Fantastic apartment , brilliant location
The staff in the restaurant down stairs were unfriendly and we waited ages just to get a drink
4.5 / 5.0
The apartment was excellent, very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were all very nice and helpful. The location is central to the river area so there were alot of people around. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant. The restaurant has a wonderful view of the river and bridge.
We did have a little trouble finding the front entrance. There are several restaurants around the entrance with outdoor seating. But we happened to inquire in the hotel's restaurant and the nice waiter showed us to the hotel elevator.

The room we had was river facing and it was an amazing view. From our window we could see the river, the bridge and all the wineries. Right below the hotel is the main section for tourists but the windows sealed tightly to keep the room quiet. However when the live music performers began it did get a but noisy but we didn't mind because it was only for a couple hours. The view and location are worth it. It was nice to have a room bigger than a typical hotel room. Very comfortable.
The floors can be a bit noisy and we could hear the people upstairs walking sometimes.

the location, the lighting, the soundproofing on the windows, the breakfast, and everything was incredible.
The air conditioning was not programmed to go very high at all. It was actually too hot for me to sleep, and I woke up covered in sweat throughout the night.

The apartment was self contained
The apartment was very spacious but there was not much hanging space or storage for clothes.

we booked a river front room which had a separate lounge area. great location if a little noisy due to the buzzing waterfront. good double glazing though so you could stop the noise.
the girls serving breakfast were a delight.
breakfast itself was excellent with the buffet being constantly replenished.
other than the guy who checked us in no reception staff acknowledged you as you went past. all too busy looking down at computers.
lack of drawer or hanging space for longer stays.
no USB points.

This was our second stay in the 2 bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the Douro. Oh my - such a treat! The hotel has the perfect location. It was easy access to the Ribeira and not far to walk to many other sites in Porto. From our apartment, we could also watch all the activity or participate when desired. The hotel staff could not be more welcoming. We felt like honored guests returning. Breakfast is good and their snack area is open all day, which we appreciated. Lovely, lovely. Highly recommended.

Location and view was very good. Excellent breakfast served by friendly staff.
Paying Euro56/day for parking a long distance away from the hotel was a bit annoying.

the noise issue was not the hotels fault. We were directly over the promenade.

This was a beautifully spacious apartment right by the river. it was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable!
It was a little difficult to find as the entry way is under the arches amongst all the riverside restaurants but once we were there and settled that didn’t matter at all! The receptionist told us only one taxi company is allowed to drop you off on the small access road outside the hotel - the rest (Uber etc) drop you up the top and you walk down a steep hill to access the hotel.

The hotel is stunning. It’s right in the heart of the Ribeira district near some of the most beautiful back alleys and tight streets. It definitely has the best view in Porto. We got 2 rooms - one with a balcony and floor to ceiling windows that was spectacular. I’d highly recommend if you have the extra budget. Boats would go by and you could hear the music and action below, but when you shut the windows it was pretty silent and perfectly dark for sleeping. The staff was great and held our bags pre/post check-in and helped coordinate taxis and lunch reservations. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. It definitely made our trip more magical.
Realistically with any stay there are always minor issues: My room’s AC was weak but my parents’ room was fine. I wish the bathroom was a bit larger and there weren’t many extra plugs. The bed was on the harder side too. Even with the cons, I highly recommend this place.

The location is amazing - right in the heart of Ribiera. The apartment was huge with a full kitchen, spacious bathroom and large shower. The breakfast was spectacular, as were the servers and the rest of the hotel staff.

the decor was beautiful and the room was clean. The suite was large and comfortable. Staff was accommodating and kind.
Our room was in the back of the hotel, off the river. there is a very strong odor of stale cooking smells from either the on-site restaurant or the restaurant next door, like their exhaust fan isn’t working. we mentioned this after the first night and they offered to move us to another hotel however that was not a convenient option. The explanation we received was that the restaurant next door was busy and nothing was wrong and they put extra air freshener in our room and suggested we open the windows. Each day the odor got stronger, I believe that someone’s exhaust fan is not working, if you are sensitive to smells make sure you don’t book a room in the back. All of our clothing and luggage that was in the room for the three days we stayed has that odor, which is not a big deal, as I will do laundry when I get home.

Everything! The reception desk took us to our room and ensured we knew how to open up the door. The location was fantastic! The service was fabulous! We had a small "beeping" in our room and staff showed up immediately to diagnose and solve the problem. The front desk arranged a great wine tasting tour as well as our early morning (5:00 am) ride to the airport. We can't say enough good things about our stay at Porto River! This will be one of the top two hotels we've stayed at during our years of travel! As my wife said, "you knocked it out of the park" with this hotel reservation!

Super well location in La Riveira, 24hr reception and room service, excellent breakfast, soundproof room, very large with separate living/ sleeping areas, bathroom amenities with bathrobes and sandals, nespresso machine
not enough space for placing toiletries and clothes.

The location, the architecture, the people.
It’s a great location but can be a bit loud at night so if you’re an early to bed and a light sleeper it might bother you. It didn’t bother us though. :)

The beautiful location above the old Porto river side. The outstanding architectural restoration of the interior of the building which created the modern and yet cosy ambiance of this hotel. Very spacy, clean and comfortable room with outstanding view on the river side. Excellent breakfast.
The noise of the overcrowded pedestrian river side and its numerous restaurants would still be acceptable without the countless street "musicians" who are spoiling the place without almost any interruption with badly played British standards of the 60's : if you don't remember the lyrics of the Beatles hits, don't worry after 3 days you will be able to sing "Let it be" and others on a karaoke stage without even reading the words :-). But to be fair, it is a generalized disease in Porto : it just happens everywhere they can expect enough tourists for trying to make a living.

Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location. Immaculately clean & adequately equipped for a long weekend. Reception staff were efficient, friendly & extremely helpful.
This does not relate to the property, but the evening dinner staff were very slow & somewhat forgetful. Had to ask for a number of things twice & in one instance didn’t receive our order at all despite asking 3 times.
