Great setting near the Kandalama Lake. Wish we had more time. Good food. So great to be around nature. Lot of wildlife, monkeys, squirrels and birds. So much space to walk around. Lovely staff with typical Sri Lankan smiles. Great place hope to have a longer stay next time.
None. We did the mistake of leaving our shoes outside and we lost one. May be monkeys or a dog. But we were told not to keep doors and windows open or leave things outside. May be a perk of living so close to natural elements.

I liked the layout and location of the resort. Their swimming pool is great, as are their grounds.
The food was awful!!! We ate breakfast 2 days in a row at the resort, and were not impressed one bit. They have a huge spread, but the quality was really lacking.

Calm and Quite location with Amazing Lake view

This is a beautiful hotel surrounded by a gorgeous lake and forest. The pool was big and refreshing. The staff were incredibly welcoming and could not do enough for us, always smiling and friendly. This was the perfect base the explore nearby Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Temples.
The only improvement could be a more readily accessible water fountain to fill up water bottles etc, however staff would kindly fill these if asked.

All the things are good and can feel the natural environment with good experience. Staff is very good and friendly.
Really poor WIFI facilities and even some local network also very poor coverage. Unitl checked out We couldn't have continuous WIFI facility.
Even couldn't utilize the beautiful balcony because of the gang of toque macaque (Macaca sinica) Rilawa. If open the balcony door they will come inside quickly ( We had this experience and it was difficult to take them out)
Can see them very closely but in other side if we go with kids it's should be careful only during in balcony.

Very attentive and friendly staff, the location is amazing.
We were the last house in the complex and took longer to get there, especially when you have a toddler as they were quite few steps too.

This was by far the best service we received in our 5 weeks in SL. The staff at Amaya are superbly trained- friendly, discreet, helpful.
The manager was so incredibly kind and warm and during many of the very good meals; staff came up to us to ask us how we are.
A sunset boat trip was arranged for us on the lake- it was nothing short of spectacular.
The food took quite long to arrive but that’s all

- If you want to take a rural experience ,this hotel is an ideal place
- I stayed more than 10 hotels in Sri Lanka during my vacation. Amaya lake staff is the most friendliest staff i have met during my vacation. My special thanks to Ranjith ayya (room assistance )
Location is amazing surrounded by a lake. Easy access to Sigiriya, and dambulla cave temple
- Restaurant is amazing with wide variety of selection
- Cleanness is quiet average. Specially seating places outside of the villa

Excellent hotel and lives up to the expectation. Just wished we had spent more time here. We had a villa which was cozy and comfortable. The staff are excellent and friendly. The lake views are out of this world if you can visit it during the early morning hours. The dinner and breakfast options are like an endless list. Great tasting food and good choices.
Though this is not a con, be ready to have critters in your room like tiny frogs. They do give a fair warning about it. Not a big deal. The staff take care of this in a jiffy.
