About this house rental
Perfectly positioned for walking, cycling and sightseeing The Pink House is close to the famous horseshoe shaped Lulworth Cove and iconic limestone arch at Durdle Door. The Jurassic Coast, now declared a World Heritage Site, is accessible via footpaths from the house and here you can enjoy breathtaking walks along the South West Coast Path.
The Pink House is a post war semi detached property with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside.
Tucked away from the usual tourist traps and popular hot spots at West Lulworth, the Pink House is a great base to escape the crowds and experience the delights of Dorset's famous landmarks.
The house itself is spacious and homely with a large open plan lounge/dining area, underfloor heating in all rooms downstairs, comfortable furniture and modern essentials such as WiFi, smart TV, etc. French double doors (from the dining area) open directly onto the paved patio which leads up to the garden with outdoor seating, lawn/play area, BBQ and herbs for cooking.
Adjacent to the lounge is a snug/study area with smart TV, library of books, local guidebooks and walking/touring maps of Dorset.
The country style kitchen with garden views has been updated to include slate quarry tiles, fitted kitchen, oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms with good sized double/single beds and quality mattresses, as well as pure cotton sheets, feather duvets and pillows.
The bathroom has a walk in shower, bath, vanity sink unit and WC.
There is also a 2nd separate toilet and wash basin upstairs which is adjacent to the main bathroom.
Throughout the house there are many personal touches including handmade mosaic mirrors, beachcomber mobiles of driftwood and glass, recycled objets d'art and other memorabilia collected from our travels.
If you are a family seeking a hideaway holiday, an active group of friends eager to explore, a wedding party celebrating at nearby Lulworth Castle or just interested in discovering the delights of Thomas Hardy's Dorset then the Pink House is the perfect place to come and stay in a country setting close by the sea.
Amenities include off road parking for 2 cars only.
Pure cotton bed linen, bathroom towels, electricity, WiFi and central heating included.
There is a full sized cot with mattress plus highchair.
Responsible pet owners and their well behaved dogs (minimum age 12 months) are welcome although, unfortunately, we cannot accept guests with cats.
As a courtesy to other guests there is no smoking policy within the house
In nearby Wareham, Wool or Lulworth you can sample Dorset specialties, buy locally caught fresh fish and shellfish, try a range of tasty goods at the well stocked delicatessens, health food store and organic farm shop or discover Purbeck arts & crafts from around the area.
If you don't want to drive the Weld Arms Pub, Lulworth Castle & Tea Rooms and Lulworth Equestrian Centre are all within easy walking distance.
Please note : the Lulworth Ranges are a six mile stretch of coastline requisitioned by the MOD during WWII which extends from Lulworth Cove to Kimmeridge Bay. The ranges are open to the public during school holidays and almost all weekends. Intermittent firing from the ranges can be heard throughout the entire Lulworth to Kimmeridge area during the week and in school term time although it is perfectly safe and none of our local walks are affected by closures. Occasional night time firing does occur when the ranges are closed to the public.

Homely and well equipped
Booking the property was problem free with excellent communication from the owners. Lots of helpful info was sent to us before our arrival.
House is well equipped and there are plenty of books and games for rainy days. Also lots of maps and leaflets on the many attractions of the area.
Beds are very comfortable and there are nice views from the bedrooms.
Great garden too with patio area and lawn.
Would recommend.

Absolutely lovely
We were 5 adults and a baby, the pink house was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. Very quiet rural location, but lots to do in the surrounding areas and some beautiful coastlines.

welgelegen familie huis

Very enjoyable
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Pink House. It was very comfortable and well equipped. Our only thoughts were that it would have suited us even better if there were 2 single beds in one of the rooms instead of all doubles, because of children.
Although we had 2 cars, the parking was not a problem
The situation was great for exploring the beautiful area and we were blessed with glorious weather.

Lovely base to explore the beautiful region
The location is great, so close to the Lulworth Cove, the Durdle Door, and many walking paths to explore the coastline...
The house has everything you need and the garden is very nice and well maintained.
We highly recommend the place!

Family weekend retreat
We were a family of 7 adults, looking for time away together. This area holds a lot of childhood memories and as we all live and work in London, we loved being in an area where the scenery is fantastic and the walking opportunities, abundant. The house was very clean, cozy and comfortable and well equipped for our stay. A cross between a cottage feel and modern design, particularly the kitchen and bathroom. The area is quiet and beautiful but very convenient for all the local 'sights', although you do need a car. The TV is small but as we are a board game playing family this was not an issue for us. The space was just about fine for us but for 8 adults it would not have been big enough. The fact that it only has one bathroom (although there is 2 toilets) was managed by good planning and time management but it did mean that we did not get out in a hurry, which actually suited us fine for the weekend. We would visit again in a heart beat.

Beautiful location
If you love Hardy country you will enjoy your stay at The Pink House. It is a very nice house, warm and cosy – and ideally situated for viewing the delights of Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Swanage, the lovely town of Wareham, and so much more.
We stayed as a family – six adults and two babies – and everyone enjoyed their experience of the house and the area so much that they are all keen to visit again in the near future.

Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful quiet rural setting
This is a very well equipped cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need in a rental. It’s a great size for 6 people, well taken care of and furnished and in a beautiful location. A car is necessary to stay here as there are no walkable shops. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves walking & countryside.

Very enjoyable stay at the Pink House
We had a wonderful week staying at The Pink House. The house itself is very comfortable and well equipped with everything in good working order. The owners were extremely helpful and always on hand to ensure our stay was trouble free. The surrounding countryside is accessible straight from the front door and the Jurassic Coastline is no more than a comfortable walk away.

Wonderful cottage in great location
We spent five nights at The Pink House and wished we stayed longer. No problem finding the house using the GPS. Great information packs provided by the owners. Only a short drive to stunning scenery at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The 30 min drive to Studland is highly recommended.

Lovely house, extremely well equipped, in an idyllic location.
Well placed for visiting all around the coast, and further inland too. The owners have made up a file full of useful info about the area, with tips on where to eat, free parking places etc, which was invaluable. An easy 20 minute walk from the house to Lulworth Castle, which is well worth a visit. The whole family had a wonderful holiday.
