About this farm stay rental
An attractive, grey stone building, originally stables and outhouses for the early 18th century Westcove House, overlooking the Kenmare estuary on the southern tip of the beautiful ring of Kerry. The Stables was converted in the 1960s and its facilities have been regularly updated over the years. All main bedrooms have a view of the sea and the mountains beyond. It sleeps up to 11 and provides an ideal annex to Westcove House, making a perfect venue for extended family re-unions, being very suitable for children. There is comfortable sitting room with open fire. Facilities also include wifi throughout. The well equipped kitchen has a dining table seating 10 and a spacious play area. A large games/party room, artist studio and a sauna/exercise area are facilities situated in The Stables building (which are usually shared with the house when let separately) and also approachable from the outside. However, please note that whilst Covid restrictions remain in place, the Games Room, Sauna and Exercise Room in The Stables may only be used by guests actually staying in The Stables, unless they are part of a larger group who are also booked into Westcove House and/or Garden Cottage). There is a patio with garden furniture with good views over the Kenmare estuary. The games room is also ideal for holding talks, classes, activities & demonstrations for a wide variety of interest groups. Art groups delight in our north-facing studio, while walking groups can revive weary muscles in our sauna after a day’s rambling. A large lawn with swings is perfect for children or playing games, or even erecting a marquee for a party/small wedding.
Our location is fantastic for outdoor pursuits from cycling to fishing, sailing to walking. Golf courses in our area are among the best in the world and within an hours drive you will find several top class facilities making Westcove also an ideal base for golfers.
For floor plans and more information on the many activities in this beautiful and fascinating part of Ireland, please refer to our own website: www.westcove.ie.
PLEASE NOTE… We are usually reluctant to let the Stables on its own in July and August until we are sure it is not needed as an annex to Westcove House (1213179) and/or Garden Cottage (1213184) which together make a very popular venue for extended family get-togethers and other reunions - See Westcove Lettings (439174). However, do check the calendar and contact me as this restriction does not always apply – when we ourselves are staying at Westcove House for instance, the Stables is often available on its own – and we very seldom use the games room!
We can only accept full week Saturday - Saturday bookings in July and August and a minimum of 5 nights during May, June, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods. At other times, start/finish dates can be more flexible by arrangement but must be for a minimum of 3 nights (a 4 night minimum applies for large Weddings or Celebrations when a marquee is required)

Wonderful, welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Everything we needed and more. The perfect location with stunning views over Castle cove bay. Just a 10 minute drive from our favourite little paradise beach, nature reserve and the famous Derrynane House.
A fabulous tasty meal awaited us after our long drive. Everything was just perfect. You made Our family holiday unforgettable.

Fantastic and strategic location to run sea kayaking coastal journeys out of. The Stables has enough rooms for folks to spread out and a big common area with kitchen for cooking group meals. Located on an old estate right on the water with easy access to the ocean head lands and islands of the wild County Kerry.

Family get together
The Stables was ideal for the family. It was close to the family holiday home, where other family members were staying. The extra space of the function room, allowed the younger members freedom to let off steam in the rainy weather. We love that part of the world. We had 2 meals made by Kathrine, the chicken & leek pie and the lasagna. Both were excellent. Saved us cooking. Highly recommend this option..Both Susannah and Katherine were lovely and very helpful. Many thanks from us all

Beautiful Ring of Kerry Home
We had a family of 4, grand parents, and another guest all stay here for several nights. The grounds are beautiful and it’s an excellent location to reach Derryanne and the Skelligs There was room for many more. We stayed in the converted stables that date from the 1600s and although the updating was from decades ago it was quaint and functional. The people that run the home are lovely and very accommodating. There is also a main home and a garden cottage on the same property We did not see inside of them. The game room in the stables is fun and there are lots of bathrooms for extended groups. I would highly recommend you taking advantage of the food you can preorder. We ordered everything and it was all wonderful. Makes life very easy. There is also a little cafe and bakery right next store that has great coffee but they don’t open early.

Perfect size, Great location
Perfects spot on the ring on Kerry. The older cottage was just as advertised. Unique and interesting. The host has great. Never any issues.

We had a fantastic time at Westcove Stables last week of May 2015 and it is very likely we will return in next couple of years. Accommodation was just what we needed for an extended family get together of 3 generations. The games room and garden were particularly appreciated by the kids (aged 4-11). Location was perfect with beautiful views of the bay. We found so much to do in the area and the weather was very kind to us. The local Derrynane beach and park was a highlight and remarkably quiet at this time of year. We enjoyed exploring Killarney national park and more widely across the Ivereagh peninsular including hiking up Ireland's highest mountains in the spectacular Magillicuddy's Reeks.
