Castle Hill Cottage is a spacious two-storey holiday let in the village of Bassenthwaite, a 12 minute drive from Keswick. This beautiful property is excellent for family and friends who love to visit the stunning Lake District National Park whilst enjoying quality time together! Guests will be able to enjoy a number of peaceful hikes and sights when staying at the tranquil Castle Hill Cottage.
The Space:
Sleeping up to eight guests across four bedrooms, Castle Hill Cottage is the perfect retreat in the Lake District National Park.
The property boasts two living rooms, both equipped with large Smart TVs that have Freeview channels too, along with two luxurious, relaxing sofas.
Fitted with a whole range of amenities for self-catering, including an AGA oven, the kitchen at Castle Hill Cottage is a wonderful space for cooking and socialising. Sharing the space is the dining area which comes in the form of a large traditional-style dining table where you can enjoy evening meals as a group.
On the first floor, you’ll find four bedrooms – one super-king which can be split into into singles upon request, one king room, one twin room and one bunk room, making Castle Hill Cottage ideal for holidays with friends and family alike. All four bedrooms come with ample storage space so you can make yourself right at home when staying here. Please note that the bunk beds are only suitable for children.
You’ll find two bathrooms at Castle Hill Cottage. Both fitted with bathtubs, wash basins and WC’s, these spaces are well equipped. One bathroom also offers a separate walk-in shower bonus.
This property really is a gem in the Lake District National Park. With its roomy layout and design, along with marvelous furnishing style and the countryside views, guests are guaranteed an unforgettable self-catering experience.

The keys to Castle Hill Cottage are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to check-in.
There is room for at least three cars, possibly four, on-site and EV charging facilities are available. There is also a parking bay across the road which can be used if necessary.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Castle Hill Cottage per reservation. Please note that there is quite low level wire fencing on part of the garden perimeter facing onto a field of sheep, so this wouldn't be suitable for dogs to be left unattended.
No noisy groups/parties are allowed at Castle Hill Cottage. Bassenthwaite is a peaceful village and we ask that guests respect this.
A generous initial supply of wood is provided. Guests will need to provide kindling and firelighters. Additional supplies can be arranged and full details will be provided prior to check-in.
