Elevators were under maintenance. More detailed explanation on what was being done.
An inconvenient situation but the work had to be done.

Check in was a hassle, elevators in rough shape, hot humid hallways, no cookies available, dirty bed comforter

The selling point for this location was the skywalk to the Lansing Center. The facility was clean, and my room had a great view. Since I got a good deal on the room, I opted to spend a little extra on breakfast tickets. This hotel has a restaurant on-site that opens early and stays open late. Breakfast was very good! I ordered the pancakes, and they were huge with lots of fresh berries included.
Just two complaints:
1. There were no pork-free meat options for breakfast.
2. I would have liked for the parking situation to be explained better. I valeted my car thinking that valet was free (aside from gratuity). I paid close to $30! I'm not sure if I misunderstood a suggested gratuity, or if that was an actual mandatory charge. Be sure to ask questions before you valet if cost is an issue.

I was given FOUR different room keys before finally getting one that didn’t already have a guest in there. The first room key I was given didn’t work, the second one, I walked in on a man undressing who yelled for me to come back when I ran away startled. The third room my husband and I also walked in on a man undressing. The fourth room security checked for us before we went in. We were not compensated or offered anything for the inconvenience and overall traumatizing experience. I felt unsafe the entire time there.

The location was great for us and the view from our room was great.
The hot tub was broken, the pool was freezing, the elevators needed cleaned and the hallways vacuumed.
10.0 / 10.0
The newly renovated room was just what we needed after a long day of wrestling. The bed was super comfortable.
There are as still some renovations being done so the hot tub was sadly closed for maintenance.

The location of the hotel is good, central to Downtown Lansing.
They were undergoing renovations, which I knew. However, there was no mention of the fact that all of their restaurants and bars were closed.
