Microwave & fridge and layout of kitchen space
Coffee maker had no filters. Lack of cutlery

A fairly spacious apartment with a reasonable kitchen
We were at the front of the building and there was a lot of road noise and talking outside, especially just after midnight when the ferry had arrived. It seemed quite expensive for what it was but then all of Prince Rupert accommodation seemed expensive.

We’ll located. Clean. Simple. Parking was good. I’d stay there again.
Needed more than 2 towels but was not sure where to get them as we arrived back late each day. An extra set would have been helpful. A fan in the room would be a good idea. They did supply coffee supplies, soap…no tea towels just napkins.

The place was very comfortable. Having a kitchen made it feasible to bake a salmon that we caught and to cook crabs that were caught. Within walking distance of the port.

We stayed at The Black Rooster for 2 nights, and didn’t want to leave. The apartment was clean, up to date, well furnished and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. We arrived by ferry, and it was VERY late. Not a problem for the staff. We will be staying here every time we come to town.

I had access to a kitchen with a big fridge with freezer where I could store my food after being delayed a day on the ferries which was nice.
Although my room itself was warm it was a little bit cold in the common areas as nobody else was staying in the building which was fine as since it is off season and I had not reason to use common areas.

I stayed here on two separate occasions within two weeks of each other for one night only on each occasion. My first stay was in a beautiful Queen Room that was larger than I expected and spotlessly clean. The room appeared to have been recently redone with nice and new flooring, a shower, sink, etc. I was impressed, especially after having read the other reviews for this spot.
I appreciated the strong wifi, friendly staff, late check-in times, and the ability to keep my (small) luggage in the office for the day even after I had checked out.
On my second stay, I was "upgraded" to the studio apartment, and I would not recommend booking this room. It was dark, felt old, dirty carpet, leaking shower, etc. If you can book in the nice, newer part of the guesthouse, I would definitely stay here again, but for the rooms in the older part of the property, I'll pass.

Location was perfect. lots of parking. easy access. friendly staff. It had laundry facilities. The decor was lovely. Security access was good. Facilities were clean.
There were things broken; a piece of microwave was missing. Something was hanging from a wire on the wall. The kitchen supplies could use replacement. The laundry room folding door was missing as was the lint collector in the dryer.

location, staff

This place is awesome! Staff are super friendly, rooms are big and have all the amenities. Nice balconies and view of mountains from some the rooms. I will definitely be back.
The location is a little outside of the main zone, but this is only a very minor inconvenience because in Rupert nothing is really that far away.

Great place, walking distance to downtown great check-in experience.

Clean. It's away from the noise of downtown. The kitchen area is huge.
The walls were thin and any talking or laughing is easily heard. While I was there, there was a boil water advisory in town and the check-in person couldn't tell me definitely that there was a water filter installed. It made me reluctant to even take a shower, not knowing why the water was being boiled in the first place. I didn't want to touch any of it. Kind of a buzz kill.

Very kind and accommodating staff. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy and clean.
Very thin walls so I was woken up by people in the hallway as there seemed to be no sound barrier.

the heated floors in the bathroom
two of the nights the people above us were noisy and the smoke alarm needed batteries

Location.....!
Terrible... terrible... terrible! Poor management, dreadful ? double suite like a dark cave, ? view out to stairwell was full of dirt and junk, no communication returned by Manager, no Housekeeping, everything was SO disappointing especially as it was expensive! On three consecutive nights, woken or kept awake by loud noise in the accommodation above, BBQ and Entertainment area a joke, full of overflowing trash bins, disgustingly unclean to unhygienic and untidy with no value at all for high dollars....

No one told us about a breakfast!
Location was excellent for access to touristic sites.
Town was under a water restriction but no one explained which water was drinkable.
Room and amenities were awesome, comfortable and clean.
Explained breakfast and water restriction better

The bed was super comfortable! The room was very large and the staff were very helpful and friendly!
The sink was clogged when we arrived. It did not bother us as we arrived later in the evening and up early in the morning for the ferry.
