Beautiful surroundings with a spectacular view of the lake. The closest town of Killorglin is about 15 minutes away and has a large choice of super markets.
We loved visiting the County of Kerry and coming back in the evening to a comfortable environment with a large room downstairs and a play area for kids upstairs.
Excellent communication with the host.
We highly recommend Jamesy's Cottage.

Viewpoint and starting point for the discovering of the whole Ring of Kerry environment. All hot spots are close by, from the Heritage centre of Skellig to the top of the Carantuohill.

The cottage was much more spacious than we expected and the games room was a huge bonus for 3 active boys. The setting was superb with the most wonderful views all around. The goat herd at the bottom of the garden a delight for us all. The absolute peace was magnificent with only nature's sounds. The kitchen was very well equipped but a sieve would have been good. The colander was huge. The shower trap in the attic bedroom had not been de-haired for months, so I fixed that. We had an absolutely fantastic stay and the children all want to come back.

We had an excellent week at Jameseys providing enough space and confort for our group of 9, perfect location to explore the area : ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park and the Reeks in the backyard. The
view on Lough Caragh and Dingle bay is fabulous !

What an incredible view! It was a bit off the beaten path, but the drive was definitely worth it. Our hosts provided a clean, spacious home, with room for the whole family. We could not have asked for more. They even provided some basic pantry items which I was sure we would have to purchase. Flowers in the garden are lovely.

Marvelous. The place is quite remote, still there is mobile reception. The countryside is great, the house is phantastic. High recommendation.

We chose this location for the beautiful home and the tranquil location. It is conveniently located to Kilarney and the Ring of Kerry.
I main goal in this location while heading to Cork from Dublin was to see the Kilarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry. This place was a fantastic retreat at the end of the day!!

The house is beautiful, but the setting overlooking the valley and lake is the real star. This was the perfect place to unwind in between sightseeing.

This property is well-appointed, well-kept, and well worth learning to navigate the very narrow country lane to get there. We stayed for one week.
A few days of our stay we would just drive each morning to the delightful village of Killorglin and do our daily shopping -- butcher shop, grocery store, bakery/coffee shop -- and spend the day cooking and relaxing in the solitude with sweeping vistas to Lake Caragh and the Ring of Dingle.
Note: Traffic can he horrible! :-) Sometimes the sheep decide to escape their meadows and walk along the road or take naps on the warm asphalt. They are gracious enough to leave when you approach, though.
We also saw wild goats (about 25-30 of them) and a few wild rabbits.
Day trips from this location are easy -- and it's so nice to return to this utterly peaceful property. Indeed, there were times we thought there was something wrong with our hearing because of the absolute silence: no wind, no birdcalls, no bugs buzzing around -- just the sun peeking out of the clouds and lighting up the heather-clad hills.
We truly enjoyed this property -- a "must" if you are trying to get away from it all.

Location is a slice of heaven - a car is a must!
This stunning property is equipped with all you need for an off grid break. Sheep and bunnies visit daily and the views are sensational.
Only downside is the amount of flies inside the property - we tried to deal with this daily but we kept losing the battle and this was a little soul destroying. Perhaps the property would benefit from a full deep clean on a more regular basis.
On the whole, we can’t wait to come back!

Our family really enjoyed our short stay at Jamesey's Cottage. The views at the cottage brought tears to my eyes as we pulled up to the property! The location was very private and secluded - we didn't see anything but sheep and rabbits while there! You are still a short drive from the town of Killorglin, for anything you may need for your stay. The house itself is absolutely beautiful! All bedrooms have ensuites and the main living area was very comfortable. Theo even supplied plenty of wood for our stay, much appreciated! Communication with Theo was excellent while staying at the cottage. Unfortunately, we had rain 2 out of our 3 days while there! We would love to return to Jamesey's Cottage on our next trip to Ireland!

Our family spent a week at the cottage for my daughter’s graduation celebration. Absolutely beautiful location with a breathtaking view! Road to the cottage is narrow and was taken slowly; incredible landscape and lots to see along the way!
Communication with the hosts was great; appreciated their responsiveness!!
Would highly recommend for a stay and hoping to get back some day for another visit!!

Spectacular !!!! We were in Ireland for my daughters wedding and stayed here. The cottage was perfect and a lot larger than we thought. The views are incredible! I'm not much of a hiker/walker but I found myself walking and enjoying the Irish country side. Theo was the perfect host. Although the drive is a little daring, the end result is so worth it! I would HIGHLY recommend this Irish Cottage to anyone that really wants to get away and enjoy the true beauty of Ireland, Thanks Theo for being a part of our families wonderful trip and making our daughters destination wedding so special. Myself and 7 friends had an amazing stay at Theo and Clodagh’s property. Spacious and quiet with amazing views over the lake. The facilities were all great quality and communication very easy. Not far from loads of different attractions and lovely pubs. Well be back again!

