Great villa, great location. Would definitely recommend.

We had an excellent stay in this gorgeous (huge) villa.
It exceeded our expectations. It is even better than what you would expect from the pictures. Large rooms, beautiful bathrooms. A new airconditioned bedroom was added at the top floor just before our arrival.
The house is super well equiped with qualitative materials and equipment everywhere. From the sheets on the beds to the towels, to the kitchenequipment, two fridges, .... .
And what a fantastic pool it has (6 x 14m). So nice in this hot wheather enough seats around it for 10 people.
The house is in a quiet location, about 10 minutes drive from Le Thoronet village, where you find everything you need (bakery, butcher, ...). Larger supermarkets at 15-20 minutes drive.
Don't forget to visit the wine estate "chateau La Martinette" that is at 800m from the villa. Impressive.
Houseowner Jonathan was very friendly and easy to contact.
Conclusion: we had a great holiday.
So certainly a memorable place! We will keep good memories.

Fabulous house with a extremely spacious garden
If it hadn't been for the unseasonably poor weather it would have been a perfect holiday. The owner are extremely helpful and pro-active. A perfect home for families with kids

A wonderful, spacious property
I rented the villa for a fortnight and it was everything I had hoped it would be, spacious, well equipped and in a lovely position. The pool was huge, as was the garden so the children were not on top of each other. The river at the end of the garden was a beautiful added extra. We found a deep swimming pool after a bit of wading up stream and swam in it every day. My brother in law also brought his inflatable kayak which the children rode the tiny rapids in.
The villa was really well equipped, without being chi chi. It is set well back from the road and not near any other property so we felt wonderfully relaxed and remote. However, it is only about an hour from Nice and 10 minutes to Le Thoronet with the butcher and bakery. There were loads of supermarkets close by. We went to the market in Cotignac (amazing) twice and twice rented kayaks at the great place on the road between Carces and Lorgue. A really fun afternoon activity for adults and children.
Jonathan (the owner) was so hopeful and reasonable about breakages. He has even posted back to me something I left at the villa. Marceline and Claude, the french couple that help him, were close by and couldn't have been kinder. I definitely intend to rent this villa again. It is a wonderful place, the stuff of childhood memories.

A great place to spend a relaxing family holiday
The house was ideal for all the family, and there was plenty of room for 10 of us, with lots of equipment etc for babies and toddlers. The location in the vineyard provided peace and quiet in the countryside, yet within easy access of local villages and towns.

Family friendly villa in excellent location
We really enjoyed our two week stay at the villa. It is in a beautiful quiet setting and is an excellent location to explore both Provence and the coast. The villa and gardens were spacious which made it ideal for two families sharing and the pool was fantastic. It was an added bonus to have the trampoline and football goal for the kids as well as the table tennis table which was used by everyone. This is certainly a place to consider returning to.

A lovely hideaway in the Var
We have just returned from a family holiday in Le Thoronet. The listing description of the villa was accurate and our overall impression was of a clean, well maintained and spacious property. The house was well equipped with everything you could possibly need for young children. The grounds were extensive and the 4 children all enjoyed exploring and playing in them. The pool proved a big hit with children and adults alike. The setting was peaceful and convenient for visits to nearby towns and villages such as Villecroze, Cotignac and Aups and also further afield to St Tropez. We found that all the restaurants we went to were happy to accommodate us (10 people) by putting tables together etc. and one of our favourite places for lunch was St Croix on Lac St. Croix for the fantastic views of the lake.
Jonathan and his family were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends or relatives. Many thanks Jonathan.

Great villa, excellent location & family friendly
Had a fantastic one week stay here. It was a great base to explore the Coast and numerous local villages and towns from. Rooms were spacious and well laid out, perfect for two families with small children, but could easily have accommodated more. A vast selection of toys, books and DVDs and a huge enclosed garden to keep the kids amused. Pool was lovely and a great size. We really enjoyed our stay only wish it could have been for longer but would definitely return.

Great place for a large family holiday
We had a great week. The villa was just what we expected from the description. We were 6 adults plus children of 6, 3 and 11 months, and it seemed to be perfect for everyone. There was a fabulous collection of toys, games and things to ride on. The trampoline was a highlight for many - even we grandparents had a go. And of course the pool was at the centre of everything
It was clean and everything worked. Jean Francois kept the pool immaculate and was very forgiving when we overfilled it.
Probably the most telling fact is that some of us hardly left the villa at all throughout the week - a couple of trips to local villages and one to the Abbaye by those who hadn't been before. So the barbecue saw a lot of service
Another plus is that the Richardsons are extremely friendly and efficient - a pleasure to do business with.
All in all highly recommended

