The hotel looks nice nice atmosphere around.
Also, if you like to cook and spend time with friends, there is a good kitchen with all the equipment downstairs.
The room has a nice bed with good linens, a view of the canal and a comfortable bathroom as are positive things.
The most important disadvantage of this hotel is the owner Bryan Deptula as well as the lady at the lobby, absolutely no idea of hospitality!
A little later, to a question from the hotel by text, how do you like it here or not, I replied NO because I found the disadvantages and sent it in the textr, the owner wrote to me asking me to tell the details and what they can improve and I had to communicate with the owner, a very aggressive person in communication by phone and in messages absolutely not perceiving criticism, later to my number began calls, voice messages, and texts that absolutely not a healthy situation. I eventually contacted him and he began to talk in a high tone and explain to me that they are not a luxury hotel in this area (please note on the website Booking.com this place is 4 stars).
I thing that every guest in this hotel is on vacation, I was on the beach and my dog was in the room and I had to get a lot of negativity from this person on the phone and as a result I was asked to leave the hotel at 8 pm with a refund when I absolutely did not ask for it.
It is unacceptable such communication with guests! Never! Nothing about help and fix the issues.
Also, this hotel is very intrusive before your arrival at the hotel, I received a lot of texts what SHOULD, MUST I DO to get my room when I have already booked my stay on the website booking.com (they ask for your bank card details, your address and other information which already provided to them by a third party).
I have been using the BOOKING.COM for many years and in different countries, in this hotel the owner has no idea about the service, respect for your time. I am a third-level participant and noticed such disadvantages are just elementary:
1. Hair in the drawer
2. The Balcony is shared, not private as indicated on booking.com and website of the hotel.
3. The snacks, water and the dogs products are purchased, no the price list in the room, lobby and website.

Very attentive and helpful hosts. Lovely location, especially if you have a canal-facing room.
4.1
It’s in a nice location, close to everything, but not in the middle of all of the chaos.
No direction as to where coffee and supplies were located. Coffee was cold. Could be in better location or better signage.
4.1
the most welcoming place we have ever stayed with our 2 dogs.

Everything!! The place is really beautiful, bed is super comfy. The room is big and comfortable. The owners were really attentive. Coffee was delicious. We would love to come back.

it was a nice small cozy place
nothing

Very clean rooms. Cool decor, love the touch less check in & no room keys.
maybe a bit too over the top with the dog friendly aspect, we kind of felt weird about not having a dog there.
4.1
small pool area good for kids, close to some nice coffee shops etc
broken AC unit, noisy in window unit, lack of kitchen equipment/utensils. quite a walk from the beach area.

This is a charming little place located in an excellent neighborhood. Very clean and quiet. Walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. About 25 minutes leisure walking to the beach. Pet friendly to details :)
maybe the mattress
4.1
THe quiet neighborhood. Close to good restaurants. Walking distance to beach and boardwalk
They advertised a light breakfast. The coffee was old and only had a bag of chips. The restaurant near by had a waiting of 45 minutes. The pillows were hard and lumpy . The room wasn’t made up the second day. We paid a very high price . A coffee pot in the room would have been nice.

Check in/out process was easy, staff was friendly and professional. Owner was on site and asked for feedback/ ways to improve. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need.
There was nothing that I didn't like.
4.1
Close proximity to the beach/boardwalk
Everything appeared fine

