About this apartment rental
11 Harbourside is a lovely one bedroom self catering holiday apartment occupying what must be the finest position in West Looe standing high on the curve of the river with outstanding views of Looe Harbour, the Banjo pier, the beach and out to sea. Having such stunning views means that you can enjoy staying in the flat at any time of the year. On and off-season Looe has plenty to offer.
The flat is perfect for a couple: 1 double bedroom, a well fitted kitchen and a delightful sitting/dining room which has French doors leading to a Juliet balcony from where you can enjoy the stunning uninterrupted river and sea views of Looe.
Please note we only want to accept bookings from non smokers - if you are a smoker please do not book. We have a zero tolerance policy on smoking in or around the flat and a full damage deposit is taken if there is any evidence of smoking.
There is a well-appointed bathroom and the apartment benefits from gas central heating. Free wi-fi is also included. (Please click on more details below to read on)
There is no direct parking space with the flat, but there is a drop off point when you arrive and leave the flat with your luggage, and there is plenty of free parking less than 10 minutes walk away. We have never had any problem finding a parking space. If you prefer, pay parking is available at a similar distance.
The front entrance to the flat does have a number of stairs (although there is a lift). However, the extra height gained is worth it! There is also a very accessible back entrance leading onto a tarmacked footpath that to the right leads down a short steep slope into the centre of West Looe where there are several shops and cafes, and a grocery shop and delicatessen. To the left out of the building a very much gentler path leads into a quiet road to take you to where there is free parking on the roadside.
The centre of West Looe with its delightful harbour, shops, restaurants, and quaint olde pubs including the "Jolly Sailor Inn" reputedly the oldest in Looe are only a two minute walk with busier East Looe, accessible during the season by passenger ferry or by a charming ten minute walk via historic Looe bridge. East Looe offers the visitor a host of pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as the local sandy beach and boat trips.
Walking west from the flat you will see Looe Island opposite the sea front and small beach area. There is also a characterful seaside café next to tennis courts. Going further west will take you onto the lovely coastal path to Polperro via Talland where there is also a beach café.
Harbourside was converted from the former Bodrigan Hotel in 2005 into 12 luxury apartments each with their own private entrance with number 11 being a penthouse/loft apartment.
As much as we love children, the flat is not recommended for very young children due to the balcony.

We do also have two single sit on Kayaks available in West Looe (one Ocean Frenzy and one Feel Free Nomad). We are happy to let guests use these at their own risk for fee of £75 per week plus a security deposit. Please do ask for further details if you are interested.
Finally, if you want a car free holiday, Looe has the benefit of a branch line train service connecting with the main line to London from Liskeard. This operates all year round.

The apartment is in a lovely spot with beautiful views. Everything you need for a stress free stay is supplied. It was spotless and I would stay there any time.
The information that was given with regard to parking and access had all the necessary detail and made checking in a breeze after a long drive.

A small but clean and comfortable apartment. The views were stunning and as the weather was a mixed bag we spent lots of time gazing out of the window. The only slight negative was the bed was firmer than we like, but it wouldn't put us off from staying again.

Apartment was wonderful and perfect location and view. A suggestion for a comfy chair to replace old cane chair and a new lounge/sofa.. .plus a longer shower hose please. If we lived in UK we would return frequently. Australia a little far away. Thank you.

Looe holiday
The appartment is ideally situated on Hannafore with spectacular views, it is immaculately furnished and has a nice homely feel. I will definitely recommend this property to friends and hopefully will return.

Perfect short stay in a lovely flat in a lovely town
Everything about the property was perfect for us. The flat is small but has absolutely everything that might be needed for a short stay. We chose not to cook but the kitchen seems to have everything needed if you chose to do so.
The bed was comfy , bathroom clean and had a bath which was a luxury for my partner who prefers to bath than shower.
The flat is on the upper floor so a bit of an uphill trek to get to and is in the eaves. This means there is limited headroom in some areas but this adds to the charm and was not an issue at all and gives the added bonus of such
spectacular views . The location has to be one of the best in Looe for those views and for us was perfect for walking around the town and further afield.

Amazing Views
Our third stay in 4 years at this property. Always clean and well equipped and the views are amazing in all directions.
Our only negative is the unsafe place to unload and having to park nearly half an hour away if you are luvky enough to find a space.

Very clean , a fantastic view and very central for shops and eating places. The lift is an advantage when bringing luggage to the top flat also the rear entrance cuts off a part of the climb

Stayed in this property last year and it is in a great location with fabulous views of the harbour. Small but perfectly adequate for a holiday let.
The only problem is no parking and the risky parking spot for unloading the car.

Perfect place to stay in Looe
What a lovely little flat! Marks instructions made it easy to find and enter the flat and first impressions were excellent. We went straight through to look at THAT VIEW!! To get that view though it requires quite a climb to get to the flat so It is not for the faint hearted. The flat was very clean, tidy and well presented. The bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of storage. If we could change anything it would be to have a shower and more comfortable seating. Space is limited so there was a shower head in the bath but could only really be used for washing hair over the tub. The seating in the lounge wasn’t comfortable to chill out and relax but we spent little time sitting anyway as we were out exploring the area. Was a good spot for viewing the New Years Day swim! Overall we would definitely recommend this flat and would definately return again. Thank you Mark, Mary and Diana :)

Cornish gem with stunning views
We stayed for one week in this beautiful apartment that had everything that a home would have. The views across the harbour were absolutely stunning during the day and at night. The apartment was comfortable, quiet and easily accessible especially with the lift. Parking was not a problem as we parked down by the seafront for free just a short walk back to the apartment. Shops and bars close by and a great base for going further afield. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Devon or Cornwall. Mark was very helpful on any queries we had and got back to us immediately with a reply. We cannot speak highly enough of this apartment for its location, cleanliness, views and friendliness of the local people. We will definitely return to this apartment sometime in the future.

Amazing views and the apartment is clean and homely.
When I arrived I was impressed with how clean and tidy the apartment was. I felt at home within about an hour of being there. There was everything I needed for my weeks stay. The cupboards had all the essentials and a bit more than most places I have stayed in. Then there was the most amazing view, which looked out onto the sea, the harbour and the scenic East Looe . I managed to park on the street at the end of the hill with no problem. Even when it’s windy or raining you don’t really notice it with the stunning view from the balcony, which changes from morning to afternoon and then the lights which shine from the apartments and harbour across the way. You can see the beach and hear the sea, which is so calming.
So location wise it was the most beautiful place I have stayed in. Comfort, cleanliness and attention to detail, I would have to give the apartment 5 stars.
If you want a relaxing, stress free break then I would highly recommend a stay here, there is lots to do and I didn’t manage to to do half of it as quaint Looe kept me busy.