A fabulous place to chill and relax.
We have just returned from a fabulous family holiday in this amazing villa. It is situated in a truly a beautiful spot in the Var and has every facility you could possibly wish for. On arrival we found the villa was spotlessly clean with every facility one could possibly need. We had 4 children ages from 4 to 11. The copious amount of toys were just amazing and our 2 little girls had the most wonderful time playing with them all. The kitchen was very well equipped and this coupled with the BQ made providing meals effortless, even for ten of us. Normally we would dine out a few evenings during the holiday but we cancelled the advanced bookings made because the villa was so idyllic for our family, the children were able to entertain themselves in the grounds, in the house or mainly on the trampoline whilst the adults enjoyed the wonderfully balmy evenings relaxing on the terrace. The house is indeed very spacious and provided plenty of room for our group of 10. The sitting room is very comfortable and again well appointed with every device needed although, only the children used this area to watch a DVD in the early mornings, the adults always gravitated to the wonderful outside terrace to enjoy the amazing views, read, use the Internet or enjoy long chats accompanied by the obligatory glass of liquid refreshment from the local vineyards. The bedrooms are all very well appointed with reading lamps and plenty of hanging space. The mattresses, bed linen and towels were all of very good quality. The configuration of bathrooms and on suites worked very well for our large group. The villa also has a hair dryer if one needs one. The pool is large and totally fantastic with plenty of good quality sun beds and umbrellas to shade you from the mid day sun. The two little girls were non-swimmers when we arrived but by the end of day one they were launching themselves of the steps of the their 'Pool Noodles,' some of which were provided, so they older children had ones to play with too. Having graduated steps into the pool was super, particularly for the younger children and the adults who like to gently launch themselves into the water! The trampoline was fantastic, when the children were taking a breather from the pool they enjoyed using up their boundless energy on the trampoline or using it as a place to 'hang out' away from the adults. All this and the amazing grounds ensured we had the most fabulous holiday ever. We have booked for 2015.

Better than the brochure!
We had an absolutely fabulous time, thanks. Your villa was even better than we expected. The pool was stunning, with all the loungers you could need. There was plenty for the kids to do and space to do it. The trampoline was used everyday, the copious toys were brilliant, the kids could explore the grounds and found dens in the woods. The showers were really powerful and the house remained cool. It was great also to be able to relax watching British TV. Barbecuing and eating on the patio under the gazebo was amazing.
We would definitely go back there.

A secluded, spacious villa with large grounds.
This is a perfect and peaceful place for a family holiday. The villa is immaculate and has all a parent could want for children and babies. The grounds are large with a big pool and there is a river at the bottom of the garden. We have stayed here five times and will be back next year. It feels like home to the three generations of our family. The nearby villages are charming and provide excellent shopping, cafes and restaurants. The A8 autoroute is only 15 minutes away, putting Nice and Aix in easy reach. What a place for a holiday!

Magical week in exceptional Villa
This beautifully presented spacious villa fulfilled all our expectations and provided us with a holiday that we cannot wait to repeat.
The large garden with it's many shaded nooks and crannies is simply perfect, especially for children.
The provision of all the equipment one could possibly need, along with lots of toys for little ones, and a great selection of DVD's and books made our stay all the more enjoyable.
On the days when we were not exploring the many surrounding medieval villages and dining in the atmospheric little restaurants with their rustic cuisine, the well equipped kitchen made dining in easy and on warm balmy evenings, we enjoyed using the barbecue and dining on the spacious terrace.

Great time in Le Thoronet !
We were a party of 7 people and really enjoyed our stay at this villa. All of the bedrooms were well furnished and the 2 main bedrooms were particularly attractive and very pleasant to stay in. The kitchen/living area is spacious and would easily accommodate 10 people without feeling crowded. The same applies to the terrace areas. The villa is very well stocked with all the crockery/cutlery/dishes etc you could possibly need. The TV/video/dvd were useful for our children (although there were no english channels) and there were plenty of videos/dvd's in the house (as well as an eclectic collection of books). The villa was very clean and well stocked with towels etc. We had a small problem with the hot water and the caretaker arrived within minutes to sort it out. He also came in the middle of our stay to clean the pool and was very helpful generally, so we were satisfied with the service we received on site. The pool area is plenty big for a large party of people and the pool has a (low) fence and locked gate for safety. There was loads of pool inflatables etc in the basement. The garden was great - very large - with plenty of trees to shelter under if you are not a sun worshipper! Also great for football/rounders etc with kids - and the people at the pool would not be disturbed at all. Le Thoronet is about 5 mins drive, other near towns good to visit were Lorgues and Cotignac. The local villages are quiet so don't expect lively night life!! Overall a really great villa to stay in!

