The hotel was overall great. Check-in was friendly and prompt, and service was provided in english also. Room was clean, although there were some marks in the carpets. Overall really nice and comfortable hotel.

I have been in France for nearly a month and this is the nicest place I have stayed in. Staff are very friendly, the hotel itself has character and the room I had was lovely. The room has a bath not only a shower, the bed was very comfortable and the linen wasn’t cheap and nasty like so many other places. Nice touches like candy on the bed, nicely packaged toiletries that might not cost the earth but create a very welcoming vibe. Room had USB charging a flat screen tv and the WiFi worked and was fast... great! I came to photograph a football match and the hotel is a 15 minute walk from Roazhan Park, the stadium of Stade Rennes, it was easy to get here from the station. I highly recommend this hotel, for sure I will come back, I wish there were more like it.

This is a little gem we found when our usual stopover was not available. This is one of those places you dont really want to share for purely selfish reasons. This is a little old fashioned, absolutely french. A bit quirky and spotlessly clean.
After the best nights sleep, the breakfast was the freshest and biggest croisants and pain au chocolat, and that was just the start, cold meats, cheese, coffee, freshly squeezed oranges, you put the oranges in the top and the juice came out of the bottom and that was just thr part of the offerring i managed.
Easy safe walking along the riverbank to the city centre and its excellent restaurants.

When I arrived the hotel appeared to be very much just average generally. Regretfully the room they had allocated to me was unavailable as the bathroom was out of commission with there apparently being a fault in the plumbing and the floor flooded. No other room available they booked me a room at the Campanile hotel. I was left to find my own way there but having stayed there many times before I was able to get there easily. Having stayed at the Campanile hotel many times I was hoping to find an interesting alternative. Sadly this was not to be. A disappointing experience.

Very misleading representation on Expedia as I believed I was booking a room in a tranquil area with a balcony. THERE ARE NO BALCONIES. We did not have a garden view (also as promised when booked)...Rooms are tiny (not a problem for one night) but bed is very hard and bathroom stinks because of poor sanitation. Only given one shower size towel and two hand towels for two people....
I would never stay here again ....booked as online it appeared to be a quirky independent hotel....it is not....fairly cheap but possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in....I am sure I could find better elsewhere.
Asked for a refund but nothing forthcoming so want to let others know before they make the same mistake I did.
On the plus side we found it easily and there is a bakery nearby where we got some croissants before leaving....

Love this quirky hotel! It's the second time we've stayed here on a trip to rennes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and attend to every need. Although the room is small it is spotless and quite adequate for a short stay. The retro/vintage decor is good fun although maybe not to everybody's taste. Breakfast is good value with plenty of tasty options. Free parking and just a short walk into the centre of Rennes make it a great choice for a short break. We look forward to staying here again!

This is a great place to stay when travelling on a budget. The rooms are priced fairly for what you will find at this kooky hotel: Comfortable beds, uncomfortable (but perfectly useable) bathrooms, & a nice big window. The decor of the rooms is dated but in a rather charming comical way. And the landings have great little historical installations... strange but true! And quite fun to check out. The hotel bar is another fascinating mish mash of French themes, and they have an outdoor picnic table nicely located under a tree that you can use (if you're travelly on a budget like us & trying to create some meals from the supermarket). The hotel is a bit of a walk from Rennes charming city centre, I would say 25minutes at a cracking pace or 40 minutes at a relaxed pace, but that was just fine for us. And there is also frequent & reliable public transport into the centre pretty much on the hotels doorstep. The staff were courteous and friendly, we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 2 nights September 2014, the hotel was very clean, had free parking and wifi.
we were able to walk along the canal to the city centre in about 20 minutes, a lovely walk.
The area was very quiet and relaxed.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was clean and decorated with vintage pictures and furniture that was neat. The staff was super friendly and helpful to us. The hotel has free wifi, free parking, and the breakfast is under 8 euro which is really reasonable for breakfast. It's about a 25-30 minute walk to the city center or there is a bus stop only a block away. We had rented a car so the free parking at the hotel was awesome and being out from the city worked well for us. We liked being in a more quiet neighborhood.
The downsides to this hotel were that the rooms were very small (but it is Europe, so that is to be somewhat expected) so we had pretty much enough room for the two of us and our bags. There seemed to be a miscommunication and the hotel only thought we had one person staying instead of two so other rooms are probably a bit more spacious for that. Another thing is the plumbing is really loud. We stayed on the top floor so it wasn't a problem, but I couldn't help thinking the lower floors might get the brunt of this noise. Even with these minor things, the hotel was great and I would definitely recommend it.

Clean, well serviced hotel in Rennes suburbs, 10 mins on bus or 20 mins walk to city centre. plenty of hot water with bath/shower. Clean towels and sheets every day. Comfortable bed plus TV, telephone and WIFI access. No cuboards or anywhere to store clothes. Expedia info stated that breakfast not included. What it should also state is that buffey breakfast is available to purchase as it was very good and plenty of choice. Particularly important as hotel is some way from nearest cafe. Interesting collection of 50's/60's items around as decor. We enjoyed our stay.

Clean hotel located on the west side of Rennes--easy access if headed for Brittany.Honored our reserv. even though full. Restaurant not available for dinner and had to eat breakfast at the bar since a conference was in the dining room doing presentations. Management was nice and we would stay there again if heading toward Brittany.
