Nighttime bartender was great. Considerate and friendly.
I am a returning customer of the hotel so I was expecting a better experience than I had. Understaffed front desk, long check in. I was sent to my room only to open the door and find that someone else was in my room. The bellman called the front desk and I was sent to another room that had been prepared for a guest that eventually cancelled. Staff did not remove the welcome fruit plate , water and card. Check out was slow, again one person on a busy Sunday morning. Since my car was parked in the top lot, after checkout I was told I can pick my car up from the parking attendant up the hill. I told them that I would not be walking up the hill and they needed to bring my car to the main lobby
which the staff eventually did. Finally after the room check in fiasco, I was told that the 30.00 per day activities fee would be removed from my account as a gesture of good will. Of course, when I checked out the 30.00 had not been removed. As my son said, there are plenty of other hotels in LA so this was my last stay at the Sunset Luxe.
However, evening bartender is a great employee.

location; view from room; very hospitable staff
bathroom not clean on original 7/30 check-in : gob of hair on bathtub drain
3.6
Staff were super friendly and helpful
location was not walkable to any destinations so it felt a little like a compound
3.6
The pool was amazing. Blackout blinds were great.
It was very expensive for what we got, but LA is expensive!
They give you plastic cups, individually wrapped in plastic. Time to start using glass and wash them like regular hotels do.
It was a bit noisy, we could hear next door..chatting.
One female staff member was a little rude at check-in.
The chrome cast wasn't working.
3.6
Location was great
Rooms smelled liked bleach , carpet was wet , dirty towels
3.6
nice temperature in pool
not a lot of places to throw trash in room
3.6
Not clean, poor lighting, room was separated from hotel and up a hill. Very inconvenient. Noisy, crowded.
Very expensive for the substandard experience.
A holiday inn is better then this hotel
3.6
the location and the staff are friendly
nothing :)
3.6
Very quiet spacious room with a comfortable bed.
Towels and robe a bit worn as well as some wear and tear on the room.

the staff ! amazing
Chris the bellman was exceptional in bringing our luggage, moving our rooms and even bringing up a bandaid for my daughter!
Jenny at the front desk an absolute treasure
and made every stop at the desk a pleasant one. Alex at the front desk seamlessly moved us to another room and was very helpful throughout our stay.
Every single employee was professional, friendly and always with a warm smile.
the housekeeping also five star
nothing
3.6
Well managed. All service was quickly executed. Very Good housekeeping.

The breakfast was pretty decent
Location if was far from everything did not have a stocked mini fridge was a very basic room for what we paid for did not like the valet only parking and that AF could not smoke on the patio
3.6
THE VALET STAFF ARE AWESOME. I HOPE THEY ARE BEING APPRECIATED BY THE OWNERS.
ONE NIGHT A MAN WAS SITTING ON MY LITTLE OUTSIDE AREA THAT HAS CHAIRS. HE WAS EITHER DRUNK AND
HAD HICCUP FOR A LONG TIME. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK AND SECURITY TOOK CARE OF IT.
THEN HE CAME INSIDE THE HALLWAY; WALKED AND LOUD HICCUP. NEXT DOOR ROOM AS WELL WAS SO LOUD.
I THINK HE WAS THERE WITH SOMEONE. AFTER ABOUT 30 MIN. THINGS QUITTED DOWN.

Beautiful, peaceful and loved your staff.
Ever single interaction with your staff was delightful.
I will definitely stay here agin.
I had a great Birthday with you! I will be back.
I sis not like the broken locks on the sliding glass door to balcony.
A slip hook was put in locks place , it also was broken.

it is amazing hotel

bar/lounge didn’t have a server so an “investor” gave me a free beer. I thought it was nice and enjoyed the lounge area. The place seemed nice and relaxing downstairs.
There was really so much to dislike and I hate to admit it. First the location was right in the middle of a busy intersection. This meant uber/Lyft were insanely expensive. I was quoted $60 in the app for a 1.9 mile drive for breakfast.
Secondly the room was underwhelming. For a hotel called Luxe and who’s price was double the national average, seeing dirty carpet, old run down decor and lazy paint jobs was unexpected. Nothing about a peeling high gloss latex paint job on walls and doors said “luxe”.
Lastly the mattress was obviously aged. It wasn’t too uncomfortable but combined with 4 large firm pillows for side sleepers when I’m a back sleeper with a cpap was just misery. The walls are paper thin so expect to hear everything your neighbors are doing, lose sleep from the parties downstairs, and hear all the traffic from the highway.
Clearly I am a bit disgruntled after spending almost $1000 here for 2 sleepless nights. The staff could not have cared less and lied saying they hadn’t heard any noise complaints only for another woman in the lobby to tell me she was warned of it and got a better room beforehand.
Unless these new investors make some massive changes to the condition and management of this hotel I would not recommend staying here whatsoever.

It's conveniently located. The staff is exceptional. The room service food is decent.
The carpet in the rooms that haven't been renovated yet are dated.
3.6
location, cleanliness, staff. it was a lovely hotel! the room was very spacious with a lovely balcony
3.6
Room was spacious and it is close to UCLA
Parking fees is way too high even for LA!!!
3.6
Everything including food and staff
The room given to us was wayyyyy dated. Although had all facilities but needed a complete redoing a decade ago.
3.6
Staff extremely friendly.
Loud. People tried getting in my room twice at 3:00 am.
3.6
Location was easy access to many places if you had a car
otherwise its on the freeway pretty much and cannot
walk anywhere.
Checking in was a nightmare. Front desk staff were in-
experienced and non-communicative for lack of a worse
word.We were traveling for 25 all the way from the
Mediterranean and they couldn’t get there act together
to allocate our rooms in a timely and cordial manner.
when we finally got to our rooms phones weren’t working
and maintenance spent 1.5 hours trying to fix them
when all we wanted to do after 25 hours traveling was
shower and rest.
Hotel is very very dirty in all areas (see pictures).
Carpets are filthy throughout and especially in rooms. make sure
you have flip flops as no hotel slippers available. My
husband got worts on his feet for the first time in his life
at 48 from walking barefoot on their filthy carpet.
Housekeeping is terrible. Most days they just don’t do
your room for bo reason at all. When they do its a very
mediocre job. They talk loudly in Spanish in the corridors
from early in the morning and don’t speak a word of
English. A-la-carte breakfast is good, a little pricy and
limited in choice but no other options available nearby
anyway so your stuck with it.
Hotel overall has a fantastic set up but is run down
and very poorly managed. Bathrooms are very old and
are in serious need of an upgrade. The Management is
rude and promise to compensate you and then don’t.
Bernadette and Natalie you know who you are!
I had stayed at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo twice before
and had a wonderful experience and thought the
same would be the case for here but instead it was
the exact opposite. I would never stay here again and
would NOT recommend to anyone stay here.