Wonderful week in gorgeous provencal villa
we had a truly wonderful week in this lovely large spacious and well arranged villa. We came as a family of four and then Granny came to join us after a couple of days - plenty of room for everyone and a quick and easy trip to pick her up from Nice in the car.
The gardens are stunning - huge and great fun for exploring or treasure hunts! The children loved it and we loved being away in such a peaceful location next to a field of vines away from all the hustle and bustle of London life.
The surrounding area is great and there is plenty to do if you want to do more than swim in the heated pool (which we did a lot of!) and enjoy the great weather ( perfect in early- mid May)
The house is well equipped and comfortable and I would recommend this for any family holiday.

gorgeous family house
We had the most perfect family holiday at the house - 4 adults and 5 children - more than comfortably fit in and filled our days with swimming in the beautiful pool which was very well fenced, jumping off logs in the river or running around the huge garden. The property owners couldn't have been more helpful and everyone involved helped to make our much treasured 2 week family holiday incredibly special - we highly recommend it!!

A very nice house lost in the countryside!
The house is large and very well equiped. The bedrooms are very nice and the showers are wonderful. The kitchen is well equiped as well but some plates and glasses were dirty when we arrived. We appreciated the table tennis in the garage, the toys for the children (they spent hours with the doll house in wood) and all the DVD and books.
The garden is huge but safe for the children. The swimming pool is big with a lot of sunbeds and sunshade...but also a lot of wasps! and the bottom of the swimming pool seems to be dirty (green colour).
Wi Fi for Web didn't work, we had to use a cable to be connected and mobile phone didn't work as well but we were supposed to be on hoildays...
The countryside is lovely and people around are very nice.
The information provided by the owner are useful to visit around.
We would recommend this house to friends. We had a great time.

Villa near Le Thoronet
The property was as described, clean on arrival and well maintained.
It was a bit off the beaten track (access not for low slung sports cars) which will appeal to some but maybe not to all and whilst we enjoyed the remoteness of the villa location in many aspects, there were one or two minor drawbacks such as intermittent mobile signal, nothing within walking distance.
That said, and whilst a car is very much a necessity, it was a good base for local exploring and finding picturesque little French villages. Supermarkets were within easy access and the local bakery, butchers and convenience store in Le Thorenet itself, more than enough for any last minute items.
The connection with the A8 Autoroute was very convenient and also as a route down to the coast towards Toulon.
Marc, the gardener / pool man was courteous and I enjoyed my discussions with him concerning the property and other matters.
Whist I did not meet the property owner, I did speak with him on a couple of occasions and everything was fine.
I would certainly recommend the property to any relative or friend who was thinking of holidaying in the area.

Great (spacious) house with a big garden
We had a great holiday in this spacious house with three families together. The house has very well equipped kitchen (incl enough cutlery, plates, pans for 10 persons), play tools for the children and enough chairs/ pool beds . The garden is very spacious where we played a lot of nice games with the kids. The garden is so great that we could even break out with a small group to yoga in the shade. Furthermore the pool is very big and sunny and close to the house (an advantage for people with small children).
Besides the house I love the region (Provence) for its climate (very sunny), nice small typical French towns, the beautiful nature and it is not as crowded as the Cote d'Azur although their beaches are very easily to reach by car from the house (40 minutes to Frejus).
There is a lot to do (f.i. canoeing to the river which cross the house) in a circle of 20 miles, although you need a car or the legs of Lance Armstrong to bike on the hills.
I would recommend the house to everybody with a big/multiple family/families.

Villa paradise in center region Var, Le Thoronet
We had a wonderfull time in the villa, 14 days, using the beautiful river a lot in the hot midday, and the pool at all other times.
your house were perfect for the size of our company of 9, and it is truly a paradise spot you found there.
the kithcen is perfect size, and yes we used it every second day.
We had a super experience with the bigger children,
+5 yrs, renting kayaks, at the road between Carces and Lorgue, 4 hours and 8 km of fun in beautiful surroundings, ending up at a landingplace near Le Thoronet, where you could swim and cool of, untill being collected and returned together with the kayaks, to starting point collecting our
car.
we can highly recommend the local restaurants, as we found "le vallon" and the little one by the square in center of "le thoronet" having a standard we didn't expect to find, and at cheap prises as well. 170 euros all in for, 9 people.
We sadly never found the time to try the creperie in center town, we only thought of it as making deserts, untill 3 days before leaving.
we also visited your local domaine l'abbey, visiting the cave, winecellar, original from 1250, small but exciting and wonderful, and the very french guide sold us but to much, wine and oil.
Their "grand reserve" was very well worth the price,
giving a little hint, buy it in town, by the butcher or by caeur du var shop, as they are much cheaper than buying it on the "chateau"
we visited the sorrounding villages, and found the market at Lorgue, being the best, but with expensive restaurants.
The evening markets at frejus/st. raphael were a treat for the whole family, as the little ones could try the "tivoli" things. We dined at a brasserie by the harbour, wonderful meal, and cheap as well, 60 euros less than in Lorgue.
again very much thank you for having us, we will be back, travelling otherwise, 26 hrs from denmark, without a sleepover is to much, but will be back for sure.
