About this villa rental
Villa Olivade is a one-bedroom Provençal villa situated on the beautiful, privately gated, Domaine du Piol. Domaine du Piol's elevated position gives it unrivalled views to snow-capped mountains and the sea. The villa benefits from the sun starting in the early morning and throughout the day until it sets directly in front of the west-facing balcony. Throughout the day, you can enjoy the sunshine and views from either the balconies, the terrace or the sun deck. All of which are on different levels and all offer those essential, amazing views of the Cote d’Azur.
The balconies, large terrace and lower garden area are all private and exclusive to Olivade. No other property on the domaine offers the same amount of privacy or views.
The terrace has a large shaded Pergola with seating for 4 persons and garden lights mean you can eat late into the evening. Multiple adjustable wooden sun-beds on the terrace can be used for sunbathing or walk down to the lower sun deck which sits amongst palms, bamboo and grasses and is also equipped with adjustable sun-beds & parasol.
Villa Olivade Features: The villa is beautifully appointed and decorated throughout with stylish furnishings, marble bathroom, super-king wooden bateau-lit bed, quality kitchenware, air conditioning and WiFi.
You have a choice of areas for dining either inside or out including either our balcony on the top level or beneath the pergola on the terrace. There are many pretty spots to sit outside in the gardens and enjoy a glass of wine all offering different views either to the sea, mountains or surrounding area and villages.
There is a large, shared swimming pool on the Domaine with views to the sea and the Mountains.
Parking is right outside the villa. The parking is covered which is essential in the summer.
St Paul de Vence: The Medieval village of St Paul is just a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute drive away. Here you can stroll through the cobbled streets and enjoy some of the finest art available or watch petanque being played by the locals whilst enjoying a drink in the Cafe de la Place.
Opposite the Cafe de la Place is the famous Colombe d'Or. Voted one of the top 10 restaurants in the world, the Colombe D'or has the largest private collection of artwork in the world from Piccasso as well as work by Matisse and Renoir. Although a regular haunt for the rich and famous, the staff of the Colombe D'or makes everybody feel welcome.
An evening walk around the ramparts is recommended to catch the amazing sunset and see the swallows fill the sky. If you prefer, you can enjoy the same sunset from the villa!
The Côte d'Azur: The A8 which runs along the Cote D'Azur is just 10 minutes from Domaine du Piol and is your fast track to the most famous coastline in the world! Destinations such as Nice are just 15 min, Cannes 30 min, Eze 25 min, Monaco 30 min, Menton and the Italian border 35 min, .... the list goes on.
Heading out beyond Saint Paul there are many beautiful villages such as Vence, Tourette Sur Loup, Gordon and Grasse as well as famous institutions such as the Maeght Foundation, Ville Emprussi de Rothchild and National Parks like the Mercantour and Massif de l’Esterel.

The layout and condition and view from the villa are all fabulous, but the best thing about the property is the host, David Tyler.
He is the most responsive, congenial, helpful host ever!
We would go back in a minute!

We came to St Paul de Vence for a week to prepare for a larger family gathering. Villa Olivade was the perfect spot for that. It was quiet and well appointed. The owner had thought of everything and was available by text to answer questions. We highly recommend this charming villa.

You can see from the pictures that from both the master bedroom and the living room and kitchen what the view are--quite amazing. What you don't see is how well equipped the unit is and how informative and responsive the owners are. All these combine for a memorable stay.

Villa Olivade is a magical place!
We had an amazing 5 night stay at Villa Olivade! Everything was perfect from the views of the lovely countryside to the sea in the distance. The villa was perfectly situated for either exploring the coast or the inland areas. The villa was well equipped and furnished.
Sitting outside in the garden patios was one of our favorite past times, very peaceful and quiet.
David and Sally were a delight to deal with. And, their attention to detail was extremely helpful. They were extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions.
Thank you David and Sally for letting us experience your dream!