We paid for early check in and it was not ready. Toilet was broke, we moved to smaller room and was charged the same price as the larger and the refrigerator was not working.
4.1
The color of the room and the non-contact key entry instructions. and the usage of the bikes.
We booked a kingsized room with a Riverview. NOT!!, all we saw were trees, a street light, and people's houses; the canal was around the front. There was a large bed, not an adjustable one, nor fluffy pillows to help your back or neck for those who have back problems as we do. In the small bathroom, we had to consistently close the door to get the toilet paper from behind it and swat down to a low toilet to use it. The lighting in the next room where the bed was so low that we looked forward to the sunlight or the street light that beamed inside the room at night in order to read a book or see the buttons on the TV remote, plus the channels on the TV wasn't great for the amount of money we paid for the 2-night stay, at almost $700. There is only one mirror for a head shot and that is over the sink in the small bathroom, the shower is an over-the-head shower that if you wanted to get your hair wet then that's good but I did not so I had to maneuver my body to rinse off, and that took skill. Also, there was coffee brewing but there wasn't water in the tea kettle. ever. o one more it smells like dogs so if you have a dog this is a great place for you. but it definitely is not a great stay for those who like mirrors, large bathrooms, good channels on tv, Waterview, good lighting or a couple's getaway.

super close to all restaurants, boardwalk and beach
only thing I could say is our room was on the lower level with no windows but it was still nice

We have been staying at the Canalside Inn for 15 yrs. we simply love this place. The location is perfect, you are just 15 min walk from the beach and just two minutes away from the main avenue where you can find restaurants shops entertainment.
I feel bad writing this, but I guess its inevitable, the place needed some repairs, the towels had tons of holes in them and just looked old, and our room sort of smelled like a wet dog. We have a shiba inu and we try hard to make sure if we bring him and once we’re getting ready to leave we clean up and air the place (ofcourse he doesn’t really smell at all but I know some dogs do). There was this heavy smell. Maybe it was the dog bed that was there. I know this place has been around for a while so its normal for things to get old, but its important to keep up with cleanliness and little things here and there. I feel like you pay a good deal for the room so it should be updated. Otherwise we still love this place. Its still number one on our list when we decided to come next time.

The room has big windows.
I found dried blood stain on the sheet. It’s disgusting and totally unacceptable.

We liked the location of the inn in relation to the beach and the boardwalk. We were able to walk and/or ride our bikes everywhere. The owner and employees were welcoming and happy to help if needed.
Although our room was small, a second chair would have been nice.

The owners were very welcoming.
The owners were so kind that I find it difficult to leave this review. However, we were highly disappointed with the location and the price we paid for what we got. If you have physical problems, this is not convenient for walking. Our room was cramped and we didn't have a balcony. The pool was simply way too small and in desperate need of a face lift. Our stay for two night, with a small dog was over $1,200. Not a value whatsoever. Not at all what we expected, or would do again.

Despite what other reviews say, the location is great, the place is super clean, and the rooms are well maintained, but be sure to read the cons of this place from others as well.
There seems to be a recurring theme throughout the reviews: tiny bathroom, toilet paper, pets, and overall value (being nickel and dimed for everything)
The bathroom is tiny. I've stayed here before and have really enjoyed the location, but the bathrooms in the rooms on second floor are really small. Navigating the bathroom door and toilet is very awkward. And speaking of toilet paper, I paid $1300/3 nights for a hotel with institutional grade toilet paper - you can see through it when held up to light.
Rooms have been redecorated since my last stay. The room I had this time had one small desk chair and small corner table/desk. In addition to the king side bed, there is a large daybed that is advertised as a sofa but is completely unusable for that purpose (and blocks the only window in the room). So if you want to watch TV and relax while sitting, you have one choice, the desk chair. And forget about being able to eat anything while sitting because the small desk is directly under the TV, so you can't sit there to eat and watch TV. And no I didn't feel I should have to take my food outside and downstairs to a picnic area when I wanted to eat quietly in my $400 a night air conditioned room.
Also, once you make your reservation, you are subjected to a ridiculous amount of very long autogenerated texts. From reservation to checking out, I received about 15 of these and most were completely unnecessary. I especially balked at the early arrival / late check out reminders. I understand this was done initially to reduce contact due to covid, but I saw staff interacting with guests while there making this irrelevant.
Pets do not pay the room rate, people do, so the point that it is advertised as a pet friendly place does not excuse the barking, and I was growled at by a dog as I was going through the hall - not cute and not appreciated at $400 a night. Also, Rehoboth is not a dog friendly place on the beach or boardwalk.
