Very clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing. Best case scenario.
Nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was minimal.
One staff person was unfriendly. She wouldn't put her phone down to communicate or help.

The location was perfect. While I didn't take advantage of onsite dining, I enjoyed the inn very much. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and the heating worked, which was especially important because of sub-zero overnight temperatures!
There isn't much parking available onsite, but I was able to find a spot each time I returned from an outing. The door to my room was a bit tricky to open as it was "sticky" and the key was hard to turn, but this is a country inn with character, and not a hotel chain. These are really minor issues.

This is a beautiful property just a block or two away from downtown Montpelier’s main intersection. Great building and decor, but…
This place is a shambles. It needs someone with actual money and vision to redo this. The door is unlocked at night and this morning, two disgusting guys who looked like addicts (one had an open sore on his face) strolled in and ate as much breakfast as they could, making a mess and slurping and burping. The breakfast area is partially constructed with just two tables and stuff piled everywhere. Breakfast is cereal without bowls and stale, store-bought pastries in cellophane.

Very cozy New England Inn

Staff was friendly and informative. The location was convenient. It was priced affordable. It was quiet and a good place to crash after a long day of travel and exploration with old friends. Everything was as advertised and the beds were clean. The room was decent sized considering the age of the building. Bathroom was clean and everything functioned as it should.
It's an inn built over 200 years ago so rustic was expected. On par with the reviews I read it's in need of TLC. It has significant potential but just needs to be updated and deep cleaned/rehabbed. I'm sure the fallout from covid, prices of everything, and staffing issues play a role here so I try not to judge too harshly. They appear to be building something as dumpsters were present. We got the last available parking spot in the small lot. Not a problem. Just a FYI for those who book. Recent reviews absolutely shredded the continental breakfast. Restaurants are a short walk away so we opted for that.

Breakfast was OK, good start to the busy days we were there for.
We found the room very warm, could not get the AC working to cool room, had to open windows, had street noise also had to sleep on top of bed to stay comfortable because of heat in room.

Beautiful place with an amazing location in Montpelier.

Location good. No soap in the rooms, no napkins at breakfast. Very little food for breakfast. Inn room dirty, carpet dirty and stained. No Inn help anywhere to greet you or say goodbye, Inn person sat at her desk and said just throw keys in the basket when we left, did not even get up. Inn over rated and tired. Needs a good facelift
