Internet connection was terrible. Hotel was under construction and I was not aware of that. construction crew was banging on something right outside my window on Saturday morning. It was annoying.

Breakfast was just ok
No hand soap in room. No service to room for our stay.

The room was clean.
Check in time is at 3pm. We arrived at 1 pm and the room was not ready, No problem, we were early. Said we would be back around three. We didn't make it back until 5pm. when we got back we were told that the room was still not ready.
We had to hang out in the lobby for about 35 minutes until that could get a room cleaned.
Breakfast was a big disappointment. I got there at 8:30am and everything was gone. All the chafing dishes were empty.. I asked the girl who was supped to be taking care of the breakfast service if she would be bringing more food out and she said No breakfast ends at 9:30 and walked away. There was till an hour left of for breakfast.

Everything except our particular room did not have light filtering curtains. When the sun rose at 5:30, it was very bright.

The breakfast was great! The hashbrowns were shaped like stars and made each breakfast very fun. The location was nice and the staff were friendly.

Good location.Close to the Capital and State Street shopping and restaurants. Easy drive to the casino. There was a big selection for the breakfast.

Property doesn’t provide an invoice and blames it on Booking.com. First of all, the way to handle this is described in booking.com guidelines for partners and that the hotel has to provide an invoice even though booking.com charges the credit card upfront. secondly this is illegal! I am very disappointed, and this caused many issues since it was a business trip. My assistants questions got rejected several times and I feel deceived.

Shasta was the kindest employee.
There was no orange juice for the whole week I was there.

The Beds were fine, the pool area was nice and clean.
The breakfast wasn't great and they had no milk. They had out cereal and I asked and they said the truck didn't come in. They had told me that the hotel next door was the sister property...how about running over to get some milk from them? It was just overcooked bacon and not much to choose from.

Lots of variety at breakfast

. I enjoyed the Greek yogurt. Also nice to have the flavored creamers.
There should be breakfast sausage on all days - this was not the case during my four night stay. Toaster needs to be replaced, barely works. Orange juice came out as clear water.

We enjoyed everything. No complaints. One of the nicest places I've stayed in the last 2 years. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Breakfast wasn't that great. I know they were busy with state basketball games,Jeff Dunham, and being St. Patty's day,but they put out undercooked, cold mini hashbrowns, and sausage patties.
The scrambled eggs were just chunks of eggs, with or without overcooked ham pieces in it.

The bed and the cleanliness
4.0
Excellent value and quality for the price. Very quiet, didn't hear another guest the entire time. Beds are comfortable, lots of good pillows, and the big TV was perfect for watching the amazing NCCA football playoffs. The breakfast was very clean and decent to get the day going. Has an indoor pool, and can use the next door Sheraton pool as well. The location is not a close walk to Madison downtown (maybe 2.5 miles), but only a short 5-minute drive (for parking, plug in State Street Brats and there is a public parking garage just before it). Other Monona restaurant and strip-center facilities nearby ... we really liked hanging out a the fire pit at the Monona Bank RiverRink, and the Off Broadway Drafthouse was a great find for a local pub with great food. Also perfect for us, a very nice forest and lakeside hike at the Turville Conservation Park is just behind the hotel on the other side of the RR tracks (cross the tracks, go right about 20-30 yards for the side trail leading to the main trail -- also can go out to the bike path along Nolen Dr, go right, and pick up the at the trailhead parking lot about a half mile down). When this has snow it looks like a good little cross-country ski park. Other Madison attractions: State Street for shops, restaurants and bars; U of Wisconsin Campus (check to see if seated Pres Lincoln stands up - haha); Picnic Point is a good hike, you can also reserve fire pits near the point; the free Henry Vilas Zoo is a good excursion to walk around, especially for young kids.
$50 "incidentals" credit card reserve charge in addition to what you pay online, supposed to be refunded within "3-5 days." Also, daily maid service was not offered. After day 3 we requested twice from the front desk, but no cleaning when we returned later in the day. Luckily in the evening a maid was on our floor and we asked her to "freshen" the room while we went to dinner.
