Amazing location and the staff are lovely. We had a meal in the pub/restaurant which was great. We really enjoyed the breakfast as well.
Nothing - the room was very warm but we were able to control the heating ourselves so that was all fine.

the food was excellent and so was the service
I was woken every morning with the sound of the bins being emptied and there was a buzzing noise from the kitchen

Amazing scenery . The pub sits on top of a hill and I gather, is the highest in Derbyshire. It is privately owned and they are very much hands on.
The Landlady is there bright and early to welcome guests for a most enjoyable breakfast ......all freshly prepared!
For pub accommodation I couldn't fault it. Our room was beautifully appointed

The location was fabulous with views over the valley. We both thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal and the staff were friendly. There was a good choice for breakfast, we had the full english and I couldn't fault it.
We stayed in a standard twin room and it was smaller than we anticipated with no windows (just skylights). If you did want to watch the TV you have to sit on the bed and for people of a certain age this is quite uncomfortable.

The location is stunning. Watching the sun rise over a cloud inversion in the valley was something I'll not forget. The food was excellent-everything was done well and with care. Good beer. Staff were, without exception, friendly and efficient. Bedroom was warm and cosy, with good bedding and an excellent shower.
A small thing, but there were only roof windows in our (otherwise excellent) bedroom-no views unless you opened the door.

Our trip to the Peak District was made extra special by our stay at The Barrell Inn. Beautiful location and excellent welcoming warm room. The bar had only 2 cask ales in use out of 4 handpulls but Marstons Pedigree was kept in good condition and there were ample keg opportunities including Guinness. . Our meal was delicious, I selecting fresh baked cod on a seafood pasta base. The arrival of the local shoot workers celebrating the end of a 3 day shoot was interesting but they were all polite and no untoward noise. This added to the experience of a night's stay on a wet and windy Moor in the highest pub in Derbyshire at 380m above sea level. Wholly recommended and we shall be back.
In our bedroom the mirror light was not working, and the toilet flush needed pumping to activate, but this was a minor blemish on the stay.

Pub was situated in a gorgeous spot overlooking the village of Eyam. Views were spectacular. Rooms were clean, cosy & warm. Good selection of drinks/toiletries & lovely towels. Bed & bedding were super comfy. Pub/restaurant was absolutely fabulous, food & service were amazing. Highly recommend a stay here & we'll definitely be back. Jeremy was so lovely & helpful on the phone with my own personal queries. Thank you.
We loved everything.

The Barrel Inn is a comfortable and welcoming small hotel in a spectacular location. The room was scrupulously clean and well appointed. The bar has an interesting and varied menu which departs, successfully from the usual pub grub. The cooked breakfast was excellent. Everything about the Barrel Inn shouts "attention to detail". They set a high standard and then go consistently a little bit beyond!

My Husband & I spent a couple of nights here to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary. The property was beautiful. Very welcoming staff and beautiful inside with a roaring log fire...
Our room was super and had everything that we needed.
We were visiting Chatsworth House for the Xmas Lights and this property is ideally located being only about 15 minute drive from the House.
The restaurant and food is quite spectacular. Breakfast in the mornings was also beautifully prepared. Loved it and we will return when visiting that area again.
We loved everything.
There was absolutely nothing that could be complained about - Beautiful property with wonderful staff and fabulous food!
