O convento e o seu entorno. O silencio, a amabilidade do persoal. O xardín e paseo polo canaveral…
Nada que dicir
7.0
The location is convenient next to the city centre and near the river bank park. The building is charming albeit the decoration could be improved.
The mattress not so good. The breakfast didn't meet expectations, the quality of the products was a step behind what I'd expect for a hotel at this level, the presentation a little unprofessional

Well preserved building.
Room wasn’t very pleasant. A very small window, poor light and ventilation.

Beautiful and historic facility. It used to be a monastery.

We appreciated the friendly and efficient staff. The location of this hotel, within easy walking distance of the centre of town, is perfect. The breakfasts are exceptional.Plenty of variety and fresh produce.
We were surprised to find that there was hot water in the rooms only for a short time, morning and evening. We also felt that we should have been told, when we made the booking, that the award winning restaurant would not be open during our stay. This was particularly unfortunate, since the reputation of the restaurant was one of the deciding factors for us in choosing the hotel.

It is a beautiful building and very quiet bedroom. Great water pressure.
The heating didn't work as well as expected.

With one exception, the things we liked were the commonplace things such as cleanliness that really in the modern age in the context of a hotel charging just over €80.00 per night should be regarded as givens and not are regarded as “outstanding.” This explains for instance why only an average mark has been given for cleanliness. Booking.com should focus on things that really matter, not on some sort of tick box exercise that elicits what it wants to hear and effectively skews the realities.
With the proviso that potential future bookers should request a Riverside location to avoid slipping above a noisy, cobbled street location really was excellent. Beautiful views over the ramparts, the riverfront and the backdrop of Spanish mountain scenery.
The staff were indifferent. At times the manager tried to present a kind, concerned face but in reality, she was brusque and dithered. Because we arrived early, we asked if we could leave our bags reception, something that just about every hotel in the world accommodates, and were given a very curt come back at three. Incomplete contravention of the normal Portuguese way of doing things payment was demanded when we checked in.
The combined air conditioning and heating system in our room was very difficult to fathom. Because we were I attempted to operate the relevant control panel on the wall. This had the desired effect of warming things up but the system became very noisy. At 5.00 PM I went down to reception asked if this could be adjusted and was told the system that was operated remotely by the manager. On our way out at 6.00 PM I politely mentioned nothing had been done. When we returned 3 ½ hours later we were offhandedly told by the same receptionist I had spoken to twice before that if we wanted heat we would have to put out with noise. Only when I then got a bit cross was the difficulty address. There was nothing by way of an explanation in the room, least of all in the supposedly comprehensive manual
see above-I have stayed in much less better resourced Portuguese Hotels charging a third of the price charged here that get these sorts of things right without having to be asked. The good breakfast referred to in the Booking.com is at best a misnomer and at worst a blatant misrepresentation

Close to the centre with its own parking. Attractive comfortable room and friendly staff. The pool looked tempting but we didn’t have time.
Wifi was almost non-existent.

Very spacious rooms
Very nice setting in an old convent
Some 15 minutes before end of breakfast serving time ran out of coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon
No fruit salad had to “make my own” from pieces of fruit
No separate shower but bathrooms are quite large so no shortage of space
White dry walls need attention as they are getting damaged and dirty mainly from scraping furniture
8.0
Very good location at a short walk from the town center. Nice gardens and swimming pool. My room as facing the backyard which was more like a walled backyard, which was not pleasant as I expected.
The room facing the backyard. next time I'll try to avoid it.
9.0
Very good location in a quiet zone and at the same time close to the center. The infrastructure was also really good
They were lacking on the number of staff and sometimes they seemed to be a bit lazy taking a lot of time at the reception or bar/restaurant.