Wonderful stay.
This villa felt like home. It was beautifully appointed in the provencal colors. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen well stocked with even paper towels etc. There was alot of helpful information from the owners and they answered any questions almost immediately. And the view was spectacular. Though St. Paul de Vence and a large modern mall were nearby, it was necessary to drive, for us. That was our only complaint and not with the owners. Many sites were nearby such as Antibes, Grasse etc. A very lovely stay. Would love to be there in the summer and use the lovely terrace, garden and pool.

Perfect holiday
We are just back from 2 ideal weeks at Villa Olivade and still very enthusiast.
Booking the villa was very easy as David and Sally-Anne have been very informative, helpful and always quick to respond to any question or request.
The location is ideal if you want to visit the region…..Antibes, Monaco, Menton, Eze, Tourettes sur Loup, Nice…..etc.
The elevated position of Domaine de Piol gives an amazing sea and mountain view.
The villa is very well furnished and everything is there to have a comfortable stay.
The share pool, very clean and quite, is only 1 mn walk from the villa
We thoroughly recommend Villa Olivade if you are looking for perfect holiday in a charming place

Wonderful villa
We had a wonderful stay in the villa, which has superb views and fantastic amenities. David was excellent in responding to our initial enquiry, answering our questions etc and gave extremely useful information about the area and restaurants to visit. We would definitely love to return and have already recommended Olivade to our friends. Many thanks David and Sally Ann!

We book 2 or 3 rental properties a year in different places, however an annual trip to the South of France has become established these last few years. We usually find it difficult finding a good quality property for 2, with outside space and a pool, and often end up having to book (and pay for) a larger property than we need. Domaine du Piol has been a real find - this is our 4th stay, and our second in Villa Olivade. This is our favourite due to the open space it provides on 3 levels as it’s built on a hillside, with 180° views to the south and west so it gets the sun on one of its terraces all day. The villa itself is furnished well and everything is provided. There’s every kitchen utensil to cater a gourmet meal, although our holiday cooking is more of the cold meat/cheese/salad/baguette supper after a nice lunch in one of the excellent restaurants nearby. Then it’s lovely sitting on the balcony with a glass or two of wine watching all the lights come on and the stars twinkle. The bedroom is also well furnished, with a very comfortable bed, and plenty of storage for clothes etc. The communal pool is very large and well kept. In late July there were only a few people in there; we’ve also been in August when it was a bit more crowded but still able to find a couple of spare sun beds. I’m sure we’ll be back.

A BEAUTIFUL VILLA, STUNNING UNIQUE LOCATION
We recently returned (reluctantly) from an eleven-night stay at the fabulous Villa Olivade. We fully experienced perfection in every way, I’ve immediately booked to return later this summer, that rather sums up the quality of our experience there, (it is understandably very popular, so book early to avoid disappointment).
The villa is beautifully appointed with three levels of outdoor space facing south & west; therefore it benefits from full day sun (but with shady options should you prefer). Uninterrupted views from the Domaine’s unique elevated position reach all the way to Antibes and the mountains to the west. We did walk around to get a feel of the other villas we had seen available for rent on the Domaine, amazing views from all aspects, but none compared to the views from Villa Olivade, it truly is one of a kind, the brightness, the airy, open, refreshing feel in spite of the heat is wonderful.
The villa has everything you could possibly need. The rooms are bright & spacious, a beautifully appointed bathroom, plus an additional WC off the bedroom space. The kitchen is large, thoroughly equipped with new appliances; the extensive large work surfaces were super for food preparation (even by two people). The addition of a second larger fridge/freezer in a secure store on the terrace was totally appreciated (it minimalized the need for multiple supermarket trips). The store also houses an excellent bike for your use and secure storage for your own bike should you wish to bring one (speak to David about that!).
David & Sally-Anne are fabulous hosts, utterly helpful and informative, always available and quick to respond. They provide a comprehensive information pack before you arrive. David & Sally-Anne have lived in France for many years, you have the privilege of their experience, they truly are a source of all knowledge over there.
We chose not to hire a car, as we wanted to stay local to the area on this trip. We met with Lionel (David’s taxi recommendation); he was lovely, charming & punctual. For long or very short trips we would strongly suggest using Uber, very efficient, smart cars with good availability. Economic to use, Nice airport to the villa 28e, St Paul to the villa 6e.
There are many excellent restaurants in the area (do your research before you arrive as the most popular require advance booking). Our favourites were (as in the past), La Colombe d’Or (we book three months in advance), Le Tilleul, Alain Lorca.

