L'emplacement était vraiment top. Appartement agréable au demeurant mais il ne faut pas trop regarder dans les détails.

Le bruit : appartement très mal insonorisé, on entend chaque fait et geste des voisins. Hostel à côté qui a donné un concert : on avait l'impression qu'il avait lieu dans l'appartement. Le bruit de la rue est assourdissant même les fenêtres fermées : klaxons, sirènes... La douche est un autre point noir : pas de douchette, peu de pression et nous avons commencé notre séjour par déboucher le syphon (j'en ai encore des hauts le cœur) Il manque également une armoire ou une penderie pour les vêtements. Nous y avons dormi 5 nuits et avons rangé nos affaires sur les chaises pliantes. Le point d'eau à côté du lit est certes très sympa mais inutile. Ou alors, placer le miroir juste au dessus aurait été plus judicieux.

Very enjoyable - a perfect place to stay for a few days/nights to see the main sights of Porto

Great location near the river and restaurants etc. Apartment had real character with lots of quirky odds n ends. I can imagine it being a studio for an artist a hundred or ore years ago!

It was a bit noisy - both from outside (expected because of the location) but also from above where whoever was staying there seemed to drag the furniture around lot on the stone floor!

Location was perfect, being so close to the riverfront made it so easy to walk down and be in the middle of all the activities.

Fabulous apartment, noisy location

The host was present at just the right time for my arrival. Lovely large apartment with everything I needed including kitchen items. The bed was super comfortable. I loved the artists materials left out to use though didn't have time to use them. Great use of vintage furniture, the apartment had an eco/sustainable vibe to it. The location was fabulous being right in the centre of the main Ribeira tourist district. Despite this, there is a very cheaply priced local mini-market, Mercado S. João just over the road selling amazing fruit and vegetables as well as other groceries.

However, location not so great at night when Wednesday through to Sunday there was loud music and people enjoying the bars along the Praca da Ribeira - to be expected. What was less expected was to be awoken on several nights by groups of motorcycles doing rounds and revving their engines to the most unbelievable volume. Then 3am every night the large recycling bins outside the apartment block are emptied by a lorry with a crane - not quietly. The secondary glazing is helpful in reducing the sound, however, in the warmer summer months this means the windows cannot be opened and there is no ventilation. A useful fan is provided.

Beautiful Porto apartment

The apartment was stunning! The shower is incredible, just what you need after a long day walking around Porto. We couldn't have asked for a better location to see the main sights.

I think it was out of the control of the apartment owners- but during our stay the apartment above was being renovated and there was some drilling at times. However, this didn't stop us enjoying our stay.

The street garbage bins are right outside so the garbage collection wakes you up before 5am. This can be expected from staying in a city and is obviously not in the control of the hosts but I’d suggest they supply earplugs.

While the location was what we had hoped for, the overall experience here was not.

Location near the river was good, the place itself was airy and clean enough.

Shower leaked water all over the floor, not enough towels were provided for use in the toilet room and kitchen. Seemed odd that we were asked to leave an additional 2 euros per night for a travel tax which we were notified about on entering. Noise from adjoining apartments continued long after street noise had lessened causing us to joke about what they must have been dropping upstairs through the night.

Amazing stay

What an amazing property! The location is great – you'll see tourists walking up and down the street all day, but at the same time it's very peaceful. Just look out the window and you'll see the beautiful river Douro. Walk down and you're right by the river, with a lot of restaurants and the opportunity to just sit back and rest; walk up and it's easy to get to the city centre (it's a short, if hilly, walk to the São Bento station). The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful: it's an old building, and the owner has kept the historic feel while adding a modern bathroom and kitchen (and a big comfy bed). Plus, as you can probably tell by the pictures, it's got *so* much personality! The host was very nice and helpful too.

There was a little miscommunication between me and the host and I had to wait around half an hour outside for her to arrive – be sure to arrange the arrival time properly!
