The location was perfect to restaurants and the BJCC..
If your not a Marriott member you'll pay 10 bucks for internet. Parking is 29 bucks and breakfast is an extra cost. I'd say charge a little more and offer these for free. Although I'm a Marriott member so internet was free but for others it's should just be added to the cost of the room. The hotel had a cross walk to the BJCC bit it isn't available apparently to be used.

Location! Connected to BJCC.
Small area of the floor had water seeping through.

Location and comfort
The coffee employee during the afternoon was extremely rude. Ignored me and kept talking to someone else and cussing the whole time. Made me feel like I was bothering her and only got bottle of coke not even a coffee.
2.5
Proximity to venue
Valet was understaffed and not helpful.

Bed was comfortable
Room was clean
There were 3 long lines to check in at 4:00 bc there was a concert. We were placed in an adjoining building which was desolate and not given proper directions to get there. After 15 minutes of trying to find our floor on the main elevators, we finally found a tiny other elevator (escalators did not work) which took us to ORHER elevators to get to our building and room. Was a hassle and almost missed our concert. Staff was busy, understaffed, and not helpful. Bar staff was terrible. Waited 40 minutes in a line if about 7-8 ppl for drinks. Customer service horrible here.

Location is ideal, especially if you’re staying for an event at the BJCC. Front desk, housekeeping, and hospitality staff were all great and extremely helpful despite the large number of people staying for multiple events. Some of the best restaurants in Birmingham are less than 5 minutes of walking away.
While stylish and cozy, some of the choices made for the newly renovated rooms are questionable. The new refrigerators are warm when you get there and don’t get reasonable cold until after your first night. The mini-fridge is also in an enclosed cabinet so they perform even worse unless you leave the cabinet door open and in the way for the heat to vent out. No microwave in the room is disappointing. The “hidden drain” shower quickly clogs from hair and the cover is not at all easy to remove to clean it.

Convenience
Slow elevators and escalators weren’t working

For a hotel with over 750 rooms the lack of food choices is bad. The staff directs everyone to the westin hotel, why would you do that? Next time we can just stay at the westin and not have to walk over to it. Also why was thewalkway to the areana closed off, another reason we choose to stay there, for the convience and location.
Above plus no food at the hotel!

We booked this property 100% due to the location and access to the BJCC.
When we first walked in our room it was apparent that it wasn’t clean. Someone went the restroom and left the evidence in the toilet. The soap was used and wet. The hand towel was lying on the counter. The bed was made but the covers went indented as evidence of someone sitting on it.
When we went back to the front desk they changed our room without question which was nice.
The walkway to the bjcc was closed. Being that was the reason we booked this hotel, it was disappointing that there was no mention of this on their site.
It was disappointing that there were not late night food options within the hotel. Room service options would have been nice.
The bed was VERY firm to the point of being uncomfortable. The pillows were flat and cheap. Definitely didn’t feel rested even after a full nights sleep.

Beds were comfortable
We sat outside the hotel for an hour and got inside and stood another 30 mins to get the room keys. We got to our room and it was not what we booked. We returned back down to the front desk and had to stand and wait another 30 mins. The woman said that we got another room because the one we booked, which was two beds, was not cleaned because they are understaffed. Poor communication! They did end up getting us the right room a couple of hours later after we had to ask again. Only one outlet worked beside the beds.

The location was perfect.
I only paid the price for the convenience of the hotel location. The hotel definitely needs some TLC. Checkout was 10a, an employee entered our room at 9:20a, no reason as to why only a quick "I'm sorry" as they were walking out after seeing it was still occupied. The staff members were not rude, they just were very personable. Decent place to stay, but it was definitely not worth the amount paid.

Location to BJCC and restaurants
We paid $260 for one night and $28 to park. The room was small with very little accomodations. No complimentary breakfast but they wanted $17 for some eggs and fruit. The water that came out of our tub was brown and the shower curtain was brown at bottom. No plastic cups in room and the bathroom had no vent so in order to have air or heat you have to leave door open. The hotel is decent but not $260 per night.
5.0
The cleanliness of the room and the facility itself
The bed was a bit too firm

We did not have the breakfast. The location was in a good spot as we were there for the Comedy Show. The local restaurants was in walking distance. The front desk receptionist was nice checking us in and out.
The rooms were plain and not appealing. Yes, they were clean, but for the amount of money we spent I expected more. The value of the rooms are not worth paying over two hundred dollars. I guess we paid for the location and not the room. We booked through booking.com and was told we would have robs-no robs were in the room-City view was of the highway. LOL. I will not stay at this location again. Not worth the money(my opinion)-Then at 10:14 a.m. the housekeeper was banging on the door and specifically(rudely) asked what time were we leaving-check out was at 11am. Again, I will not book here again

Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.
Front desk was rude, did not explain parking choices, called about coffee issue no fix until I called them 3 times…..overall customer service needs help!! There is no complimentary coffee and the $38 valet parking per night was not stated on reservation. Breakfast is over priced at $17 pp not worth that price.