Brilliant place to stay. 50th birthday celebrations with old mountaineering friends and their families. The house was perfect. A great base for the mountains...with some wild swimming as well. Thanks Theo. Your house is fantastic.

We had an amazing stay here, the location is breathtaking. The house was a great size with plenty of room for a large group. There was also a generous amount of cutlery and crockery. I would recommend getting a rotary clothes line as the one drying rack was not enough for our numbers. The house is off the beaten track so a car is needed but that is part of the attraction. We would definitely recommend it.

Superb property with everything you could possibly need
Location is slightly remote but this added to the whole experience as the views were breathtaking
All in all my family and I had a fabulous time and would definitely go back again
The owners go out of their way to ensure this

Fantastic stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful house! The views and location were absolutely perfect! Since we used to live in Ireland, we had no problem with the narrow lanes getting to the house, but be advised, if it’s your first time, you’ll want to drive carefully. But the house and views are absolutely worth it! The homeowner, Theo, was also very kind and nice to deal with as well.

Wonderful family break
We’ve had the most amazing break in this beautiful spacious cottage. Very clean and well kept. Surrounded by the most stunning scenery and breathtaking views. Although the cottage is very remote it is worth it for the spectacular location. The outside area around the cottage is ideal for young family’s.

Amazing base of operations
The property was fantastic and the communication with the hosts was great. Detailed instructions for everything so everything went off without a hitch. Enjoyed being away and relaxing at night with the splendid views. Was close enough to enjoy everything in Kenmare/Killorglin/Killarney and the Ring of Kerry. I want to go back!

Escape high above Caragh Lake
A fabulous, well designed & equipped house, with a beautifully planted garden in an outstanding setting high up above Caragh Lake.
Very peaceful , not a sound to be heard, just the passing rabbits & sheep!
We had a truly wonderful time entertaining our family & friends in this lovely, comfortable house.
Pre dinner drinks by the fire pit with the beautiful 360 degree views made for a perfect start to a nights entertainment.
Good weather, walks, lots of golf & excellent food after at Dooks Golf club (due to their French chef & super staff), made this a very successful two week staycation.
We would definitely book again.

Lovely week in Killorglin
We just came back from a great week in Jamesey's Cottage and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. The house is large, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The grounds are substantial, well maintained and with incredible views over Caragh Lake. We had a great time visiting Killorglin, Valentia Island, Inch Beach and the lakes of Killarney.

Panoramic Views of South Kerry
Jamesey’s cottage has an amazing location above Caragh Lake, 15-20 min country drive to Glenbeigh & Killorglin with shops and restaurants. Well appointed and very spacious with plenty of room for a large family indoors and in the garden. Quiet location with only the sheep, deer and rabbits for neighbours!

Great Location
Beautiful house to stay in. Do your shopping on route. The drive is not for the faint hearted, lots of steep hills so the scenary is amazing but well worth the drive. Loved the american fridge, open fire, comfy beds and sofas. Highly recommended.

Had a great stay in Jamseys Cottage - plenty to see and do on the peninsula. The house is in a great location overlooking the lake. Very peaceful. We all loved it.

Amazing Week
We had an amazing week in Jamesey's Cottage, Kerry. After a 4 hour drive to see the house appear below us from the hilltop was breathtaking. I only wish I had a video of that moment to record the gasps from my fellow travellers. Directions spot on. Cottage was spotless. Books, Games and outside facilities were excellent and used every night. 15 min Drive through amazing scenery to Rossbeigh Beach and then onto the Ring of Kerry. Would recommend this property to both young and old and would easily cater for 10 - 12 guests. Killorglin has fabulous restaurants but we ate / BBQ'd at house 5 of the 7 nights. Weather was amazing but even when it changed and rained the house is big enough to cater for in-door activities. 5

We had a splendid stay Maum
Our overall impression of this property is excellent! The written instructions we very detailed, they included the check-in process (which was seamless).
Even though we were only two people (we like space) this is a perfect size house for a big family or two small families travelling together. There are 2 kids rooms just past the kitchen (behind a door that helps block the noise from late-staying adults) and the upstairs loft as well (which itself has another bedroom for the "older" kids to be able to be able to stay out from underfoot while still in the house)
The sound system is excellent and include a Bluetooth connection so you can stream from your phone.

Fantastic house, good location
This large house was perfect for a large family get-together: excellent living/dining area, big benefit of the upstairs games room, kitchen well kitted out. Large garden with walks possible from the house itself. It's at the end of a long, winding road - fine in August, more challenging in winter. Good base for lots of Kerry touring, walking, water sports, all of the tourism opportunities on offer.
