and black fly conditions vary. Peak exposure is between Mother's Day and Father's Day. Dress in light colored and loose clothing and bring your own favorite repellent.
We do not provide campfire wood. Please bring your own camp fire wood or gather it from the retreat land forest floor. We sell crates of camp fire wood for $5/crate.
This yurt is family friendly! Kids thrive here! Kids 8 and under are free and please let us know how many are in your group so we can set up the space accordingly.
We have a "self-check in" system. We suggest if you have never been here before, please arrive before dark. If you cannot, have a flashlight/headlamp handy upon arrival. Outdoor lighting is minimal or nonexistent, depending on conditions. A map is added to the photos under this listing.

Rural, countryside destination along a quiet, well-maintained, unpaved road. Forest, mountains, ponds, lakes, rivers, our own spring-fed mountain brook, wildlife, and clear skies.
We feel very remote and rural yet are accessible to nearby villages and towns for your sundries, ice, supplies, groceries, farmers markets, dining and the like.
What we love most about this part of the world is that the landscape, waterways, and mountains are so incredibly beautiful (stunning, really). And amidst the beauty, culture thrives, through art, music, dining and a warm, friendly, safe community of people surrounding this place, making it a getaway that feels like home.
We are grateful we get to share it and call it home, too.
