the Car parks cramped so I would recommend reversing into your slot. The food is superb the staff amazing, love the feel of the building the road side appeal is 100% and the pub is friendly and good to relax in.
the bedroom décor was as expected for an older place, clean and functional, I would have liked softer pillows and perhaps a mattress topper as I found the bed hard. I liked the feature of steps down to the bed but at night as its so dark I would recommend one of those motion detector low level lights with a PIR (B&M bargains £8) which I have at home...

What an utterly amazing hotel full of history & character. We only stayed to see a band playing over the road but enjoyed the hotel as much as the band!
Big delays on food orders. Told 45min delay but it was more like 75mins, wouldn’t normally be too concerned but it cost us half an hour of the band!

Lovely staff and beautiful old historic property
Coffee wasn’t great at breakfast - not sure if the machine was broken but it tasted like instant coffee

Such a magical place to stay - the high four-poster bed made me feel like royalty and the hotel has so much history, with something different and quirky to see everywhere you look! The floors are uneven, giving you a real sense of the age of the place, and the decor is in keeping, with great attention to detail in the room, corridors and public rooms downstairs. Bottles of water by the side of the bed are a welcome touch, there are biscuits with the tea and coffee and complimentary toiletries. The little breakfast room is lined with bookshelves, filled with a fabulously eclectic mix of books, so you'll never be short of something to read. My cooked breakfast was hot, fresh and tasty, and all the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. This was my second stay here, and I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

This is a quaint little inn with lovely calm staff, good beer and relaxin gstay in. Its not a holiday inn, and its not posh, but it ticks all the boxes for me.
THe wifi is pretty weak, so youre better off using mobile data

Breakfast was very basic , car park was really bad it was an old building but the floors were bad to walk on stairs were so steep . Bathroom was so not suitable . Thought it was quite dangerous. Especially for older people or children.
I won’t go there again .

Location was good for what I was looking for, and had free parking. The evening meal was good with a big portion, and the breakfast was also very tasty. The bedroom was full of character with a comfy four poster bed, and had good wifi.
