Owners are saints. The house and backyard are attractions on their own, but the house is very close to Beacon and great hiking.

Nice place located between Beacon and Cold Springs. Room was well kept and comfortable. Loved the homey feel of the house. Had access from the property to a few trails which was nice. Would highly recommend for a quiet weekend.
A bit close to the main road but it wasn’t so much of an issue.

Location was perfect, just five minutes from downtown Beacon's Main Street. Jim, the owner, could not be more lovely and personable. The other guests were lovely and low-key, and overall, the stay was a calm, pleasurable beginning and end to our jam-packed days.
Most people would probably say this is a giant plus, but it was VERY QUIET! Coming from NYC is was almost too quiet for me :)

Our stay at Beacon Hermitage was so special. It was lovely to be greeted by such a kind and welcoming host. The little touches he added - like a birthday cupcake for my wife's birthday or hot cider for the chillier days - made it even more memorable. We went with our small, shy dog who was welcomed and loved on by the hosts. I think he really came out of his shell by being there! The house is beautifully decorated with art and comfy furniture, so we enjoyed cozy breakfasts in the dining room and reading books in the lounge. Our room was also great for watching a movie and vegging out, with an awesome view of tree-covered hills. The microwave and fridge in the room's closet was especially helpful when we wanted to snack on leftovers. The bathroom is shared, but we were the only guests at the time, but had no trouble storing our toiletries in our room since there is plenty of room in the closet as well as a dresser and mirror in the room. The gardens are equally decorated and expansive, leading to various places to sit and enjoy the sun and even a longer trail. The b+b is a short and straight-forward drive from Beacon and Cold Spring and we had no problem driving into town to explore and eat. We can't wait to visit in the Summer!

Special, special place!
Very comfortable, warm feel to this house, and filled with interesting art! Loved my room, the blue barn, the garden, the Highlands.
More than anything, Jim is a stupendously great person and host imho. I’m somewhat of a reserved individual, so it was great to have some quiet time alongside such lovely and generous company. Also went out of his way numerous times to make this feel as comfortable as home (thank you for that hot cider sir!)
Looking forward to a chance to come back! Cheers 🔮

The location was great, we were the only ones at the facility. They were doing renovations which didn’t disturb us but the common areas weren’t air conditioned. It was hot! Coffee was good and the grounds were beautiful.
Unairconditioned areas.

Beacon Hermitage is very cozy and comfortable with an excellent outdoor space. They are very close to downtown Beacon, too. The hosts are welcoming and kind. I loved staying here.

Breakfast was fine - fresh muffins and fruit selection.
Would have preferred real cream or half & half for coffee.

Beautiful house, very clean, a unique backyard/ meditation space, and great hosts.

The room was spotless, as was the bathroom - Jim cleaned it more than once a day! The gardens that crafted outdoors were beautiful to sit and drink a coffee in, in the morning.
Jim even showed us to the amazing waterfall close by to take a dip in first thing!
We arrived by train, spent a lovely afternoon and evening in Beacon at amazing DIA gallery and at the great eating and drinking spots Jim and Joe had recommended and then took a cheap Uber to the place from town.
Next morning we walked back to Beacon along some of the amazing trails you can access right from the house.
Breakfast is simple but Jim was so kind, making angie Sottish tea especially!
Jim is a great host - Joe was away at the time - and was so helpful and thoughtful. He even dropped us to the train for our return journey!
Go spend a few days, unwind and take in the beauty of Beacon Hermitage.
❤️❤️
very little, maybe the ill judged walk back along the highway on our second night as it was getting dark. 🤦♂️

The host was wonderful. The place was great.
The only thing I would like would be more fresh air in the house.
The air quality. Especially downstairs.
Breakfast muffins could have been smaller and healthier. Everything else was absolutely wonderful.

Beautiful place, good location, friendly and helpful hosts.
We came down with covid a week before our reservation and they refused to change it to another date. I understand the reservation being final but they should make allowances in certain situations.

The yard was excellent with a great view.

Location is fine, the house has nice artwork everywhere, the land around is nice, in the middle of nowhere but the main road is off the property. The windows are good, so the outside noise is minimal
Shared bathroom is not great, you have to leave the room, walk through the creaky floors to go... The bed is size Full, so there is barely any room for 2 people. Breakfast is very limited: Coffee, hard boiled eggs, muffins and fruits.

Extremely kind & welcoming hosts - a unique place to stay in the nature near Beacon and Cold Spring

The owner (Jim) contacted me with necessary instructions. Jim was as friendly, polite, and caring as anyone could be. In fact, I’d say that if you didn’t make time to chat with Jim, you’d be missing out on one of the most special parts of the B & B experience.

Yard is fun.
Bed was old and uncomfortable. Room was tiny. Driveway/house was poorly lit and difficult to find at night. Drivers on that 4oad are not very forgiving of of someone slowing to find a Driveway.
