Great value and very clean!

Room was very clean, except for the shower curtain which had a few dots of mold on it and was switched out for us. Housekeeping was thorough and incredibly kind. I wiped the bathroom floor down with Clorox wipes to ensure it was clean (habit) before we used it, and the wipes remained white. The room was much bigger than many other nearby hotels, and they are renovated/updated as the photos show. There’s a nice coffee shop right across the street and beach access is easy and close. The pool was clean and it was nice to eat lunch (to-go from a nearby restaurant) at a table poolside. The elevator worked perfectly and we never had any issues with the FREE parking, which was nice.

The woman we spoke to at the front desk was incredibly rude. She was the only staff member we had a problem with. We asked her twice on our first day for a replacement shower curtain (moldy). The first time, she said she’ll send one up. Hours later, when we asked again, she said they didn’t have any extras and she’d send one up the next day. The next afternoon I called down to see if they had a new shower curtain for us yet and she rushed me off the phone, once again saying she’ll send one up in a while, with a huge attitude. I happened to see housekeeping in the hallway, asked them for one, and it was replaced in our room immediately along with fresh towels and emptied trash cans without me mentioning either of those things. In fact, I told them we just needed the shower curtain and not to worry about anything else, but they insisted. Obviously, the woman at the front desk just didn’t want to be bothered by our request and had never passed it along. If you’re looking for oceanfront and super fancy, you’ll want to book elsewhere. However, if you care about cleanliness, space, free breakfast, and free parking, this is a wonderful option. We almost booked a place that was twice as much and were so glad that we didn’t.

Great location, clean, renovated beautifully.

The “Patels” Indian couple that manage the front desk were borderline hostile. I lost 3 or 4 room key cards and 4 were demagnetized. It was raining, too dangerous to drive im guessing my raincoats shallow pockets and magnetic snaps on coat was the issue. I was exhausted. Had pulled a difficult very depressing doing double (nurse

If there is a zero tolerance policy for smoking, vaping, and weed, it needs to be enforced. I should not have to explain

We’ve stayed before and it’s been wonderful. Convenient to where we needed to be, room was clean, linens were already in the room for pull out sofa.

Our suite mates were definitely smoking something that smelled a lot like weed either in the room or outside the property. It wafted under the door and gave us all headaches. The outside of the property reeked of weed throughout the day. The phone in our room was not working properly and when I called to the front desk, the attendant could not hear me. Thankfully, either because they came to the next door or called them, our neighbors did stop creating the smell around midnight, but then it was back at 9 am when we woke up. We did not have shower gel replenished or provided.

Horrible - keep away!

Location was good, front desk were nice

Room was terrible, mold under the bed and on the walls, HORRIBLE Smell with no option to open window. Checked out after total of 2 hours, and 15 minutes inside the room (tried to let the AC filter the smell). Asked for refund but manager wasn't there until the next day (Sunday so understandable) went specially back at Monday 9 am because she said she'd be there, she wasn't and at half past 9 I decided to go with a promise to contact my email. They never did even though I tried to reach them. Horrible experience and I recommend to everyone to take a different hotel, the room felt like a health hazard (moldy smell).

Cofffe makers don’t work right and the coffe kcups your buying are not much coffee in they’re taking advantage of you Sugar packets empty unopened and creamer stiff and stale Also on king.com they state that you are Oceanside with ocean view. I had an absolute view of the back parking lot.

Perfect!

Everything was perfect. We had no issues whatsoever. The breakfast was FANTASTIC. The room was spotless and smelled so clean. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Poor staff & management, BEWARE HOW YOU RESERVE ROOM WITH CREDIT CARD...

Good location, 1-1/2 block from beach

Hairs and stains found in both bedding, low water pressure at the bathroom sink, housekeeping going into my room one hour before our 11 AM checkout time and throwing out our personal items, and unknoweldgeable staff members, no manager on-site to resolve issue at hand; Bilingual housekeepers, speaking no English to help find our missing items which we had to retrieve ourselves by finding items on the housekeepers cart. Unprofessional manager, when contacted the next day, she talked over me as well as to others while on the phone with me. The manager didn't display management skills to listen, nor did she offer any resolutions; and only gave excuses. I was told by a staff member in advance I could change credit card once I checked in and when it was time to check out...guess what? They wouldn't change the payment from my credit card to my debit so we could pay cash. So they don't hold up to their promise, and their staff members have different stories.

Exceptional

Property is just as the pictures, comfortable beds, friendly staff from the front desk,cleaning crew and breakfast crew were all amazing. The pool is warm & closes at 10pm so thats a plus! Breakfast is delicious, a bit limited and can maybe offer more fruits as well. Its a perfect location, cross one street and you are right at the beach. A lot of activities for kids nearby. If we ever come back to Virginia Beach will definitely remember this hotel.

issues- air conditioner poor- clothes wet, mold in bathroom, bad odor outside, small elevator.

1 block up from beach- though not oceanfront it was convenient to boardwalk. lots of restaurants nearby.

mold in room, air conditioner did not suck out moisture so pillow and all clothes felt wet to the touch. Also only 1 small elevator- could barely fit 6 people and the hotel staff had to use same elevator to go up and down to clean rooms. floor usually wet from people coming up from swimming pool all hours. and the Maple tree breakfast restaurant next door burned down and they demolished it with debris still there- freshly torn down? and it reeked of dead crabs and smoke. gold coffee wrapper/ pack behind couch?

We love when things exceed our expectations! Costa Azul really did. It was very clean and the rooms very spacious with incredibly comfortable beds. Your on the beach in no time as well.

The whole room was very humid the entire weekend. Everything felt wet constantly which made getting comfortable a challenge at times. There’s also only 1 elevator for a decent sized building. That left us waiting for several minutes before occasionally opting for the stairs down from our 5th floor room

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The location was great 2 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast was okay and the staff was friendly.

The bathrooms are small and there was only one elevator to service the guests. The breakfast area was quite pack as the area is small with a few tables to sit.

Disappointing

The location was nice.

That parking was not listed on booking website so it made parking difficult for the additional cars that i had. I also didn't appreciate the afternoon shift worker. It was a young man and he was very rude and didn't offer blankets when I asked one for the pull out couch because there wasnt any in our room. And then I asked for a brush while I waited there and he proceeded to tell me he would bring it up to my room. In which he didn't. I had to ask again and had called down to the front and he proceeded to say he was going to bring it to the room. It took nearly to the end of my stay to get a toothbrush and extra blankets. (I ended up just going to the store that was up the road for a toothbrush at that point) the overnight shift lady was very friendly and helpful in every thing and apologized on behalf of him although it was not her responsibility for his unprofessional behavior.