Nice villa, beautiful view, very well located, within walking distance of St.Paul de Vence.
Nice setting, recently renovated, ideal for day trips to Monaco, Eze, Nice, Cannes, Grasse, etc. You can walk up to St.Paul de Vence for lunch or dinner. We really enjoyed our stay. Owner is friendly and reachable. Will surely return one day!

This property has everything you could wish for and more!
This is our second visit to Les Olivades. The property has a rustic feel with every modern convenience. We immediately feel at home as soon as we arrive. The rooms are airy and beautifully furnished. The kitchen has every appliance that you could possibly require. The views from the terrace are stunning. The outlying villages are some of the best in Provence, their restaurants and cafes first class. We will be back next year!

Beautiful villa with spectacular terrace views!
We had a perfect one week stay in this villa. One of the best features is the large French doors in both the living room and bedroom that let you soak up views of the Mediterranean Sea, mountains and lush landscape. There even is a big window in the kitchen with its own sweeping view! We really enjoyed having morning coffee on the balcony and wandering down to the lower terraces with a glass of wine at sunset. You feel like you are perched on a cliff overlooking the South of France...because you are!
The interior is spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very large with high-quality appliances and all the equipment you need to whip up an omelette or a gourmet meal. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and plenty of closet and storage space. Bathroom is beautiful with Italian marble topped double vanity, blue and cream French tile work, and a good shower. (There’s also a second half-bath.) Living room has plenty of seating and a television set up to get several English-speaking channels like SkyNews, BBC, and CNN.
This villa is very private and secure. It is within a nice gated community, built on a hill and filled with unique stone homes. We didn’t use it, but the shared pool looked crystal-clear and was only a minute away. Make sure you check out the view of St. Paul de Vence and the mountains from the parking area! Perfect place for a great “selfie”!
Working with the owners was very easy. David sent us lots of info ahead of time and has directions for EVERYTHING in a kitchen drawer, in case you might have a question. He even recommended and made reservations for us at La Colombe d’Or, a historic restaurant with a superb collection of art by Picasso, Miro, Calder, and other greats. It was a highlight of our vacation!
It really was difficult for us to leave this villa at the end of our stay. What a great find!

A real home away from home
Olivade is a cozy villa with fabulous views of the mountains, sea and sunsets. We enjoyed breakfasts and many dinners on the balcony taking in the French countryside. Charming decor, excellently appointed, luxurious linens and monogrammed bathrobes! Over the top, helpful, responsive owners!

Utter bliss!
After a really busy year we were looking forward to a relaxing holiday and we weren't disappointed! As soon as we arrived at Les Olivades, we felt completely at home. The facilities, decor and general ambiance were all that we had hoped for. Although we knew the area quite well we decided to visit the tourist office in St. Paul de Venice. I wanted to know when the local markets were held! We spent our mornings visiting beautiful hill top villages such as Mougins and Biot to name a couple. We usually had lunch out and as David recommended, the Café de la Place in St Paul does a very good Plat du Jour. Then back to the villa to relax, read and snooze. If anyone wishes to visit the Colombe d'Or I would advise reserving a table before your holiday. They were completely booked for lunch and dinner for three weeks! We did go for drinks one evening and were able to view the art collection. Our evenings were spent mainly sitting on the terrace with a bottle or two of wine, some pâte and cheese and the view. The villa was everything we could have wished for and more. We will be back!

