The history of the building, interior design, artwork throughout the hotel. The reception team was extremely inviting, especially the gentleman who helped us with the luggage and welcomed us with champagne (not just any sparkling wine, actual French champagne).
We ordered room service a couple of times and both times there was a problem with wrong dishes or forgotten cutlery. Water in the cold tap was never cold.
Drinking water was provided only after numerous calls and requests.

Beautiful boutique hotel with a lot of charm.
After a long day it was disappointing that we were unable to check in on time. Check in is at 4pm but our room was still not ready. However, staff was apologetic and provided complimentary breakfast and drinks for our inconvenience. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel, great food, good bar, very comfortable.

The wifi
I booked for two nights in this hotel.
If you order something, you have to keep checking every 30 minutes. Otherwise bye-bye
Toilet was a disaster, There was no hot water, and the size as well
The lighting
The window was leaking, and the whole experience was miserable to me.
If you have clients staying in the hotel, I believe they have priority to have dinner downstairs. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. I HAD TO ORDER FROM UBER, WHAT A SHAME because There is no table for me in Riggs cafe, only at the bar, which is very embarrassing 😐
To be fair, I didn't tell them anything, I just checked out the second day and left to another 5 star hotel.

Staff, cleanliness, comfort (bed was really good), location!
Bathroom was a bit poky with a toilet and shower but no sink. Sink was in an alcove outside.

Beautiful, historic pet-friendly hotel in the heart of town, which was great for visiting all of the wonderful museums and historic monuments. Front desk staff and front door staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Design, decor, cleanliness were all on point.
The elevators were often very crowded, slow or reserved for a private event.

The hotel is beautiful - such a fantastic building, The location is great to start exploring the sights of the city. The bar was also very unique and impressive in its design, they made decent coffee and offered good food even late.
The room was in general big enough, apart from the bathroom (see below). The design was special, but we appreciated it. There was free water and wifi.
The bathroom was a challenge, and we are not big people! It is so tiny that it was really difficult to close the door when you want to use the toilet (or shower). We had to stand over the toilets with legs spread wide and squeeze it along so that it would close. For the price and overall experience of the hotel, this was the biggest disappointment for us, as we would not have expected that to be such an issue.
The wifi did not work one of the mornings, but I guess that can happen. The room made some annoying noises such as a clicking sound that would not turn off.

Excellent location for walk touring all the memorials. Excellent restaurants nearby. Wonderful staff.
Could use more storage near the sink.

The location is close to everything by foot. The room was very nice decorated and clean, big enough; great sleep quality, very comfortable beds. The Nespresso in the room refilled daily a big plus. Excellent value for money, considering it is a 5 star hotel in Washington Central Area.
Could not open the windows, maybe this is the building pattern. But the AC worked very well. Also it was a misunderstanding with the extra resort fee, but due to Booking, it was quickly solved. So, nothing really to complain about.

We only had breakfast once and the portions were very large! We did get coffee every morning which was a great convenience, and the customer service was excellent. Wine and Cocktails at night were very good. Everyone we encountered was very nice and helpful.

The Riggs was all we hoped for and more. The staff was extremely friendly, from the doorman through to the manager, they were really looking out for us. The location was superb, we could walk anywhere or take the hotels bikes free of charge. It's so close to the mall and there are really good places to eat around (Clydes is a must), the Ford theatre is just the next street down and there are quite a few shops all in walking distance. The capital one arena is close as well which was a plus as we went to see a game. Directly opposite you find the National Portrait Gallery where you can find paintings of all US presidents and a very enchanting indoor garden. We really felt at home in this beautiful hotel. Our kids loved the hotel as well - it was really a great place to stay at as a family and super kid friendly. We will make sure to stay here again when in DC. Loved it.

The bed was really comfortable and the room very clean.
Breakfast in Cafe Riggs was fantastic!
The air con unit was pretty noisy and walls were quite thin meaning we heard our neighbours a lot but nothing ear plugs didn’t fix.
