Meget hyggelig familiedrevet hotell, imøtekommende på alle måter, vi kunne ikke funnet noe bedre. God italiensk hjemmeaften med lokal laget mat.

Friendly staff, beautiful old building.
4.5
Great surroundings, atmosphere of the building, staff
Other guests were really loud until very late in the evening and then early in the morning. There was some kind of a private birthday party I guess.

Well preserved house at a beautiful location. Very kind staff, we really could ask anything. Excellent restaurant, we had great dinners, even the kids loved it. Also the breakfast was really good. The garden and the courtyard is lovely, you can have your meal also outside.

Great breakfast and nice place
Room not too big and too warm in there (no air conditioner)

Beautiful, characterful, quiet, rural location that was a perfect road trip stop for us. It was like staying in a museum! The internals of the hotel were great. This is a working nunnery and there were still nuns nearby, so we were conscious that we had to be respectful. The family team that ran the hotel was very personable and helpful. We were able to relax in the location as well as use use some of the the time to go and experience some of Lucca and Pisa in the 2 nights that we stayed. Breakfast was simple continental. Our apartment was fantastic, beds were supportive and there were two bedrooms. Perfect.
Only small downside was that our car was low and heavily laden. The underside got caught in the main car park as the entrance was broken. There was an overflow car park that was fine, however. Nello( the owner) said that the main car park would be renovated in the winter.

Excellent food throughout stay ....breakfast plentiful and homemade. Very helpful staff at all times. Nothing too much trouble.
Air conditioning in bedroom but probably not possible bearing in mind nature of old building

The folks who run the place are pleasant. They are honest in their description of the facility, but with no bug screens and scorching temperatures, not a place where to rest after a long journey. It should be disclosed, upon making a reservation.
A little bit off the beaten path with missing signage toward the very end. Simple, but surely restful during the cooler months. Slightly shabby, but that adds to the charm. There was a loose dog on the premises, so if you are traveling with a dog pay attention. Unpaved parking.
The place is unfit for very hot summer days because it does not have HVAC or ventilation. not a place where to rest after a long journey. I cannot tell you much about the rooms because, even if prepaid and not refundable, we went to a better hotel in Lucca. They can use the money to improve the property and feed booking.com.
Who knows, you might be luckier or, as some reviewer said, may end up in the room above the boiler and have a sleepless night. Traveling in Italy is always an adventure!

Two single beds instead of a double. Room was very very hot. Very small room for 2 people.

Nice family running the monastery turned hotel. We appreciated the special atmosphere and the beautiful outdoor areas.
We very much enjoyed our experience and would return if we are in the area though I can imagine that it is not for everyone. People who do not have any connection to church or seek comfortable beds with fluffy pillows might find it too monastery-like.

Goodwill of the staff
Way overpriced given the facility. 80€ value for 130€ paid price !
Yes, there was a festival in Lucca during that period, but no reason for outrageous pricing.
No very easy to locate. Multiple names for the same place, booking, google, roadsigns, GPS,...
Very basic room. Paper thin doors let you enjoy all the noise in hallways.
Very basic bathroom with tiny shower..., etc

Location was very nice, very beautiful building and surroundings! Lovely terrace to eat breakfast or to sit and relax. Spacious parking space available.
the hotel is a kind of old monastery, which makes it very beautiful and idyllic but has as consequence that the rooms are quite basic. Also there was no electricity between 9-16h on the day we were staying, which was not super convenient (but I am not sure whether this was a 1 time thing or not)
4.0
Friendly staff, uncomplicated

Good location, beautiful surrounding.
No AC, no fridge. Standard of cheap hostel in hotel price.