Beautiful apartment with stunning views
We spent two very comfortable weeks at Olivade. David could not have been more helpful with suggestions as to where to go and what to do and provided clear information about the apartment, arrival was completely stress free. We had everything we needed. We had intended to eat out more in the evenings but the apartment was so agreeable that we did so only a handful of times. The balcony and terrace were lovely and felt very private, there is a lot of outside space which suited all times of the day and requirements. We slept soundly and despite the heat didn't feel the need for the air conditioning - we used it only a handful of times when we got back after a long hot day touring around. There seemed to be a cooling breeze most evenings which was lovely. We had a small car (which we were grateful for with all the narrow roads) and visited a great deal inland and along the coast, there is so much to see and do! We would highly recommend Olivade and would definitely return.

Happy holiday
A perfect hideaway for two. The property is perfectly located for visits to St. Paul de Vence, Nice and the surrounding area and is fitted with everything we needed, especially an excellent air conditioning system and King bed (not common in France). There are several other properties in the Domaine, but we enjoyed complete privacy. The large heated pool was a joy, especially at breakfast and evenings when we often had it totally to ourselves. On the rare occasions we had questions, the owner David was responsive and informative. The level of service he gave on email was impeccable and friendly. We hope to go back and enjoy this beautiful and tranquil oasis in the future.

The perfect spot for a romantic getaway
What a great week! The villa was exactly as described, with everything my wife and I needed to enjoy our time there. We didn't want to stay in the middle of everything in one of the beach towns, and we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space and mountain views while being close enough to easily head to any beach area we wanted. Since we got home, I've been missing our daily breakfasts overlooking the magnificent vista. Thank you David and Sally!

Beautiful location
We spent a wonderful week at this comfortable well-equipped location with a magnificent vista.
We did not have a car but fortunately met Lionel Merle at the owner's recommendation who was a wonderful tour guide. He was always exactly on time and had an enormous amount of knowledge about the history and beauty of the area.
David was always available and helpful by email or phone--a superb host!

Stunning vistas--charming space, perfect location
Kathy and I recently stayed for 2 weeks at Villa Olivade. It was a perfect choice to explore and experience the French Riviera. The photographs on the website are entirely accurate in their description. Yet they do not capture the feeling of the space; the beautiful morning and evening skies with the broad horizons available for view from the bedroom and the living room.
The location is ideal for exploring the coast both east and west--as we did, from Menton to Saint-Tropez. And it is close to so many charming hill towns and villages, from nearby St. Paul de Vence to Vence, to Gourdon, Mougins, Biot and so many more. The trip to the Gorge du Verdun was exceptional. Careful driving on weekends, as cyclists by the hundreds will share the road with you.
David and Sally have made the space warm and inviting. And they are truly wonderful hosts--extremely responsive and engaging, seeking to ensure those who have the privilege of sharing their villa will have a memorable experience.
We will always treasure the two weeks we stayed in Villa Olivade. We highly recommend that you seek out this treasure as well.

Just fantastic
We received a wonderfully complete brief about the villa before we left the UK. The villa was exactly as described, quiet with brilliant views all around.
Internally it was spacious, light, well equipped and a joy to be in.
The locality was an ideal base for tours inland or down to the coast.
We thoroughly recommend the villa and the helpful owner; can't wait to revisit.

Beautiful villa with a gorgeous setting above countryside and sea
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Olivade in early March. It is the perfect holiday home, comfortable and charming, perched high above the landscape with views of the Mediterranean. David was such an excellent and helpful host, and provided many details about the villa and the surrounding area. The kitchen was equipped with every possible tool for preparing occasional meals -- such as just-caught fish from Cagnes-sur-Mer and local markets. The supremely comfortable bed, lovely linens, large towels, and bathrobes were elegant. Sitting outside on the various terraces amongst flowering plants, rosemary, and olive and pine trees was a treat, and the weather was warm and sunny. We enjoyed day trips to Menton, Eze, Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Tourrettes-sur-Loup, and a short ferry ride to Ile Saint-Honorat. Lunch on the patio at La Colombe d'Or and a visit to the Fondation Maeght were a festive end to the week. A lovely visit!
