Exceptional staff, great location, fun activities

Lovely old rustic that used too on be a school and converted into a hostel. Two large communal lounging areas with open fire. Beds very comfortable.
Breakfast was a bit patchy and would have liked some tea bags but given the price of my stay it was fine, I was very happy.

Party- i was tired and need quiet sleep

If the breakfast time can be earlier (6:30), it’ll be great!

The common areas were great with soft couches and blankets- good for socializing and meeting new people. There was a hottub but we were so busy we didn't get to use it (next time!). The included breakfast was a great added on treat.
The dorm bunk beds were a little uncomfortable but not terrible and to be expected in a hostel situation

Great staff! Helpful and chill guys!

The property had an excellent great room for big dinners and/or poker games, a room with a pool table and a very nice kitchen. Those rooms were so nice, didn’t even make it out to the hot tub.
If I had to be picky, I’d say that if they could add a few more parking spots that would be ideal.

Friendly staff, big common area, and decent rooms.
Most electrical outlets near the beds in the 8-bed dorm would help, but this is a minor critique.
Also, many of the guests stayed at the hostel for skiing and boarding. An area to dry off our gear (jackets, pants, gloves, beanies etc.) after a long day on the slopes would improve the already good facilities. Most of us scattered our things throughout the room.

The connecting street between ITH and main street was covered with ice and snow. I could not take the car to the hostel even with tire chains. I spoke with a staff member. He said go and communicate through booking.com app to get a refund. I sent them several messages. But they did not get back to meat all!

the pool table and the hosts
the beds and the rooms
the rooms were too small and the bed felt like a hammat

The breakfast could have had a little more selection/things but other than that this place is amazing! Some more fruits, juices, & bagels would have done the trick ;)

I loved the atmosphere, the amazing effort to providing a comfortable stay and of course Yogi! I loved the breakfast setup and the cozy living room fireplace. I can't wait to come back sooner then later!
The fact that the restrooms were downstairs but it worked out well because each time I came downstairs it gave me opportunity to enjoy the amazing view from the front porch.

We arrived and we’re greeted by the desk clerk who was very nice. showed us around the property, there’s a hot tub out back so make sure to bring a suit! with in walking distance to big bear village! there’s a community fridge so you can put your name on this and store them there.
parking is super tight so be prepared to squeeze in.

The room was beautifully decorated in a unique style and very well maintained.
The building offered brilliant facilities and communal areas to all staying which gave plenty of opportunities to socialise with other travellers.
The location is stunning, located away from the main road, allowing visitors to appreciate the natural setting. The location was still close enough to access many bars, restaurants and experiences within the town in walking distance.
To top off the experience the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and went out of their way to welcome guests and enhance their stay.
This room related parts of this review apply to a private room with ensuite, however I engaged with guests who had equally positive things to say about the shared rooms.
No negatives.

So perfect. It was cozy and dreamy. And one of the staff offered to light up the fireplace for us as we were reading. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

I am a return guest from a few years ago. I was amazed and excited to see the property in such great condition with welcoming team. I enjoyed my private accommodations and hope to return again. It is such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Maybe during the winter months to ski!
N/A- it was an excellent stay!
