The location in the jungle & that the owners are trying hard to make it Eco friendly.
Rough gravel roads for about 3 miles to the property.

We loved our stay at the cabin. It's really well equipped and the communication with the owners was exceptionnal.
It's only something like a 10 minutes drive to the Volcano Park so great location.
A little pricey for what it is, a problem we had though almost everywhere in Hawaii.

We stayed in the lodge. It was very pleasant and new. The grounds were lovely and had many fruit trees growing around. The amenities were awesome. Everything we needed was available. They even included some food items as the location is distant from shopping.

Location is something special, in a real forest, among trees and birds of any kinds. It’s really a bit magic. Owners very friendly. Got some fresh brewed coffee in the morning which was available in the house.
Only issue… I could not stay more ….

It feels you are in a secluded place and then everything inside is cozy and comfortable. You are made to feel very welcome and then you have ‘ your own little place’ in the fern forest to relax
We liked everything about the property.
There is now and then a little bit of background noise from faraway neighbors but most of the time very tranquil.

The hosts the house and the environment were amazing.
You need to drive on a gravel road the last miles.

Loved the solar power and eco-friendly amenities. Very cozy and clean. A good base for exploring Volcanoes National Park and Hilo.
The gravel roads to get there. My kids hated the coqui frogs but I found them soothing!

Great stay. The hosts were amazing with the whole set up from the entrance to the location, communication, and extra details in making this a lovely peaceful "zen" stay. We will be back for sure.
Simplicity with every special detail. I would not change a thing.

The location and environment was great for relaxing and visits to the volcano.
Not the Rainforest Eco Cabin's fault, but be prepared to dodge potholes on the little country roads on the last few turns to get there if your vehicle has small tires or low clearance.

We loved the location and the lodging. We felt very comfortable and relaxed in the middle of the fern forest. All of the details and amenities were great. We appreciated all of the attention to detail that has been put into this lodge. The filtered rainwater for drinking, the large windows with natural sunlight, the comfortable beds, impeccable cleanliness and beautiful views of the tropical surroundings. We loved the close proximity to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We spent an entire day exploring, came back to the lodge and ate dinner and returned to the park at night when it was less crowed to view the lava flow and see the stars. On our final morning, we enjoyed watching the provided dvd's about Hawaii. Overall, we loved our two nights spent in the lodge.

Peaceful location, clean and updated decor. We loved the filtered rainwater and other conservation features. The proximity to Volcano National Park made it easy to get back to the park early and beat the crowds.
Not a thing. We loved everything about it.

I loved how peaceful and quiet it is. it is close enough to volcano national park that I’d wake up early and go before the crowds came. The mini fridge is packed!
the diffuser incense.

Beautiful, comfortable cabin in a great setting and conveniently located to Volcano National Park. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating. Especially appreciated the care and attention to environmental sustainability. The front porch was a blissfully serene spot for morning coffee and breakfast.
The gravel roads leading to the cabin are extremely dark at night -- once we realized that, we made it a point to get back to the cabin before nightfall. Fortunately, we were happy to return to such a lovely, cozy place.

incredible location in the middle of a large tract of semi-developed land. well furnished /stocked home; comfortable bedding
the drive from the main highway, while only a couple of miles, can feel a bit long!

Beautiful little private cabin/lodge in the middle of a forest. You have to enter the property with a code they send you so its nice and private and safe. You walk inside and instantly feel like you're at home. Very modern and relaxing. Has an electrical lock with a code so that's some nice extra security as well. Comes with a kitchen with lots of food and cooking utensils. Free wifi and streaming services. It was very cozy and we definitely will recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay in Hawaii and wants some privacy away from people. Will most likely stay here again in the future! Agnes and Andrew were wonderful hosts with great communication and help make the check in, stay, and check out process easygoing and convenient.
Everything was wonderful. Could use a new shower head though.

Very unique property. Very nicely done for such a small place. Enjoyed the “Eco” theme & it was such a relaxing atmosphere. They even had very relaxing music playing when we walked in. Really enjoyed the fresh eggs provided by owners too.
Pretty remote. Make sure guests know to bring food because there are no stores or restaurants near.
