We have visited The Rock on several occasions & always enjoyed it. The balcony & views are amazing & the staff are always excellent. The bar & outside terrace are great too.

Fantastic room with view and balcony over the bay. Would absolutely stay again when next in Gib. Staff really helpful and friendly. Only gripe was the pool being closed but this was not the hotels fault as it rained heavily the previous day and needed to be cleaned.
All good.

The room had a great view over the straight of Gibraltar. We even had a visit from a monkey who appeared on the balcony then to our surprise he ventured into our room.
A guest around the pool playing Bob Marley on his remote speaker. No thought for anyone else who was relaxing.

Wonderful location, friendly staff, beautiful pool, spacious rooms, calm atmosphere.
Very little to complain about with this wonderful hotel.

It's got that old colonial feel about it, a little out of the town but still handy for everything. The catering is really good and they probably should blow more of a trumpet about the standard of the restaurant food. Slapped all of our drinks and ad-hoc meals onto the room and was pleasantly surprised at the final tally, though we didn't just eat in. Rooms are light and airy, always clean.
Just the final 30m up the hill back from town! However, Gib has a cracking little bus service (stops outside) so after a large dinner and drinks even going two stops was worth it!
Nothing really negative at all.

I was hesitant at first to stay at a "historic hotel". Sometimes such hotels are wonderful in sense of place and history, but they can also demonstrate that their best days are indeed in the past. Not so with The Rock Hotel! The service was excellent, and the staff were wonderful. We stayed eight days. We frequented the restaurant (which we had not necessarily planned to do) and every meal was very good. We used the pool and the pool side service. We even sent out laundry and all was well done. For a historic hotel it was in excellent condition. The location was a few minutes from main street and the cable car. There even is a bus stop very near the hotel. It was our first time in Gibraltar, and we felt we made an excellent decision to stay at the Rock Hotel. Lastly, we stayed in a junior suite. We made daily use of the table and chairs provided. It was a larger space than the photos seemed to indicate and there were two balconies not one!
There is not much we didn't like. The only suggestion I would have to offer is to install a grab bar for exiting the bathtub/shower. Also, a hook near the tub for the towel or bathrobe. There is not much not to like about the Rock Hotel.

Clean and the staff were outstanding
Housekeeping ignored our sign not to clean the room, 2 days in a row.

I travelled solo for my 60th birthday and had an absolute wonderful time. Gibraltar is stunning, a short flight from the UK, and the hotel was so stunning with very accommodating staff

The property needs some TLC, it living on its past reputation and needs to take care of maintenance

Everything was great. We had dinner at The Rock's Terrace Restaraunt which was outstanding. You should do this.
It was disappointing that in a four star hotel with the historical reputation of The Rock including the many famous people who have stayed that the vanity unit in the bathroom was badly chipped and worn.

Classic look and feel. Excellent breakfast and staff.
Too few outlets for modern electronic gizmos and slightly off the beaten track.

British style! Our stay in this famous hotel was extraordinary: A comfortable room, a nice balcony and a spectacular view on the ocean were really enjoyable. Very good breakfast to start the day with.

Everything about the Rock Hotel was fabulous. The room was a beautiful two room suite overlooking the harbor. Parking was conveniently located near the front door. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a generous breakfast buffet. We were walked from the hotel to both the nearby cable car and city center shopping area. Every staff member provided exemplary service.
That we couldn't stay longer!

All rooms serviced daily, clean with adequate space and very tidy - beds comfortable and views spectacular over Gibraltar bay
Stayed here many times - very little to dislike - even the prices for bar meals and drinks are reasonable - only drawback its a walk into town and uphill all the way back but not bad unless you are very immobile.

Great view, nice pool, good service & friendly staff
Bit noisy as it’s on the main road, bit of a hill to climb but not too bad

The staff were so friendly which made our stay that much more enjoyable nothing was to much for them.
Breakfast was on a different level so much choice worth having.
Bar menu was also very good.
We will definitely be going back again.

Such friendly 5star service right from the first "Hello". Abdullah is Trip Advisor famous and honestly we could not have picked a more perfect spot. We were looking for somewhere to visit regularly as a bolt hole away from the UK winter months and we have found it in The Rock Hotel. We'll be back in January!
Honestly, there was nothing to fault

Brilliant place with the balcony overlooking the bay and Marocco. Reception staff were also brilliant. Breakfast was a bit chaotic with the tables not being tidied and reset - probably not enough staff; Food was pretty 'functional' - short on healthy fare.
Breakfast and food menus generally.

The location is a little far from the main town but it is walkable or you can catch the bus near the hotel or get a taxi for around £10. The outside terrace of the hotel is lovely to eat at and the view in the evenings with the sunset is beautiful. The pool closes a bit early @20h and does not open until 10am which is a pity! The pool area is a bit untidy as chairs are not constantly reset & area could have leaves etc brushed up! Also the filter needs to run more in the pool to keep away any dead insects bees leaves etc from swimmers. Hotel is a great hotel & should be fantastic with some minor changes
Service in the pool needs to change! Access to pool needs to be extended

The high tea was marginal.
