Enjoyed the good part about the hotel stay, but reluctant about staying there again.

I thought the room was comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the location and the staff was helpful.

The room next to us had an occupant that watched tv loud late at night and woke us up both nights. We didn’t have a restful stay as a result.

Beautiful and wonderfully located hotel!

The staff member at check in was the friendliest and staff that was catching cabs for guests.

Staff members of house keeping talking outside my room for over 40min! Also staff at lower level talking instead of engaging with guests.

I wouldn’t recommend if you are planning on romantic type of trip.

Definitely location.

The room is spacious, but it is old and filthy. Especially the refrigerator was not working and was in bad condition.

Both the hotel and staff are outdated

The hotel rooms are very outdated and so is the staff. I was treated poorly by greeter and desk check-in. The room was deplorable. Everything was dated and broken. My view out the window was a fire escape for$200 a night. I felt the rudeness was racially motivated by the entire white haired senior citizens employed at the Drake.

For the price, location and comfort I doubt if you'll beat The Drake.

Our room was larger than expected and with a great view. The hotel is elderly but has a lovely touch of class about it - not stuffy, but nice. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Brilliant location. Would definitely be my first choice if visiting Chicago again.

Excellent!

The Drake offers a romantic and upscale vibe. The rooms have been updated and are very well appointed. The location is perfect for shopping and close to Rush street with some of the best restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying at the Drake.

Où sont les sorties de bains? Les gobelets pour se brosser les dents? Le réfrigérateur ? L accueil charmant du personnel dans le lobby? Le petit déjeuner ? L hôtel est décevant et impersonnel.

Very overpriced for an old tired building with few amenities and few positives.

Only the location

No refrigerator in room. Shower was unusable alternating every 20 or seconds from freezing cold to scalding hot. Included breakfast was throwing us into a dirty busy coffee shop with basically only fried sandwiches. The gym was extremely underwhelming.

La elegancia del hotel.

Dejé mi powerbank cargando en el vestíbulo, los de seguridad la recogieron, pregunté en el front desk si alguien la tenía y nadie me ayudó. Al día siguiente le pregunté a los de seguridad y ellos me ayudaron.

Nice views and beautiful, historic lobby - could use some updates.

Atmosphere, large room, lake view.

iPad didn’t work in the room, closet light wouldn’t turn off. Staff really didn’t seem to care much on either issue.

Very big and spacious room. Location of the Drake is superbe: beach a 4 min walk and Michigan street Beds very comfy

Uninformed and unfriendly staff, very dated furnishings and worn mattresses. Very faded glory.

My Visa card did not work because they just swiped it when it should have been inserted. You‘d think a big hotel chain knows that. I proposed to pay the 6(!) nights in cash but the manager would still not let me have the room (after a 10 hour flight from Europe). Had to argue for over an hour and had to pay cash for six nights and €500.- cash deposit. Very old and lumpy bed, took three days to get a new mattress. Breakfast included: They give € 15.- credit, coffee (out of the carafe) costs € 7.-. At the end of the stay, not one word of apology. Never again!

Good location Nice view from room - that we paud extra for

"The full american breakfast" turns out to be a 15 USD voucher thats far from whats promised. The AC in the room sounds like a car from the 70ies The hotel bar is pretty muggy and smells. The room lacks proper AC outlets and has no USB charging facility All in all - old, over rated and pretty over priced

Checking in was very easy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was excellent. Christine at the bar was very friendly.

I didn’t realise you had to request the room to be serviced as this wasn’t mentioned at reception when checking in but once we realised the room was cleaned the very next day.

Superb

Fabulous hotel and location. Bar service and atmosphere were fantastic. Room was spotless and comfortable. Hotel was quiet and felt private. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Parking is a little pricey and the garage was harder to find than anticipated. But, it’s Chicago and those are issues everywhere. Not enough to keep me from going back!
